Visited on a Sunday evening and after a warm welcome we chose the 3 course menu for £16.95 which allows several choices. We picked Bruschetta for starters which was very fresh with tasty peppers albeit the tomato lacked flavour. The pizzas to follow had a...nice sour dough chewy base (although one was cooked a nicer brown than the other) but we enjoyed them and the delicious house red (a Montiulciano d'Abruzzo) washed them down nicely. A small portion of choc brownie with vanilla ice-cream and a splash of cherry sauce finished our meal. A nice atmosphere inside and both Italian servers were attentive and very polite. We would go again.More

So glad we stumbled upon this restaurant whilst visiting from Liverpool. Really friendly staff, so helpful. We hadn't booked but they were very welcoming and luckily could fit us in. The food was delicious and so reasonably priced. We ate from the 2 courses and...they very kindly allowed my children to swap to have deserts instead of starters. Tried the brushetta and calamari to start which were generous portions. Then between us carbonara, bolanaise and lasagne, all very tasty. Highly recommend and hope to be able to come back!More

Lovely Italian been here a few times, good service always checking up asking if food is ok and if you need any more drinks, friendly staff, food was lovely potato skins starter and tagliatelle carbonara for main course although carbonara is only on lunch menu...special I asked if i could have it and they still served it even though it wasn’t on main menu I do think the portion size could of been a bit bigger of the pasta as there wasn’t a lot of tagliatelle. It’s a shame that the dishes such as carbonara, lasagne, bolognese etc aren’t on the main menu and are just on specials menu espically popular Italian dishes. All other members loved there food my dad said his calzone was one of the best calzones he has had in a lot of yearsMore

On a short break from Glasgow, and on a wander to the Quayside, we passed Topolino. Although closed for the night as we passed, our eyes were drawn to the Early Bird Menu and we took a note to phone the next day to reserve...a table. I phoned around 12.30 to make an evening reservation. My call was answered and the reservation was confirmed in less than a minute. On arrival at Topolino, we had a beautifully warm reception and the friendliness continued throughout our meal. The Early Bird Menu is incredible value for money. We both chose the bruschetta to start and were not disappointed. The freshly chopped tomatoes were complemented by a very light goats cheese, topped with lovely, crisp salad leaves and finished with a balsamic glaze. For the main course, I chose the Pizza Topolino with 3 toppings of my choice (rocket, olives and mushrooms). The pizza was light, crisp and absolutely beautiful. My wife chose the Bistecca, well done, served on asparagus with a punchy peppercorn sauce which she absolutely loved. The hand made chips helped set off a fantastic meal. The drinks, one large white wine and one Birra Moretti, were very reasonably priced. Throughout the meal, our complementary chilled water was constantly topped up. We live in an area with a large Italian community, however, our meal in Topolino was the most enjoyable Italian meal we have had in a very long time. I can’t recommend Topolino enough and we will most definitely be returning.More

Never got to eat. Arrived on time to be told the well rehearsed line of “the table isn’t quite ready, customers are just paying their bill”. However, 30 minutes later and were still stood in the entrance with other frustrated customers. Eventually gave up because...we were no nearer getting seated than when we arrived. Unfortunately, no plan b options at 6pm on a Saturday in Newcastle so it was off home. Evening ruined. Got the impression the staff work like this all the time as they were generally disinterested.More

What a lovely hidden gem. Couldn’t believe I’ve never been here before. Best Italians I’ve been to in Newcastle city centre. Really tasty and authentic food. Reasonably priced and good wine. The servers were lovely and accommodating. We will certainly be back. Would defo reccomend.

Great little find near Theatre Royal for our panto trip. Beware though! Do not eat for at least 2 days beforehand as the portions are massive! We had the 2 course special at £12.95 which included garlic bread, potato skins.lasagne and pizza. A medium glass...of red . Water was provided with ice and lemon. Linen napkins a nice touch. Bill was £31. The 2 ladies on duty were friendly and attentive. Will definitely go back. My granddaughter was well impressed! XMore

Really good, honest food for the price. I got pizza, my mam and sister got pasta and my dad got the surf and turf steak so a decent variety- all really tasty, served fresh, and reasonably priced. Portion sizes are really good too. Staff were...really attentive and service was brilliantMore

I wanna start by saying the staff were so lovely, however.. we booked for 9pm and the table wasn’t ready (only due to how busy it was) and the staff gave us a drink each on the house which was extremely kind. I then ordered...the ‘tomato’ ‘spicy’ sausage and asparagus pasta and i’m so sorry to say it was not good at all. No spice, sausages were extremely chewy and the ‘tomato’ sauce i can only compare it to the taste and look of gravy :( My partner however ordered the steak and it was devine so no complaints there! Just a game of hit and miss i suppose. Lastly, the only male toilet door had no lock.. which was unfortunate for my partner. Honestly quite disappointed, although if you want a steak 10/10, italian pasta however 1/10.More

We called in without a booking and they quickly found us a table it was half full but soon got busier during our meal. We ordered pizzas together with a salad the pizzas were ok but one was very salty and the bases were difficult...to cut, the service was good and it wasn’t too expensive so not a bad time but nice a good one either.More

I wanted to say thank you for an amazing experience and lovely food. We were on a family trip to Newcastle and visited on Thursday evening. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the food was delicious. Thank you again and I would highly...recommend it. We have children 10 and 12 and they had adult potions and the price was very reasonable too.More
