Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited last night 12-12-21..waiter asked us if we want our starter first we smiled and said yes,we ordered a bottle of Prosecco and it came with no glasses and when we asked for them they brought us two of the biggest wine ballon glasses I’ve...seen so we asked to change them for champagne type glasses.prawn and chicken purée should have had alarm bells ringing as it was pretty tasteless,I ordered chicken jalfrezi and my wife ordered chilli and garlic balti, there was no sign or taste of chilli or garlic and and mine was the most bland Indian dish I have ever had,to Summarise 3 bland curry dishes different only in colour without a sign of a single vegetable in any of our what turned out to be plain sauce dishesMore

We dinned last week at Luigikhan's and we received an excellent service by SOJATHA. She had good smile on her face and looked after us well. We love food and staff is nice. I recommend this restaurant to others.

I visited with my family at the start of September with my family. The restaurant is clean. We ordered the tarka daal, korma (which is British style), and nihari curries, all of them were wonderful! The nihari & daal is exactly like how I’ve eaten...at home, and korma, which we were notified would be of the sweetened form, was very nice with that in mind. The tandoori roti tasted and smelled as if it were cooked truly in the tandoor. I don’t quite remember what our starters were, but they were really nice as well! I would say the price is worth it, at least for the sit in dining experience and I’d love to go again.More

I emailed Luigikhans this complaint directly but received no acknowledgment. I have ordered from here previously and enjoyed a few visits to the restaurant on special occasions with my friends and family. My in laws have recently moved near to us so I recommended Luigikhan's...as a takeaway option when we went to see them in late Sep I ordered food at around 6.45pm via the Uber Eats app for around £65. The estimated arrival time was between 7.20 and 7.50pm. The food had not arrived by 8.30pm - I rang the restaurant at 8.50pm and was informed that the driver was on their way with the order to my mother in law's address By 9.40pm the order still hadn't arrived. I then called again and was informed that the order had been completed and delivered around 8.20pm I advised them that this couldn't possibly be the case. We had been in the entire evening, and my in laws have both a doorbell and a letterbox with knocker and live on one of the main roads in Gateshead. The person I spoke to then continued to argue with me and insist it had been delivered and suggested that maybe someone else answered the door (not possible as no one else lives there. It is a semi detached house, not a flat or a multi person building). They also suggested I had put the address in wrong - I had not. They then said they would send the driver around. I gave them my name and phone number. When I hung up the phone I noticed the order on the app had changed to complete. I then rang again at 10.20pm as nothing had happened and asked for an update. I was informed that the order had been delivered, the driver had taken a photo of the delivery and as far as they were concerned Luigi Khan's had completed their part of the order and my issue was with Uber Eats. I asked if I could be sent the photo and was told no. The person was very aggressive and rude on the phone and continually talked over me, insisting that the order had been delivered. What started out as a nice evening with me recommending a curry place we had frequented and enjoyed, ended with me being spoken down to and dismissed. Not to mention we did not get any food and of course I am now £65 out of pocket. The level of customer service was dreadful and the continually changing story (the food was on its way, then the food 'had been delivered ages ago' and then the driver was going to come round and then apparently the matter was closed) was frustrating and disappointing. Now what had been one of our 'go to' places for curry has been completely ruined. I still have not received the money back form UberEats and have now had try and issue a chargeback through my credit card supplier, causing further stress and work. I would avoid ordering a takeaway form Luigikhan unless you want to end up with no food and be called a liar on the phone.More

We visited today as a family to celebrate a birthday, our waiter and the atmosphere was lovely but our night was completely spoilt when it came to the bill. We initially received a receipt which had the bill as £140+, this surprised us a little...as we weren’t expecting it to be this high - this prompted us to check the items on the receipt. We identified two extra items added, we mentioned this to the waiter who brought a second receipt, this receipt again was wrong (items we raised were removed but they added extra items instead), again we brought this to the staffs attention and this happened once more! In total, we had 4 receipts on the night. When discussing this with the man on the till; we found his attitude stank to be frank. It’s completely understandable for the bill to be wrong initially but it should be corrected after its first raised. I’m glad we checked the receipt on every occasion. When we mentioned this to the guy at the till, ahead of paying the actual amount (around £101) he said it’s our fault that we received so many receipts, supposedly we didn’t mention all the errors the first time round (we did, however every time we received the receipt they added extra items which then had to be removed). I even asked the guy to produce the first receipt again so I can show him how they were removing items we identified but then kept adding other items on it. He was unable/unwilling to produce them, saying that’s the whole reason they have itemised receipts so the customer can verify everything. Throughout the conversation he was unfairly shifting the blame on us and dismissing everything we were saying. What was most annoying was how late his apology was and it wasn’t sincere at all. I had a baby in the pram with me and even he woke up whilst all this was being said. Half the family had left by the time the fourth and final receipt was received due to the delay that was being caused. I mentioned that the inconvenience and upset that has been caused should warrant a gesture of goodwill, needless to say, we didn’t receive anything. A sincere apology stating that he doesn’t have the power to reduce our bill would have been better than nothing but based on the way our conversation went, clearly even that would have been too much to ask for...More

Family visit for birthday. Excellent food and great service. Great choice of menu. Was busy fir a Wednesday with locals so just goes to show how popular it is. All staff excellent. Large. Free Car park and close to city centre. Background music was also...great. Visiting locally from the curry capital of the NW but I have to say we were very impressed with the quality of the food here. Will definitely cost again at next visit to Newcastle.More

We had a vegetable balti with naan and it was very tasty. My husband had a karahi chicken which was a little bland and as it was not breast fillet I did not enjoy it. So due to not getting away on a honeymoon we decided to go out for a meal and with LuigiKhan's being our favourite pre-covid there was only really one option when it came to choosing a place. The food was outstanding as usual (popadoms and...pickle tray for starters then chicken tikka kurma with egg fried rice, chicken madras with mushroom pilau and a peshwari naan to share), its on a different level to everywhere else we have tried and big portions too so enough to take home for later. The service we received was friendly and welcoming and the minute the other half let out that we had just been married the day before the manager congratulated us and whipped out his camera and presented us with a lovely photo for us to take home then embarrassed us with some celebratory ice cream and music :) Thank you to the staff for making the experience that little bit more special. Faultless.More
