Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is excellent! Fantastic food, great atmosphere, and the staff and chef were polite, helpful and overall great. We went for our anniversary and both ordered the 'Fujiyama Royale' as we didn't really want the lobster included in the 'Fujiyama Deluxe', though the couple...opposite us did and it looked great. Maybe next time. We booked in advance by phone which was quick and easy, and we attended on a Monday. The chef was really nice, and we enjoyed his routine. He keeps the experience fun, and cooked the food amazingly. The food tasted great! Our chef was respectful and politely kept us out of some of the more 'interactive' stunts without pressure, which we appreciated a lot. It was our first time at this restaurant and our first time experiencing something like this, and we loved it, genuinely. Just beware if you have a beard, you might leave with a few pieces missing! Haha, joking, the fire parts are awesome. Highly recommend this place, would go again 100%!More

Food was lovely but expected a bit more as we all left feeling we could eat more. Service seemed a bit rushed and was only half way through soup then starter came then main shortly after. More of an experience than a restaurant. Very friendly...staffMore

Everything was fantastic all around. We ate each “course” as soon as it was put on our plates instead of waiting for it all to be finished cooking. We all went away full and happy. If we get to visit this area again, we will...definitely come back to this restaurant. I developed an onion allergy about 30 years ago and the cook worked well with it and I did not have any problems. We spent about 1.5 - 2 hours for supper here and it was well worth it.More

Came here quite spontaneously, but so glad I did. Food was exceptional and watching it being cooked was such a fun experience. Lunch menu was good value too.

We visited here today at lunchtime for my birthday. I’ve been meaning to try this place for ages (years) but had put it off. There were 10 of us . After booking, I checked the reviews on here, and did consider changing, however I am...glad that I did not. I did not find this place dirty as others have suggested. The floor was a little slippy but it’s clearly due to the oil in the cooking that is done in front of you. I didn’t find any other part of this place unclean. We got a show, initially I thought we might not, but our chef was excellent, interactive and showed interest in us. The hostess was also brilliant, chatting and keeping the children entertained. Most of us had the lunch time special. I was worried about the small portions others had mentioned, it really was not an issue. I think the amounts of meat and fish are fine when you also take into consideration all of the other food you get… the salad, spring rolls, miso soup, vegetables and fried rice. No one went hungry at all (in fact my dad was so full he couldn’t eat the chicken or fried rice at all) The only thing I was not a fan of was the dressing in the salad, that also came on the spring rolls, I think it’s a mayo based dressing and I couldn’t eat it (I did ask for spring rolls without the dressing after they came and they did this for me no problem, if I had known it came with it I would have asked for it without) Overall? It was excellent. We had a great time and we will definitely go back! Thank you!More

Food great and kids enjoyed the show. For me the sticky floor and cleanliness put me off. Seriously in need of clean and spruce up. Oh and the poor fish in a tiny tank, that was sad.

We tried here for my sons birthday and tbh the food a tiny part of the attraction, the show cooking is clearly what your paying for, We came out of here still hungry, portions are tiny and at a cost of around £8 for about...2 inch of cod etc its ridiculous. Will not be returning . You would need to spend a lot to actually fill yourself.More

Ate here for the first time at the weekend for my daughters birthday. Staff were friendly and attentive. Most of us tried one of the set meal banquets starting from £25 upwards. It seems quite a lot on the menu but the portions are quite...small. The salad was small, a couple of lettuce leaves, quarter of tomato and 2 slices of cucumber and a splash of Marie rose sauce. Soup was tasteless. Thin slices of salmon and small chunks of chicken and steak. Chef put on a good show with fire and the egg trick and a happy birthday message on the grill. All in all just an average experience.More

My friends and I went here the other night, our first time having teppanyaki and I can’t express enough what a great experience we all had. Wonderful staff with amazing customer service and delicious food with a ‘show’. Our chef definitely looked after us well...and so did the rest of the staff that night. From writing our friends name with the rice to the fun egg catching games. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and we hope to come again one day! Thank you to all the staff at fujiyama for a wonderful night well spent! :))More

The tables are very close together so when it’s busy you feel very crammed in. This was the first time coming to a teppanyaki restaurant and it was a bit of a disappointment. I was expecting a bit of a show and a bit of...interaction, but we didn’t really get any of that. The chef came, cooked the food then left. I noticed the only time anyone got any interaction is if it was your birthday. Even then it wasn’t a huge amount. I wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t return.More

This meal was pre-planned and we were looking forward to enjoying authentic Japanese Cuisine, cooked in a novel way in front of us all, 9 in total. Almost the first words out of one staff member's mouth; "We've run out of lobster, blame that man...over there", pointing to another customer's table. One of the reasons that this restaurant was chosen was because it served Lobster in many of the menu choices, especially with the banquet options. First disappointment of the night before we had sat down. The "Fujiyama salad" could have been bought at the Green Market. What is Japanese about radicchio lettuce, some bits of cucumber and a quarter of a tomato? It took an awful long time for our meal to be brought and prepared by a "highly trained" chef stand in, a waiter called Chester, a nice Filipino lad who tried his best as he was obviously tired and as 11-30 and the end of the meal approached, increasingly so. So, back to the meal. Assorted vegetables were various bits of cabbage/beansprouts etc, shredded to be cooked. The "Lobster substitute" turned out to be duck breast, only one mind.. There were 9 of us. The scallops were almost shredded as young Chester tried his best to act out the bible story of loaves and fishes; cutting it fine doesn't mean more, it means mince. £450 for a meal where the ingredients could have been bought for about 40 quid. Very disappointed, with the whole experience and will not be recommending anyone to visit.More

The restaurant is ideal for six year olds. The chef will play games with them. The baby is fine too.
