Beautiful decor and friendly staff. The brunch set up is a bit strange. £10 for the “buffet” (including juice and coffee/tea or £15 for the buffet and a hot breakfast. After looking at the buffet we decided it was of limited selection and ordered hot food only (which was about £8 a meal). I asked for a cappuccino which didn’t come presented very well, in a mug, and it wasn’t very good. The food was delicious although the scrambled eggs came without any toast (I guess that’s what the £10 buffet is for?). The toilets look like they are also for the nightclub downstairs and didn’t smell very pleasant! Seems like the place is new and finding their feet. Would return for drinks only.

I booked an afternoon tea for a friend and I as a treat as Christmas has been so busy as a retail manager.
We arrived at the venue and were promptly met and asked our preferred seating.
First off, this is my place of choice for the food. I had the pleasure of attending the opening events here and the food was outstanding. The second thing I love is the decor, it's so luxurious. Velvet and crystal are always a winner. The botanical feel runs throughout and the only disappointment was the bathroom with a broken tap and a dark feel.
Our hostess appeared and took our order. She was polite and friendly and didn't rush us at all. The tea came hot and the cups sparkling. The milk jug was a nice touch if you love design.
Our food arrived in a timely manner and did not disappoint. The display was beautiful inside a half bird cage and our brioche sandwiches were delivered on a bed of grass and dry ice. Exceptionally over the top and massively appreciated. I'm all for the drama.
I can honestly say I could not find fault. The deserts ranged from fresh to indulgently rich and the buns were fluffy and fresh. The lemon tart is probably the best I have had outside of France.
My friend was overwhelmed and said it was her favorite of afternoon teas we had done in the past 10 years and she is hard to please.
Thank you Leila Lily you know I'm a fan. Can't wait for my next experience with you.

Me and my mam bought a £25 wowcher afternoon tea voucher for Leila Lily’s which came with a cocktail each and I have to say, it was such good value for money. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food and cocktails were top notch. Great assortment of both savoury and sweet treats, the coronation chicken bun was especially a favourite. The staff were really lovely and attentive aswell. Overall would definitely recommend especially using the wowcher deal.

I reserved a table at Leila Lily’s for Sunday for myself and some friends. Obviously with the current climate you have to try and make reservations for fit your schedule.
Whilst I was at dinner in the place I had prebooked beforehand I realised I had a voicemail. When I got to the venue at the time which I had booked, they told me multiple times that I had tried to contact me to cancel my booking. However when I was in the venue there were still 4 tables sat in there. I checked my email and they’d also sent me an email regarding the early closure.
Whilst I understand that businesses may be quieter during this time, I felt extremely uncomfortable staying and paying £9 a drink in a place where I felt unwanted. They knew that me and my friends were to be staying for a couple of hours due to the booking notice therefore they were still going to make trade and decided it appropriate to try and cancel the booking literally half an hour before when we were already on the way to the venue. They did however say we could stay but had a select amount of time to order so we could have one drink, which I felt was pointless since we were clearly not wanted as they mentioned it a few times about how they tried to contact us.
I feel that if you are going to close the business early, a longer amount of time beforehand would be more appropriate since I then had to try and find an alternate venue to go to to fill the gap between the next booking. Also, maybe not make your guests feel uncomfortable and rushed when they don’t receive your messages you sent literally 30 minutes before, it’s incredible unprofessional and uncomfortable.

Cannot fault the decor and the atmosphere, it is truly amazing and welcoming.
On this occasion me and a friend went for food and ordered the celeriac risotto and the gnocchi - the portions were awfully small especially the gnochhi.
The risotto was definitely less than average, with it having a funny after taste and not being up to scratch for the money we paid for the dish! I think there is some work to be done on the veggie options and can't comment on the steak.
The glasses did have marks and lipstick stains on which wasnt a great touch and we got placed on a long table with other people either side so it wasn't really an intimate / private environment.

This restaurant has a very welcoming frrl with lots of flowers and smart decor throughout..The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful .
We had a 3 course lunch and the parsnip and apple soup and grilled mackerel were expertly served and tasted wonderful .
Main courses comprised a beef cheeseburger with fries and Halibut and chips and both were had a unique taste and we savoured every bite
The deserts comprised a mandarin cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding which were a delight albeit we had to wait a while for them but it was worth the wait
All in all a good dining experience complimented by two cocktails courtesy of a Wowcher special offer .. Strongly recommended

My wife and I took advantage of a brilliant value Groupon deal which entitled us to Prosecco Afternoon Tea for 2, for only £30. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and asked to sign in for Test and Trace. We had arrived slightly early and were shown to the bar where we enjoyed a drink before being seated. The service was professional and timely as some places can rush you when you are on a Groupon deal in my experience but this did not happen here. The food was delicious, although there wasn't a great deal of it - but that is precisely what afternoon tea is, it is a light bite to be savoured. The Prosecco was of a good quality and the glassware was clean and complete with a fruit garnish in them. Once we had finished our food, we were left to finish our drinks at our own pace. The place had a nice and intimate atmosphere and adhered to covid restrictions perfectly. You can still enjoy your experience here despite everything that is going on in the World. Staff are all very friendly and great at their jobs. We will definitely return.

Myself and my partner were staying at the Grey Street Hotel next door to Leila Lily’s so breakfast was included as part of our deal. The first day we both had full English breakfasts, and were disappointed. Whilst it was beautifully presented and came quickly, the food was rather bland. We ended up leaving most of it, and left still quite hungry. The next day we prepared for this, hoping that this was a one off, but chose to fill up on croissants whilst waiting for our breakfasts and chose different meals. I chose the french toast - which was absolutely divine, I cannot wait to come back to have it again. The berries and cream complimented the toast so well, I could have eaten it three times over. Huge compliments to the chef for that. My partner had eggs benedict, but was once again let down by it’s blandness, and left most of it. Whilst it was included as part of our deal so it wasn’t a huge concern in terms of value for money for us, we both agreed that the food seemed to be of low quality, and little things like the pots of tea were incredibly weak with a strange aftertaste, and the morning juices were from concentrate so tasted cheap. The service wasn’t particularly great, staff always seemed to be rushing around and seemingly making lots of mistakes, which I could not understand in a mostly empty restaurant, and were quite unattentive at times. We ended up leaving the restaurant when our plates had not been cleared because no one had touched upon our table within the full hour we had been there, once our order had arrived. Whilst I would return to have the french toast again, the service and food quality does not warrant the prices. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and staff were really hard working - but perhaps could do with a little more customer service training.

Afternoon tea at Lelia Lily’s…
Beautiful setting, good vibes inside, we were sat in the bar bit as the other afternoon tea area was so busy but it was fine as it’s so beautiful anyways. My friend arrived 5 minutes after me. I asked a waitress how to order afternoon tea as you can only order drinks on the app she said she would come back and take our order… 20 mins later we still hadn’t ordered and a member of staff who was making drinks at the bar asked if we had ordered drinks yet and I mentioned about the afternoon tea and said I think we’ve been forgotten about. 2 mins later she was at the table apologetic we placed our order and waited a little while for drinks as it was fully booked out. Drinks arrived and they were beautiful but I had one sick and came out in a rash which is some reaction I have so I gave my drink to my bestie. The food arrived and looked sooo cute. My bestie said no salmon for her as she doesn’t like it so they didn’t give me salmon either lol just an egg and one cheese bun. The food honestly could of been a lot better and possibly more of it. I found the ham hock to have a funny taste and smell and as for the peanut and champagne cake that wasn’t for me the texture and flavours were so strange. Before we finished our afternoon tea I ordered a mock tail and it arrived when the afternoon tea was over. We had also asked when ordering drinks first time around for water for the table and then my friend asked again and the waiter brought over a glass of water…. He took the dishes away and then I realised no one once came over and asked if everything was ok…. We waited 20 mins and no one came over to speak to us or let us ask for the bill so we got up and paid at the bar explaining no one had came over like we had been forgotten ( not sure how when they were serving right next to us) I felt like I didn’t fit the brief for this bar being a larger lady and not dressing with the times that’s just the vibes I got. On paying my friend paid £25 (afternoon tea and £5 for the mocktail) and I was charged £29:50 I paid this and we walked out. Afterwards I asked her how that’s possible and we’re confused as I had afternoon tea and a cocktail too. The covid regulations they have in place are very lacked as a hen party got up a few times with masks and walked around the bar and outside without masks, past staff and were never once asked to put their masks on. I think it’s overpriced and definitely not worth the money. Unless you fancy paying £12 for a cocktail you’ve waited 30 mins for just because it’s the vibes. I messaged Leila Lily’s and have given them plenty of opportunities to speak to me but they keep palming me off saying the manager will email you today, sorry about the wait it will be today…. I will not be returning there are better places and afternoon teas in Newcastle by miles.

The food was nice despite the fact we waited nearly an hour for it after asking 2 times !! I also asked for my steak well done but it came dripping in blood. They gave me a butter knife with my steak which I had to ask for while my food was getting cold and my steak came with this weird looking slug thing in a bone! My friend also waited 45 minutes after asking 4 times for her cocktail which was basically just a glass of ice, and to top of it off they didn’t even have the cocktail i wanted which was advertised on the menu so I had to get a vodka lemonade instead or should I say basically just lemonade🙄. So over all I don’t recommend this place for the price it is !! Bare in mind we over heard 3 other tables complaining about the wait and coldness of their food too. The only good thing is the presentation of the restraunt. Ridiculous!!

Visited recently for lunch on a Friday, had booked with a voucher bought online. Offer included three course meal and a cocktail for two.
On arrival we were met by a very friendly lady who took us through to the bar as we were a little early, informing the barman not to charge us as the drinks were part of our offer.
Only one cocktail on offer, didn't expect a bar full but maybe a choice of two or three. We were lucky to be sat in a small booth as we didn't like idea of being sat on the large central table with strangers.
Have to say the decor is great and the staff were very making efforts to look after us. However they were let down by none of the desert menu options being available. My wife opted for a cup of tea which was dreadful dishwater. After patiently waiting and twice asking about the desert I ordered we decided to leave without it.
We were offered a free cocktail as means of apology and within an hour or two of leaving my wife received an apology by email offering a free meal on return.
That's an impressive touch, unexpected but gratefully received.

Myself and a friend went to Leila Lily's for a christmas afternoon tea to swap presents. We arrived early to a very warm welcome from the staff, and were seated with tea immediately. This is the best afternoon tea I have ever had, the savoury was served hot which is the first time I've had part hot with afternoon tea. The quality of food was incredible, so much variation. There was so much food I had to take half home in a box, which the staff happily offered to box up. We were asked several times if there was anything else we needed, more tea, more water etc.
Cannot fault the service or quality, we had a fabulous afternoon, and would definitely go back again

Terrible experience here today. The rude staff were incompetent, taking 10 minutes to bring us some salt and vinegar. Only interested in selling overpriced cocktails and when you politely decline, the service goes down hill. Server was a woman who had just came back off maternity leave - didn’t she mention it enough! Wasn’t aware of any menu changes and was extremely unprofessional with it “I will ask the other server if the pudding is nice?” Well I wouldn’t expect you to say it was horrible, would I? She was strange and obnoxious, “you’re in a world of your own aren’t you!” Erm that is none of your business for one and two, you’re the one in a world of your own. Chicken skewers are two square pieces of chicken thigh (cheap meat) and when questioned why it is not breast, the rude server said that breast dries out, so they are either making the food a week before serving or their chef isn’t a good enough chef to prevent chicken from drying out!

My husband and I had afternoon tea as we were given a voucher at Christmas. All we can say is wow! The beautifully presented cakes and scones were absolutely delicious and the little savouries were just lovely. We love that you get a different selection of teas and coffees included - not just your regular tea or black coffee with cream - we thought this was a nice touch and we were pleasantly surprised when we didn’t pay extra for my husbands cappuccino’s. The service was superb the young lady serving us was polite and friendly and a credit to Leila Lily’s. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back again
