Sprawling pub dead on a Friday night. Big choice of drinks but punters are just choosing not to come here. They need to change something cos there are loads of people nearby (check the City Tavern) just not here.

Watching the football and needed a snack and they had jumbo hot dog and chips for £4.99. Ordered and after a short wait food arrived with a dish of barbecue sauce and mustard and a very nicely presented jumbo hot dog and chips. They were delicious!!good atmosphere in the pub and plenty of other food being served to the customers.

The Crows Nest is an excellent pub for drinks before and/or after a football match at St James' Park. Bar staff very friendly and efficient, serving a packed bar as quickly as is possible. Even when serving real ales, of which they normally have 5 on tap. The ground itself is only a 10-15 minute walk away.

Usually come here before a match. Good atmosphere and multiple screens showing different game. What really sets the place above average is the excellent beer selection in bottles and on tap.

Really lovely barmaid--but thats where it ends--rather a dull atmosphere---may have been there at the wrong time--except the 3 bars i visited straight after where great !--after all Newcastle where playing at home--so there was loads of people wanting a pint---not many in here--will try again later in the year ---food menu looks full of pies ?

Came for lunch, starters took 40 mins to come out. Felt sorry for the lady serving, she was serving drinks, food, clearing up, everything. Food us ok, but at London prices, this is Newcastle. Food was nice, so it should be if you are made to wait that long.

Decided with my group of friends to enjoy a Euro 2016 football match at this bar due to its very handy location in the city centre, super close to main roads, metro stop and Newcastle University. Best decision ever, drinks come icy cold, good prices, great pub food offers and the service was excellent. Steve was an excellent host and... More
