It's been a while since I've eaten here, but I remember that my pie was comforting and hearty, and I like all the different options for pie, mash, peas, and gravy that they provide. Something for everyone! I can attest that it's a great place to drink. I love the cosy back room, where you can always have a conversation... More

All they serve is "pie," and they are fantastic. Great selection of steaks, lamb, chicken, mince, vegetarian and choice of your mashed and peas. A favourite spot during this vacation to Newcastle. Plus a wonderful selection of beer. Fantastic atmosphere in Tudor style building near the Quayside.

We had the best pie and mash of our lives at this restaurant! A select menu of great quality food; the pies were excellent and perfectly accompanied by a wide range of side dishes. The cheddar mash was particularly good, along with the mushy peas. My only criticism is that the tables were dirty and the place had quite an... More

Lovely cosy old pub hidden in the centre of town. The pies are amazing, perfect place to hide away and enjoy a glass of wine or Ale warm by the fire. Really interesting pie selection, spinach, goats cheese and red onion pie is unreal!

Alright, 'best pies in the world' may be a bit of an exaggeration. But only because I haven't been to everywhere in the world... I have been a lot of places though, and eaten a lot of pies, and I haven't found any better! Add to that the fact that, if you pick the right table, you can get a... More

This pub is a gem. Great beer, delicious pies and in a fascinating rabbit warren of a pub. Heaven!! It's situated just off the river and the staff made me and my family very welcome. There's a wonderful section of craft ales and spirits, and for once there were beers on offer not drenched with the citra hop and reeking... More

We went here for drinks not expecting much but were surprised when we went in. The place is full of character and a lovely environment. Great variety of drinks available. We didn't eat here however to food looking fantastic. I would recommend

Went here for the 2 pies with mash and peas for £12 deal. Not the hugest portions but delicious food. My boyfriend got the steak pie and I went for the spinach, goats cheese and sweet potato option - would definitely recommend it. Lovely mash, gravy and mushy peas too!

This place was very nice inside, cool atmosphere and decor. Definitely somewhere to have a drink (if they had some better drinks!). Wouldn't bother with the food.

Visited here for lunch after a walk down the quayside. Amazing range of beer and the food is delicious. Good spot for exploring Newcastle too. Choose your mash, peas and gravy from the menu to accompany pie of your choice and enjoy. Friendly staff.
