Had heard great things about this place so popped along when I was visiting with mates. The service was extremely poor. We walked in and there were 5 staff standing around the counter area all appearing to be avoiding eye contact. We ended up taking a table ourselves and when no one came to give us a menu after 10... The milkshakes from the GBC are fantastic and you get what you pay for! I was inclined to see what the milkshakes were like especially for £5 each but you get what you pay for, Amazing tasty milkshakes. The cakes were brilliant.

Amazing cakes and milkshakes. The afternoon teas looked great too. It's always busy on a weekend so that's a good sign!

We came to sample the Freakshakes and they are amazing. Great portion size, very filling and tasty. £5 is very good value for money. The Freakshake is an ice cream based milkshake topped with freshly whipped cream and cookies, sauce, chocolate etc. The bakery is not that big but we got there as it opened and didn't have any problem... We came here for my Xmas present off my friend. Very impressed we shared one vegan and one veggie and it's BYOB for £5 corkage so brought our own bottle of prosecco! It was pricey but certainly worth it - will be looking for an excuse to come back ❤️

Really nice little place and the 'Geet Big Shakes' are so good I can feel my arteries clogging just thinking about them! Really good place for kids as a treat and even adults!

If you like shabby chic, a good selection of cakes and a cuppa then this is for you. Limited seating but we timed it well. Very well as it turned out because the fire alarm for the block it is in went off just as we were finished. Others were not so lucky and were carrying their cakes and pots... More

Called in one morning for breakfast and got some cakes to take away for later on. Breakfast was pretty good. Cakes we took away were average at best. Perhaps my expectations were too high but the cakes were quite dry. Service was OK but a little slow. Surprising considering there was lots of staff on but they spent most of... More

A hidden gem of Newcastle near the quayside. The milkshakes are huge, and each served with a little cake item on the side. We also tried the sandwiches which were also large portions and tasty, served with crisps. The display cakes look delicious, although after my milkshake I was unfortunately too full to fit one in (although I think you... More

Thought they were going to be a lot bigger than they actually were, personally not overly fond of the dishes, shaking for the four hours afterwards because of the sugar overload, the chocolate milkshake was delightful! The toppings not so. My girlfriend had the red velvet one and it looked delicious, she said it was. Was going to go for... More
