This lovely little cafe is hidden away at the top of Northumberland street opposite haymarket metro. The staff are easy going and it doesn't feel like they are waitresses, more like people you've met before. The actual cafe looks like a living room in a way with the signs on the walls and patterned table cloths. There is a selection... More

I only nipped in there for a quick cuppa and was pleasantly surprised at what was on offer. If i had had more time I would certainly have ordered one of the lovely cakes on offer

We had a catch up meeting at Whistlers.coffee hot scones and butter were all first class served in an excellent way by friendly staff .The wide variety of coffee and teas and light meals is very good, the value for money is also excellent for the city centre

Came here for a cuppa on Saturday after walking past it many times. Was greeted by a lovely woman who sat me through the back so that I could look down over the street. Ordered a pot of tea and a gorgeous piece of homemade lemon cake. Delicious. Will definitely come back here with my husband.

After being introduced to this hidden gem of a tea room, just off the Haymarket, accessed by stairs or a lift, I have met friends here weekly for a long time now. The owner and staff, whenever we visit, Melanie and Lynne are so welcoming and friendly, the homemade food is wonderful, the drinks are spot on, and everything is... More

Visited on Saturday 10th October and whilst all of Newcastle City Centre was awash with rugby supporters heading off to the world rugby cup match, the Whistler Tea Rooms was a welcome respite. The full English Breakfast is a treat and very good value as it comes with toast and tea or coffee. A large pot of tea for two... More

I used to go here regularly and I miss it so much. The cakes are amazing and all the food is nice. Its tucked away high above haymarket and alot of people don't even know its there. All the food is delicious and homemade and you can taste the difference. If you like cheesecake try the one they make here,... More

Excellent food and fantastic lady owner. You have to go to the third floor (by lift or by stairs) and a cosy tearoom awaits with a great view over the pedestrians below and to watch the street scene.

Went in by myself when I was in Newcastle one day. It's three floors up (there's a lift). Quite sweet tea room. Waitress service. Ordered a jacket potato. It was huge! Cakes looked amazing but I didn't have the time to sample. Staff were lovely, prices very reasonable and very clean and tidy. If you are looking for somewhere to... More

An oasis is a desert of fast food, tucked away in the city centre.
Providing a haven for shoppers to rest their feet, students to catch up with the gossip, colleagues to have a more relaxed meeting. The Whistler really is a hidden gem. Typically British light lunches with the added bonus of a display cabinet full of homemade cakes.. Tasting all the better with some TLC
