me and my partner decided to try this place last night after work. We've been passed a few times through the week and not thought of trying it however quite pleased we went in last night. We were asked whether we wanted a table straight away or drinks at the bar first, we decided to go straight to the table... More

We had booked tickets to see Katherine Jenkins at the Sage and decided to have dinner with our friends before the show. We chose Piccolinos and really enjoyed it. We drove right up to the restaurant and parked the car in the car park next door. It's free on a Saturday evening after 5pm! We were greeted very warmly in... More

Slightly unpleasant, arrogant staff, sneakily charging for water and assuming I wanted a large glass of wine as opposed to the smaller cheaper one. Offered extra complementary bread which was appreciated in an attempt to compensate for overcharging for everything else. Desserts were large portions which was a pleasant surprised. Food was nice if a little lukewarm. We both had... More

Called in Saturday tea time the place was empty apart from three tables We waited about ten minutes before any one came to take our drinks order and another ten minutes for the drinks to arrive Then they took our food order. While we waited we watched three members of staff talking and laughing at the end of the bar... More

This restaurant is big and has a great atmosphere when busy. The service was attentive and friendly. It has a pleasant bar area for meeting friends. In general the menu is varied and the food reasonable quality although we all complained it could have been hotter - even the pizza! My problem with this restaurant is their huge mark-up on... More

The waiters in this place are some of the most arrogant I have ever come across in my life, quite happy to give you cheek for no apparent reason, not welcoming in the slightest, everything is a bother type attitude. It also seems that the staff member's children are always here, running around at half 10-11 at night, one of... More

I always enjoy Newcastle's Restaurant week as I go to places I wouldn't normally go as the prices are fantastic. This time we chose Piccolino's and what a lovely meal we had. The staff were attentive and polite and we were seated instantly, even though we had booked. We were asked if we cared for drinks immediately and given time... More
