We have eaten here a few times and the food is consistently good, latest visit was no exception. All courses very well prepared and presented. Service was efficient and unobtrusive. Temperature was on the warm side and the chairs a little uncomfortable, so meal started to drag a little by deserts, otherwise very good.

We arrived without a booking and were lucky on this busy Sunday lunch to get a table. They were busy but service was quick and friendly and helpful. It was a good lunch that I enjoyed.

Always one of my favourites regrettably yesterday’s lunch experience was surprising and inexcusable. All our courses were good except for the dried out confi Duck, the waitress reacted 'it needs sauce?' ...... she then proceeded to 'inform the chef' ..... we heard nothing more, very disappointing.

Decided to treat ourselves to a holiday period lunch at Cafe 21. Had been several times before, in the distant past, and always found it excellent. We were definately not disappointed this time. We decided to have a drink at the bar and were brought the menus. My wife chose the French Cafe Salad, and I went for the Seared... More

A group of ladies booked this eatery for a christmas evening meal. Fantastic set menu for christmas. Great wine list. Food was amazing. Staff and service left ALOT to be desired. When we arrived we were sat in the bar area and no one came over to take a drink order, fifteen minutes later we were attended to! Got to... More

Continue to visit here with some degree of regularity and it never fails. Had a fabulous early evening meal one Saturday and have had a couple of Saturday lunches with friends over the Christmas period. Great value for money on the lunch / early bird menus. Standard of food and service is simply excellent.

I've been here quite a few times but never understand what the fuss is all about. Yeah the food is good but the prices are pretty high for newcastle, prefer peace and loaf in jesmond

Having been twice in the last few weeks for both Sunday lunch and an evening meal prior to a concert at the Sage, 21 is still one of the top restaurants in Newcastle. The setting, the staff, the ambience and the food are all superb. Looking forward to more visits in 2017
