We were recommended this eatery and were not disappointed. Pleasing ambivalence and good service. I had the fish soup which was followed by a rather large veal in breadcrumbs and chips, house wine was nice and reasonably priced

Loved this restaurant! We felt really welcomed and part of the family atmosphere that all really good Italian restaurants have. The food was home cooked and amazing - I had the fish soup and carbonara, my husband had the mozzarella starter and the prawn main course. Lovely bottle of Soave and finished with the pan a cotta and limoncello. Truly enjoyable evening

Just a short stroll from the town centre and the Royal Shakespeare theatre, the stylish ambience , spacious dining area and external patio in this authentic Italian trattoria are welcoming and relaxing. As a starter, the fish soup was amazing, and our different mains - pasta, seafood, and meat stew - were delicious and served in generous portions. Some highly quaffable reasonably priced Italian wines.

We visited Sorrento restaurant on our first evening In Stratford, we have not booked but they managed to find a table, this is a very sought after restaurant, with many people being unable to eat here that evening. The welcome was exceptional and the friendliness of the staff made our evening. The quality of the food was very good, I thought it was extremely well priced, I am very pleased we found this restaurant as it got our short stay in Stratford to an excellent start.

I booked this restaurant for our company team day/eve away based on trip advisor. The food was amazing! I think the majority of us had the veal T-bone steak and it was delicious! Everything on the menu looked awesome. The staff were attentive and friendly. We all had an amazing culinary experience there until the end of the evening when the bill arrived. Bearing in mind there were 7 of of us, we all probably had a minimum of £45 worth of food pp plus alcoholic drinks, we were expecting the customary end of meal shots of lemoncello to be a freebie and when we questioned this on the bill, the waiter decided to ‘remind’ us of inflation rates and was rather put out that we expected this for free! It kind of put a dampener on the experience. It could have been handled in a more adequate way but hey ho. Overall, a great restaurant and I would highly recommend!

We had great Italian food from a very varied menu. I can speak for the Linguine Gamberoni, it was delicious. The pasta was coated in spicy tomato sauce and covered with tasty king prawns and, of course, helped down with a reasonably priced bottle of lovely red wine. The service was excellent and the ambience beautiful. We could easily imagine that we were in Italy.

What can I say, our experience was just perfect. We hadn't booked and the restaurant was pretty full, but we had a table for two near the bar which suited us just fine. Our host was very friendly and chatty, and gave us a brief history of the restaurant, which opened in the 1980s. The service was impeccable, and the food ... All I can say is my pasta was absolutely delicious, just the right amount of chilli, and dare I say better than one I had in Pisa. They take bookings based on the number of chefs working, and so the food is freshly cooked to order and delivered in a timely manner. I wish we lived nearer! Booking essential.

We booked last minute after a bad experience elsewhere and they managed to fit us in. We are so glad they did. This is probably amongst the best Italian restaurants we have visited in UK and almost certainly the best of any type of restaurant in Stratford. On arrival we immediately had a friendly greeting from the barman, who stopped what he was doing to lead us to a corner table at the back of the restaurant, waited whilst we sat down and settled in and then presented us with the menus. We were made to feel, welcome, valued and appreciated from the moment of our arrival. All the staff we encountered had time for a friendly few words or a joke. This is one of those few restaurants that it was difficult to choose what to order because it all sounded so good. Plus there was a specials menu and an extra specials list which was verbally given by a lovely smiling waitress. I ordered the scallops from that list and they were simply cooked, soft and creamy tasting - perfect. My partner had an excellent fish soup. Whilst waiting for the starters we had some superb olives and sun dried tomatoes. Lobster tail pasta and also monk fish served with broccoli and new potatoes were both excellent. Good quality fresh ingredients perfectly prepared made these dishes memorable. To finish we just had to have the homemade tiramisu which again was perfect. A couple of creamy lattes to wash it all down was just the ticket. The prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality of food, service and ambiance. I really can’t think of anything negative to complain about apart from: If only this restaurant was closer to where we lived we could dine at it more often. Do book before you go to avoid disappointment and enjoy.

Booked this restaurant well in advance to coincide will a stay in Stratford to celebrate my wife's 65th birthday. I emailed the restaurant to advise them of the reason for our visit and requested a quite table. Unfortunately when we arrived shown to a table in area packed with tables with very vocal and noisy groups. At no point did the restaurant even acknowledge my wife's birthday. The prices in this restaurant seem somewhat on the high side, basically one of their cheapest main courses each and a bottle of wine came to well over £60 and the food provided was at best average. We where very disappointed with the ambiance and the overall experience and would not go again.

We visited this restaurant for a,special birthday celebration, requested a quiet table for a romantic meal however we were place next to 2 tables with diners shouting at each other to be heard! The food was average at best, very expensive and when asked if everything was OK I mentioned a few potatoes were black and inedible ( you only get a very small portion) the waitress laughted. In all wouldn't recommend if you want a quiet high quality meal , not a noisy canteen with tablecloths. 😃

Not been to this place for many years, but it was exactly the same. Still run by an Italian family, with the decor being authentic and traditional. We hadn't booked, but as luck would have it we had the last table in the reception area. I would strongly advise you to book a table as within 20 mins of us arriving, 3 more couples came in on the off chance of getting a table. Being a traditional restaurant, there is a good selection of fish and meat dishes. I went with the classic tomato and mozzarella starter, followed by a veggie tagliatelle dish and finished off with dessert. We will definitely visit again as the staff were so lovely, The only negative comment i will make is that the toilets are very outdated and basic, which is a shame because everything else was great

From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome; the service was attentive but not overwhelming. We came for a pre show meal and went the whole hog; indulging in aperitifs, starters, main, desert, and coffees. We also enjoyed bread with olive oil, olives and sun dried tomato, a bottle of Chianti, and table water. I have to say everything was delicious. My main course of Guinea Fowl deserves a special mention and will live long in the memory. As too will the moist, delicious bread with pomegranate seeds. I can’t say I’ve ever had the ‘perfect meal’, but this was as close as it’s come. Lovely ambiance, too.

#SorrentoRestaurant We phoned the restaurant to advise we were running late by five minutes, and when we arrived we were taken straight to our table of six. Everything was going swimmingly until we were asked to leave our table before ordering deserts. The reason given was that all restaurants in Stratford have a 2 hour policy as the table is booked out again. The request to leave the table, and order desert was ahead of the 2 hours by fifteen minutes. We were told to order deserts and eat them in the front lounge which we declined. We expressed our disappointment, and due to the fact the head waiter (owners were to afraid) to address this matter I feel that if we were not such burley guy’s with their partners the staff would have taken this outside to settle. Never again shall we visit this restaurant as locals, and I can assure you if you upset the staff and cannot handle yourself, you will be confronted and intimidated in front of guests.

Let me start by saying the food here was very nice, this is indisputable. Service started well with nice guy on the desk and our waitress was good too. We had a lovely evening until it came to receiving the bill. I had a small glass of wine which we were charged £8.20 for which frankly is absurd. But worse, my husband had 2 x bottles of Peroni which were also charged at £8.20 each. We live near London and I have never paid that much for a beer in my life - restaurant or not. I’m willing to pay over the odds for drinks in a restaurant but we felt this really did take the mickey and ended up walking out angry after pointing this out and feeling belittled for doing so with one of the other waiters muttering something under his breath. It’s total robbery and we felt we were being taken advantage of especially as I’m pretty sure this is not the price advertised in the menu. Our meal was £88 for 2 courses. The scallops were sliced thinly in the main so they don’t need to give you as many, it’s little things like this that they hope you don’t notice but want to charge full whack for. My advice would be eat the food but don’t drink out of principal. The woman sat in the middle of the restaurant doing her paperwork (aka counting her money) with a tiara on kind of added insult to injury too!

What a lovely restaurant. From the moment you entered the restaurant the attentive staff ensured you had a lovely experience. The food was lovely and plentiful. We had the Cozze con pomodoro (Mussels in tomato) and the Mozzarella Milanese (Breaded mozzarella} for starters. The main course was Penne Arrabbiata and Pollo alla Milanese. The staff were so friendly and there was a lovely ambience about the place. Service was at just the right place, so you didn't feel rushed at any time. It is certainly a restaurant we would visit again next time we are in Stratford. Thanks very much for making our evening so lovely.
