Great restaurant. They made us feel welcome and we had a lovely spot in the restaurant. There was a table with 3 young men swearing. This was off putting. The service was friendly and good. The food was hot and plenty. I enjoyed the meal....Paid parking outside. When we asked for the bill we were overcharged. However, we noticed and they were apologetic.More
Absolutely brilliant. Group of 8 of us on a fairly busy evening. You wouldn't have known that there were other large groups and several smaller tables occupied. Great food and fab service and great value.
Really had a lovely meal at saffron with with my work colleague last night. Booked at table for 8.30 and when arrived the restaurant was full and had a lovely weekend vibe. Had a mix choice of chicken, lamb and seafood order that was recommended...by a small waiter not sure of this name. The evening was nearly spoilt as the table of 5 sitting next to us was mistreating the waiters by ripping and hiding the bill and making the waiters look for the bill, the manager had presented a dummy bill for £500 which made the rude man pull out the ripped bill from his pocket. How embarrassing really felt sorry for the ladies who seemed so embarrassed by silly behaviour by old immature man. Thank god the manger got rid of the guest.More
I was part of a coach party booked in to the restaurant on Saturday 9th September. When we arrived everyone from the coach was already seated, which left my small party of nine guests. It was apparent that there had not been the right amount...of seats allocated for us as there were only a few seats remaining but the manager/owner was extremely rude and told us to ask the other guests to move. We tried to explain that there still would not be the right amount of seats for all of us but he was very rude and dismissive. The restaurant was completely empty apart from the coach party and we would have eaten and been on our way before his evening diners arrived but he was extremely rude with no willingness to put right his mistake so we left the restaurant. I sincerely hope his young waiters don't follow his example!!More
We had arranged three tables of 12 totalling 36 guests however as the guests arrived they sat down spreading over the 3 tables of 12 which ment the last 9 guests was required to sit wherever seats was available. The guest demanded to sit together...More
I have eaten in a LOT of Asian restaurants, and this has to be my favourite yet. My husband and I found Saffron Gold as we were exploring Warwick and whilst we were reading the menu outside (it was morning, and closed) a lady stopped...and said it was the best Indian in town. We tend to be sceptical, but we thought we would give it a try. We didn’t book - we couldn’t remember what it was called or know the street it was on, but we went early so managed to get a table. Although only 6.30, the place was pretty busy. We then had a problem. The menu is extensive - what to choose? When the food came, the portions were very generous and the quality excellent. I had a starter and then the lamb biryani which came with a sauce packed with beautifully cooked vegetables. I counted 7 different veg in there. All through, the staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. I only sad because we couldn’t eat everything- it was so delicious but too much (shouldn’t have had the starter). 100% would come back if we return to Warwick.More
We called into this restaurant as a “walk in” on a Friday night and were extremely lucky that they were able to accommodate us. Please book it is worth it. I have never seen such a hardworking and efficient group of waiting staff. It was...very busy but we were served quickly and the food was delicious. Would certainly recommend.More
Everything from the warm welcome to the amazing food was outstanding. We’ve eaten a lot of Indian and sub continental foods but this was def top 10. We ate the onion bhaji and tandoori chicken to start, 2 lamb curries and desert.
Booked on line and on arrival there were empty tables, but bot for long its very busy. The staff are excellent, attentive and friendly. The food was very good, best onion bhaji I have ever had. We both had shashlik which was delicious and very...different. Nice that they had non alcoholic beer as my friend’s medication stops her drinking. Will definitely come again.More
Excellent food, excellent service, attentive staff. The restaurant is clearly popular it was packed all evening. Would definitely recommend
Amazing food and service. So busy and good quality food. Walked in and had availability even though it was very busy. Spices were spot on an nan bread to die for
Excellent service and one of the best Indian meals I have had. Extensive menu. Food was first class. The restaurant is very nice interior kept very clean and well presented. Staff accomodating and helpful. Well done all..5*
Very good, service and food spot on.. Will definitely visit again when in the area. Nice clean and tidy restaurant.
We visited on a Saturday night and it was very busy. Really good food, especially the paneer tawa which was very unique in its flavour. Nice sized naan, not massive but enough for two people to easily manage without feeling too full. Lovely friendly staff...and pleasant background music. We sat to the left of the bar furthest from the door and I could feel a cold draught down my back every time someone came or went which wasn't great and so take a cardigan or jacket just in case. We are both vegetarian and had lots of choice. Desserts had pictures to describe them which reminds me of visiting Spain in the 80s and so we always avoid them. Parking outside at charge but it always seems full. There are a few free but limited free spots nearby or paid for car parks. Overall a good experience but if you're a curry fan, also check out Warwick Spice.More
We visited after attending the races but hadn’t had chance to book. We were found a table even though it was busy and were treated like vips throughout. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was the best we have ever tasted....Particularly loved the spicy creamy style curry. Many thanks.More
