We had been gifted an afternoon tea for two at the Thomas Oken Tea Room and took the opportunity to go on a midweek afternoon. We had been advised to book a table in advance however, because of the time of year and time we were going, the restaurant was actually fairly quiet. Thomas Oken Tearoom is both quirky ,and welcoming and there is plenty of room in the small rooms to sit comfortably without rubbing elbows with people sitting next to you. For £26, our tea for two included hand made sandwiches with a good choice of fillings and salad and crisps, a huge cream fruit scone, a choice of homemade cake, and a choice of pot of tea for each of us. Our visit was wonderfully unhurried and the service was super friendly. If you get a chance to visit, please do, it's wonderful

We stumbled upon this tea room after spending the morning in warwick castle and it didnt disappoint. The tea room has done an amazing job at being covid secure and we felt very safe. Social distance measures were in place whilst ordering and seating outside was ample to social distance. Although it was raining on and off we were able to take shelter under the eves of the tea room and ordered our fare. I stumped for the ploughmans lunch and my partner the beans and coast which was a breakfast option but they were more than happy to accommodate our request and we ordered a latte and a squash to drink. The food was lovely and a perfect light lunch to continue our day. Both women who served us were pleasant and very welcoming. When comming to pay for meal this was done easily and safely through the front of the tea room where we also ordered some takeaway coffee cake which we had later in the day which was delicious. All in all if your in the area please give this place a look and stop for a coffee or lunch it's well worth it and support these ladies, in difficult times they are giving it a real go and doing a good job of it.

I’ve been three times now, once for tea and cake and twice for afternoon tea for special occasions. On all visits the service has been great. Prices are about right for the setting and quality of the food, most is made in their kitchens. Warm scones with clotted cream and jam, sandwiches made with the best quality fillings with so much flavour (we had egg mayo and ham) and bread which I must say was amazing, soft on the inside and crunchy on outside but not tough to eat. Also with a side salad all on a tired cake stand. Accompanied with pot of tea/ coffee and finished off with a piece of cake of your choice which doesn’t have to chosen until you’re ready. Good portions so my advice is go on an empty stomach as you’ll eat it all! I would definitely be back for a nice treat.

We were delighted to once again be visiting the Oken Tea Rooms which for us is best independent tea shop in Warwick. Jo has done a great job getting the tea shop running again outside and when the weather is kind what better environment in the shadow of Tudor buildings and the mighty walls and Towers of Warwick Castle to enjoy the delicious home made sandwiches or the scrumptious scones and cakes. But we know it’s not easy for all of our local independent retailers so if you are able do try and visit Oken or favourite cafe of your choice as they need our support as we all want them here when we finally get back to normal.

In close proximity to Warwick castle .Tearoom looked inviting with tables inside and outside . It was quite busy but managed to get a table outside and ordered a light lunch . Soup and a sandwich of my choice . Very satisfied with the hot soup with a most tasty slightly toasted home made bread with salmon together with crisps and salad at a very fair price Sylvia our waitress was full of fun and was meticulous in her service thanks . Well impressed with the tearoom give it a go !

Went there on a Tuesday lunchtime and ordered the afternoon tea. The price was much more reasonable than other afternoon teas we'd had before and the food was delicious. You definitely won't leave hungry and the tea itself washed it down perfectly. Staff were lovely and helpful, and the setting itself is a beautiful old wooden beamed house. We'll certainly be back!

Delicious teatime treats delivered by Jessica, really cheered our day. The traybake collection was amazing, with the chocolate brownie and cake of the day being extremely yummy. The Tartiflette and sausage lasagna, delivered frozen, were also particularly delicious. The savoury dishes, delivered frozen, had very simple and clear instructions on how to re-heat, and were ample portions. Lovely food! A big thank you to Jessica and her staff for delivering to us in these really difficult times. We look forward to trying more of the menu soon.

We'd visited the castle, but didnt like the queues or the prices for food inside, so had a wander around town before returning to the first place we had seen, and we're glad we did. Inside is like a tardis with multiple rooms and areas. We sat in an upstairs room overlooking the street. We chose to have the afternoon tea for two - being a fussy eater when it comes to sauces and condiments in sandwiches this is usually a painful experience having to specify that you'd like a plain sandwich without x, y or z, and getting confused looks from the wait staff as a result. However, here, you were asked up front what you would like, and could choose exactly what you wanted without feeling weird. The scone was delicious, with a nice spiced taste, plenty of jam and cream. The cakes too were yummy, particularly the white choc and raspberry. We left very full and very happy. Staff were hot on the covid precautions, with face masks, hand sanitiser, a good track and trace system, and social distancing was well enforced.

A huge thank you to the staff at Thomas Oken Tea Rooms for supplying and delivering afternoon tea in individual boxes for our dad’s wake. Jo and Jessica were so helpful and kind and knew just what we required at this very upsetting time. The food arrived on time and was fresh and delicious. The fact that we were able to feed all the guests with minimal contact was also a bonus. Thank you once again. Julie and Liz

We visited Thomas Oken tearoom on a Sunday and had sandwiches on crusty granary bread with salad and crisps. It started to drizzle and staff bright out umbrellas and set up a gazebo cover. Hygiene was very good and staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely, popular café!

Myself and my partner visited for afternoon tea,the sandwiches were lovely and fresh with nice fillings and so was the huge scone, which was accompanied with little mini jars of jam and cream, also huge pot of tea easily enough for for us to share. The service was very good from the two the ladies on arrival. I would have given it five stars but our scone wasn’t warm like everyone else’s seem to have been so i’m having a hissy fit over that! 😉 But we will definitely return and hopefully next time my mrs will offer to pay for once!! 🙄😊

We will definitely be returning to this great independent Tearoom when Covid19 restrictions are lifted. We visited as a family and enjoyed different items from the menu. I particularly enjoyed my toastie that came with a very tasty homemade chutney while others had scones. There was also a large range of pretty alluring cakes that I was drawn to and will explore in more depth in future visits. The coffee was also good and I would recommend the mocha that I had it was rich, smooth and delicious. The location is a national treasure and well worth visiting alongside the tearoom, your curiosity will be well rewarded.

A fantastic afternoon tea experience in a beautiful period property. The scones were exceptional with loose leaf tea. Make sure you're hungry, the scones were huge and fresh out of the oven. Wonderful service too

We called in here after a visit to the Castle. We had walked past on the way in and after looking at the food and the price inside, we came here on the way out. We both had a Ploughmans Lunch which had cheese and ham, a pork pie, tasty pickle, salad and lovely fresh bread and butter. We also had a pot of tea each, choosing from a list of at least 20 teas. Would highly recommend.

My wife and I took afternoon tea today at the delightful Thomas Oken Tea Rooms in Warwick. We booked in advance and were shown to our table by one of the delightful waitresses. We were left to look through the plentiful choices of sandwiches, etc. We chose one cheese and one home cured ham sandwiches, two fruit scones and a piece each from the plentiful choice of cakes. Our tea arrived promptly, followed by our food, beautifully displayed on a cake stand. Do not expect the flimsy finger sandwiches that are normally served at other establishments, these were proper sandwiches with two full slices of brown or white bloomer with ample filling. We chose a delicious home cured ham sandwich and an extremely tasty cheese sandwich. The sandwiches were served with salad garnish and crisps. Our fruit scones came warm with ample preserve (or, as would call it, jam) and lovely clotted cream. The cakes were delicious but we were unable to finish them as we were full. The cake left over was wrapped and presented to us to take home to finish later. Throughout our visit the staff were attentive, professional and, importantly, were happy!! If you are looking for an outstanding, tasty and well presented afternoon tea, you should definitely give Thomas Oken Tea Rooms a try.
