We took our lovely 87 year old neighbour here for a birthday lunch. The staff went above and beyond to help us make it special. Our neighbour is a bit fussy with food but said it was the best meal she had in ages and...the cod was as good as her nan used to make when she lived on the continent. Friendly staff, great surroundings, brilliant food.More

THhe four of us wanted some easy but interesting wintertime walks and there is a good selection in 50 Pub Walk in Warwickshire. One starts and finishes at the Tom o the Wood canalside pub just a short distance from Baddesley Clinton National Trust property...and also close to Packwood House. Nicola greeted us by opening the front door for us and showing us to our table - nice large table, plenty of space and very comfortable chairs. A very interesting menu and plenty of choices. A good wine list to match and excellent service throughout from Nicola our watron. The have an excellent chef so we hope they hold on to him. The pub was quite busy, and so far didn't to be suffering too badly from the latest Covid outbreak. We will use them as a base next time for another circular walk in the same area - a good area for winter walks ending with some good quality food.More

What a lovely welcoming pub. We had soup and stilton mushrooms to start, followed by steak and chips for him, and white truffle risotto for me. Several vegetarian choices, and a reasonable wine list, great local beers. Delicious food, lovely old building and great service.we’ll...be back.More

The Tom o the Wood is a beautiful country pub located in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside, you couldn’t wish to visit a more perfect location. We have visited on numerous occasions and it never fails to please. Always welcomed with a wonderful smile...and greeting from the owners Charlie and Chris and all the staff, with extra special hugs for our little dog. The food is fabulous, the portions very generous, you will never leave the Tom hungry. Traditional country cooking with a gorgeous variety of dishes on the specials menu. The Sunday roast is exceptional. Thank you guys for always such a lovely experience, every time we leave we look forward to our next return.More

We decided to try out a new food special at this local pub and so glad we did! The homemade steak and kidney pie was superb as was the risotto. The staff were as always, very friendly and attentive - we’ll be back there again...soon!More

Well AS AWLWAYS Tom o the wood makes space for us… we popped in for a drink… I was hungry as women are haha!! We’ve had a long dog walk… yes of course they are fully booked on a Sunday because their Sunday lunches are...to die for! But we luckily managed to get hut outside. Which is fine for us as we have a dog… and not bad when you’ve been for a big walk! Thank you to Charlie and her staff for putting up with attention seeking lab collie cross! Right too the food.. I had fish pie the last one luckily… yes on a Sunday 🙈… but when you have food at this place you have to get the specials because they amazing and come and go! My partner had the cod, I had fish pie! We would both normally have Sunday lunch but we’ve had it many times at Tom o the wood and it’s always amazing so thought we would try something different ! Really lovely food thank you all.. and the service was amazing thank you so much… my only isssue which was not at your fault was the fact we decided at last minute to pop in… with our fat lab… just out of season we didn’t have any treats and she was “starving” WILL NOT” fault Tom o the wood for our fat pup… but she was a pain in the bum 😂😂😂😂 Im sure Charlie would have sorted treats for her if we had said something 🙈 thanks for amazing food guys! We visited at the weekend and enjoyed the food and wine which were worthy of 9 out of 10. For a real country pub. Unfortunately there were two young waitresses who were not friendly and seemed very disinterested. The front of house lady was excellent...A real shame but perhaps the location compounds difficulties recruiting certain staff at the momentMore

Overall the food was great and it’s a lovely location. However, a particular member of staff was quite miserable and not very friendly. Our bill got basically chucked at us with no acknowledgment to us at all. Like I said, the food was good but...being welcoming and friendly is a must isn’t it?More
