Booked a table for 10 in advanced for 8th feb. Was very accommodating and easy to book. I called on the 7th to add on two extra people, although the resturant was fully booked they didn't say no and lolled to find a way to accommodate. When we arrived the staff were straight away attentive and sat us down The lady that served us was helpful and gave great suggestions from the menu. She also ensured she knew who was the host and checked in with me throughout the night to check everything was good. The food was so good and everyone at the table enjoyed. The tapas style keeps it informal and great for groups. We all had a great night and will be back.

We'd never been anywhere quite like this before, and we loved it! My wife and I initially planned to visit as a couple, but in the end we brought our two older children (14 and 10). We're glad we did, because this is a dining experience best shared in a group. The menu is full of enticing dishes, and the larger your group, the more you can order and share around. Dishes are brought to your table as they are ready. Make sure you save room for deserts too! Prices are reasonable: each of us ordered two mains and a desert and it came to around £18 per head.

Visited with friends for a birthday and had the “High Chai” afternoon tea. It was lovey - all the different dishes were inventive and tasted great (apart from the Bombay sandwich - this was pretty boring in comparison to everything else). The sweet samosa was my favourite. Bottomless masala chai was a winner too! I think £20pp is a little pricey (although we had vouchers for 50% off) but it’s good as a treat. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the staff are always so friendly and helpful (I’ve visited several times).

I really like their concept. Nice food, nice cocktails, like their decor and service. Just feel that if you want to have some really authentic Indian street food you can do better. And cheaper. Especially in Birmingham, one is spoilt for choice if you want Indian chats, street food at a reasonable price. While they are not that expensive, prce wise they are not competitive either. I do like this restaurant's ambiance though and their nice and friendly staff.

The atmosphere was really cool and quirky. Staff were helpful but service was a little slow as was the food but it was a busy Saturday night so not the end of the world. The portion size was decent for tapas, highlights for me was the salmon tikka and the coconut chutney, both were very tasty. I wouldn't recommend the Mogo chips as they were very chewy and kept sticking in my throat.

We like to visit this place regularly, especially for the street food sharing dishes and good value for money. Highlights include the pani puri, samosa chaat and chole bhature. Great introduction to Indian street food for someone who hasn’t tried it, also a worthwhile stop for experienced diners. Both vegetarians and meat eaters can enjoy a satisfying meal here.

Despite gluten free meals being clearly labelled, our waitress still took the time to go into the kitchen and double-check with the chef; returning to our table with a copy of the menu, with items circled by the chef as being safe for me to eat. It made me feel so much more secure that my dietary needs really were in safe hands. Food was absolutely fantastic, and we had a really good night. Already looking forward to our return.

Went here for the first time on Sunday evening with a friend. We really enjoyed it, delicious food, tapas style, we had 5 dishes which was plenty and we were grateful the waitress advised us not to order anymore! lovely atmosphere, chilled, casual cafe-bar style with lovely bright decor. very reasonably priced and great vegan menu. My friend is a chef and was really impressed. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever and I look forward going back and sampling some more things from the menu.

Came last night for a meal on Valentine’s Day as a party of 8 with all my girls friends. The staff were super friendly and could have a joke with you and I loved how chilled the atmosphere was. The food was all amazing especially the aloo tiki chaat! If you are GF it’s fab because all the food is really clearly labelled and the gluten free options are great! We had a fab evening and will definitely be back!

Really impressed with how well they were following social distance rules, extra table added to the normal tables so that there was no leaning over when serving Indian 'tapas'style dishes. Still managed to have a great atmosphere and the food was incredible. There was a reduced menu due to reduced kitchen size but still a great amount of choice and will 100% be returning to enjoy the full menu when possible! For the quality of food, reasonable prices, atmosphere and friendliness of staff, this place is a must!

Zindiya is a great place for Indian street food. Even the decor is set for street food. Service was great. The youngsters who were waiting our table were polite and attentive. Food was tasty and looked inviting. We were pleasantly surprised by the authentic taste of the dosa, as this isn't a South Indian restaurant. Generally non-South Indian restaurants can't get the authentic taste, while some do. This is one such place. They have very interesting drinks on choice as well. We had gone as a family, with family visitors from India. Even they liked the food. The owner came to talk to us and was really warm. Will definitely visit again.

My friend and I were looking for somewhere to eat after a day at Edgbaston watching the cricket. Being in Birmingham, we were excited to enjoy some authentic Indian food as we don’t get much of that where we live. We chose Zindiya based on the location (close to where we had parked) and the menu, which includes many authentic Indian dishes. The decor is interesting and reminiscent of India - such a shame that the food is not! The food came out incredibly quickly (less than 5 mins after ordering). We had chole bathura, kati roll, Amritsari fish, samosa chaat, pav bhaji and chilli chicken. Most if not all of the dishes had clearly not been made fresh to order and were mostly bland. The samosa chaat was decent and the chole bhatura was passable but that was about it. The fish was the most obviously not fresh - there’s no way they had fried that the same day. The kati roll was also particularly poor (just very bland). A million miles a way from real Indian street food. The wait staff were pleasant, but not particularly attentive or knowledgeable about the food. Our young English waitress ‘explained’ the menu to my friend and I (both Indian) calling it ‘like tapas’ and mispronouncing the names of the dishes. In retrospect this was probably a red flag, as was the fact we were the only Indians in the restaurant.

We visited Zindiya for lunch on Sunday. The tables were very far apart and the service had been set up to make sure social distancing was maintained as much as possible. The menu has been reduced as there are fewer staff in the kitchen but there is still plenty of choice. The food when it came was excellent as usual and the waitress was friendly and efficient. All in all a great experience

We were lucky enough to have been gifted a prosecco afternoon High Chai and visited today. Well what can I say - this really lived up to its name as one of the best afternoon teas in Birmingham. Firstly, in advance of our visit the communication from Zindaya was excellent and very accomodating to some personal circumstances. When we arrived we were met at the door, we were the only ones in there for a while but that's because they had only just opened for the afternoon. The lovely waitress explained the menu, bought over our Indian spiced prosecco (unusual but delicious) and then took our tea order, which was served in gorgeous teapots. The first course (savouries) of the afternoon tea was served and each dish explained to us. The food was plentiful and filling - in fact we couldn't finish it! The dessert was served after this again each dish was explained to us, lovely little Indian spiced bites and full sized scones with jam and clotted cream. The restaurant itself is really funky inside and I can imagine at the weekends or later in the evenings would have quite the atmosphere - in fact I can't wait to return to sample to main menu. If there was one criticism (and you really have to search for a criticism) it would be that the music was a little loud.... That's the best I can do!!! Service, food and environment all first class!

We booked the excellent Zindaya with a BuyaGift voucher and could not have been more impressed. The Chai Afternoon Tea was tasty and filling, the service could not have been more attentive, the decor and atmosphere were unusual and interesting. Aloo Tikki Chaat, Bhel Puri, chicken tikka are the savoury course and a cardamon infused scone, biscuit, carrot halva samosa were the sweet course - all excellent. We will be back with the rest of the family soon to sample their evening menu especially the dosas. We've been recommending Zindaya to our friends and hope they make a great success of this venture despite the cost of living crisis.
