Decor was great, lots of interesting wall art and historical facts about Birmingham. Very large open space and can see directly into the kitchen. Very quiet in there, some music would definitely help the atmosphere. Coffee was nice but lukewarm. Limited baked goods on offer...but we did arrive later in the day so there is probably more in the morning. There are lots of vegan and vegetarian breakfast and lunch options which is good! Overall an average experience.More

This place is a great addition to the Jewellery Quarter. It has been open for a couple of years and goes from strength to strength. The chalk board has 3 options for the day including nutritious soups, homemade pizza, fabulous vegetables cooked imaginatively. Good food...served with a smile in an atmosphere of contemporary warehouse chic and an intellectual clientele :)More
Charming little cafè attached to the museum. They have a micro garden on the roof which sources all the food. Had a lovely triple cheese quiche with rosemary and garlic foccacia, the grain salad accompanying it was also very yummy!
We celebrated a 70th birthday at The Hive. I cannot fault anything - every little detail had been anticipated and taken care of. We had a fused glass workshop for 16 of us, followed by a tour of the building, which was amazing, and then...some drinks and snacks and birthday cake. The venue was brilliant and the staff were so helpful and flexible and made the day very enjoyable and a great success. We will certainly be visiting there again.More
My husband popped in for a late lunch by chance - we've been meaning to try this place for a while but it's slightly off the beaten track and doesn't open at week-ends. We were very impressed by what we found and could not recommend...it more: - the space is simple but clean and nicely decorated with works from local artists - the food is tasty and very well priced - the cafe serves as a training opportunity for the local college - they try very hard to minimise their environmental impact: some of the food is grown above the building using compost made from left-over food and I didn't notice any plastic / single-use items - there are options for a variety of dietary needs All in all I wish there were more places like these - keep up the good work!More
All the food is home made and organic, much from the micro farm on the roof of the building or nearby suppliers. You order at the counter and they prepare it and bring it to the table. Good coffee, cakes and bread. A good place...for breakfast or lunch.More
Absolutely beautiful salmon and scrambled eggs on croissant, delicious coffee and friendly attentive staff. Definitely recommend the new breakfast menu at this JQ gem!
My hairdresser knew I was a foodie and couldn’t wait to tell me about this place. The food is exceptional, all homemade, organic and cooked fresh all day. Walked in for a spot of breakfast, lovely menu and decided to have the pancakes, with fresh...blueberries, crispy dry cured organic bacon, maple syrup, almonds and ground coffee just to add that certain ‘je ne sais quoi’....what a fabulous dish. My partner and I are blown away. The cafe is spotless too and the icing on the cake is the lovely staff. A special thank you to Johnathan for his lovely smile and friendly service, not forgetting also the attentive service from Don, Mike & Chloe. Will definitely be coming back soon..probably tomorrow;)More
