I have known most of the staff here for over 25 yrs now and have and still am enjoying the most delicious curry they produce. Please do take a trip to Akrhams you wont be disappointed. I work for the NHS and they are supporting us as well as many other key workers with a discount

We went to Akrams on a very busy Saturday night. We had made a reservation although this didn’t seem to make a difference as we were 20mins late and people were seated before us who hadn’t so we had to wait about 20mins for a table to be free. This would usually really irritate me but the excellent food made up for it. My husband and I had a mutton chops and a meat samosa to start followed by a balti karahi each and the biggest (medium size) and most amazing garlic naan bread we have ever tried. You don’t need starters rice each and naan unless you have massive stomachs! It is bring your own booze which is great and there is an excellent off license opposite with wine and nice craft beers. The restaurant was hectic but felt very authentic and the food quality was fantastic. Our bill was £42 so excellent value for money! We will definitely visit again next time we are in Birmingham

If you want to eat the best Asian food in Birmingham, this is the place for you. The taste of the food is far superior than any place you would have ate at before. The Akrams special chicken tikka naan is a perfect blend tastes worth travelling across the country for. Top class curry dishes and beyond your highest expectations of service quality. The management are by far the most friendly staff members you will never have the pleasure of experience serving you. Highly recommend to anyone that wants a reasonably priced, Halal, top quality dine out with friends or family.

With everything that is going on, Akrhams has yet again stepped up to the mark, and provided a beautiful takeaway option so my key worker wife can still get her monthly curry fix. Food was bang on as always, packaged well and all piping hot even after my 10minute drive home.
All appropriate food safety and personal safety precautions, wait outside, member of the team comes out greets you takes your order number (pre order on the phone) takes payment and leaves bags at door for contact less collection. Still as friendly and as caring as ever from 2 meters away. Keep up the great work guys.

We had a delicious meal as usual from Akram's during the lockdown. Order was taken over the phone promptly and we were given an order number and collection time and you just wait outside the restaurant as they can see you from the window and come out to you and ask you your number. You can pay card or cash and they have hand sanitiser for you to you use. The whole process was well organised and the food was delicious especially the Kashmiri Fish, Balti Chicken Tikka Masala and Cheese Naan. Well done Ifti and the team at Akram's. We'll be back soon!

My husband has been going for over 25 years to Akrams. He introduced me to this wonderful family owned business a few years back and it’s at the top of my list when we are eating out. The food is always piping hot and really fresh and delicious and the staff cannot do enough for you. You won’t be disappointed. Already thinking about our next visit And we only went yesterday 😋 lots of love baldy and wife ❤️

This was my 3rd visit to Akrams, and it was after a long break, because of Covid19. On my other 2 visits, I had eaten chicken tikka with salad, which was just nicely spiced, hot and fresh. Yesterday afternoon on a visit with my hubby, I decided to try a balti for the first time at Akrams. Oh my word. It was delicious. I had chosen chicken and mushroom balti, and asked for cauliflower to be added. I ate every bit. The chicken fell apart, it was so tender, and the cauliflower and mushrooms were cooked perfectly. My only tiny criticism would be that my naan bread was a little crispy in the middle, not as soft and doughy as I would have liked, and also my husband requested a Coke, but was bought a Cobra beer, which he was too shy to ask to change. My hubby had a meat balti, but as he had had one too many beers at Stirchley's Attic Brew Co earlier, he didn't eat much! He did say that it was tasty, though, and the meat was tender. We did think it was quite expensive for balti, being £30 for two, with only one beer and no starters except poppadoms, but would visit again, as you do certainly get what you pay for here in terms of quality of ingredients and preparation. Staff were very efficient but could have been a bit friendlier. Wheelchair access for myself was a little tricky, but we managed. It's a shame that the raised part of the pavement at the entrance couldn't have been made into more of a ramp.

Was really looking forward to our meal tonight having travelled up from London and picking this restaurant. We were in there for less than an hour, from the first minute we were being rushed and it made us feel really awkward. Food arrived a few minutes after it was ordered, it was not hot and had no real flavour. The table had very little space on it due to all the clutter on it. Really disappointed.

The takeaway meal orders are mostly handled by the owner who presides with efficiency and commitment to satisfying the needs of customers. The telephone is promptly answered when making an order by phone. The food is reckoned to be the best of its kind in Birmingham. There is quite a sizeable number of regularly customers.

Due to the lockdown in place we were unable to visit the restaurant. Called on Friday evening to see if we could get a takeaway and after a long, tough week, we were so pleased we could. From the phone call through to delivery the service was as ever the right mix of friendly and professional (we paid over the phone and our delivery was left on the drive so no contact was made). The food was absolutely delicious and lived up to the high standard we always experience when eating in Akrams. Looking forward to the left overs later!! Can’t recommend them enough. As long as they can deliver during this very uncertain time we will be ordering and very much looking forward to the day we can eat in the restaurant again. Thank you to all the staff at Akrams. Please stay safe and well.

We tried to order on Friday for a home delivery, the phone line was constantly busy between 5.30 - 6.30pm, great news that they were so busy, we messaged them to say we couldn't get through and was given a mobile number to call direct. Unfortunately by this time we had already eaten from the freezer :-(
I called the mobile at 5pm Saturday,placed my order and it was delivered before 6pm, driver had latex gloves and facemask on, we put the money in the porch, he rung the bell left the meal in the porch, excellent service, curries were lovely.... definitely be ordering again..... thank you so much.

As me and my family are Indian and regularly cook our own curries, it means we can be overly critical to Indian restaurants. Akrams has always provided amazing quality food at really reasonable prices.
The staff are friendly and lovely and create a nice, warm, welcoming atmosphere. It’s as nice to have a family meal as it is to have a date night.
The takeaway deals are very good value - with a starter, main, naan and rice for only £10 collection in cash.
My fiancé and I are regulars at Akrams as we love the consistent quality of the great food. Would recommend.

Ordered a takeaway from here as a special treat to celebrate what should have been Children’s last day at school (pre-coronavirus). I wanted to put together a nice selection of dishes as a surprise and the Manager was really helpful advising what dishes would compliment each other. Ordering was quick and easy, as was collecting from the door, staff were wearing masks and gloves and payment was contactless. When I got the food home it was still hot, well cooked and nicely presented. The salads were fresh and there were plenty of the lovely dips to go with the starters. Poppadums were crunchy and the Naans were large and fresh. My family were delighted and it really cheered them up at this difficult time. I have to say that this restaurant isn’t local to me, there are plenty of others that are closer but we have been coming here for years and the quality has always been consistently high so it was worth the trip!!

As we all know the times are very trying at the moment and socialising is not allowed but you still get great service with great food available for takeaway. Still the same high standard of food and great food to look forward to at home. Collection only but staff all have protective clothing and orders are brought out to you. If your feeling like you need some excellent food to cheer you up try Akrams you won’t be disappointed. Keep Safe

Visited this restaurant many times over the last 20 years, fantastic food and great service. They cater for my husband who is Coeliac and are on hand to give advice about the food he can eat. Lovely to see the support they have given the NHS due to Covid 19 delivering food to hospitals well done 👍 recommend highly.
