Really busy for a Tuesday evening which was a good sign. Mixed Tandoori Grill sharing starter was fantastic, no fat to be seen and tasty with a nice heat on the lips and fire in the belly. Great spot, we were passing and thought we would give it a try and will definitely visit again. Great service, food was lovely tasted homecooked and not heavy with the usual layers of oil and packet masalas we often see. The grill said for 2...but very generous portion. The gobi manchurian was delicious and crispy. The pubjabi chicken just the right spice and cooked to profection. Naan not the usual thin and crispy falling apart but wholesome, enjoyed very much. First time here and would definitely recommend; ideal for the M5 if you’re travelling and want to stop off for a meal. This is my second visit to Takaa Tak in the past 3 months. First visit was with my work group (10 of us) and second with friends (5 of us). All of the people I visited here with all said the same thing, the food...was prepared fresh, it was served hot, food was tasty, they served good size portions and most of all it was reasonable priced! Well Done to Buldev (the owner) on having such a great restaurant on the outskirts of Birmingham. I am from Solihull, and I would definitely drive to this place in a heart beat with more of my family and friends to experience such great and tasty food! Not only that, but I would like to shout out to Aman, our main waitress who was fantastic and resolved an issue with my order. I had told the younger waitress Marian that I wanted the 'Prawn Curry' and instead of asking me which one from the menu, she automatically assumed I meant the chef's special masala tawwa. It was my fault as well for not giving her the actually one that I wanted which was the 'Jalfrazi Prawn Curry' which was so lovely, tasty and spicy (my fav and I was looking forward to it all day). However, Aman sorted it, she went back to the kitchen, with no fuss, and brought me out the jalfrazi prawn curry that I really wanted. I was a little dubious as to how it came out so quick, but after speaking to Buldev afterwards, he said if someone else has ordered it on another table then we serve that first to the customer who is already being served. I was soooo happy with the service that Aman and Buldev had given to me and my friends on that evening. The only thing that needs to be addressed and needs to be approved, is the service we had from Marian and Zara, they need to more assertive. We had to call them over when we wanted more drinks, to take our mains order, our dessert order and also ask for our bill. They were too busy standing around and talking with each other and not paying attention to the people (guests) in the restaurant which let our experience down. But I am stil giving this place a 5 star because of Aman, Buldev, the food being tasty, it came out hot and the portions were a good size. Well worth the money we spent on the night!More

Planned a 50th Birthday at takka tak and it was brilliant. The staff, food, and atmosphere was amazing !!

We were here for a family meal seating about 20 of us in the private room. The food and service were outstanding. The staff were constantly checking on us which was much appreciated even though the main restaurant was busy too. The food was a...9.5 out 10 for portion size, taste and authenticity. Because of the National West Midlands bus strikes, we couldn't go too far to dine out tonight. So it was our first time to Takaa Tak (10 minutes walk from home) and it didn't disappoint. It probably helped that we were quite hungry to start...with. We had some poppadoms to start with whilst waiting for our mains. It came with a 3-tray dip - mint yoghurt, mango chutney and chilli and garlic 'tomatoey-like' dip. All tasty. I had Chilli garlic soya chap (vegan) with steamed basmati rice, whilst my partner had chicken karahi with cheese naan. Absolutely delicious, and all the plates were cleaned out. The only minor downside was the portions were a little small (my partner has a bigger appetite than me), and I would've liked to have a vegan dessert to finish. However, I was quite impressed by the Masala diet coke from the 'Desi drinks' section - a unique taste. The serving staff were efficient, and we waited a bit longer for our mains. Not a bad thing because you need a break between courses. The waiters were very attentive and always with a smile. The atmosphere was buzzing when we walked in (quite busy) but it calmed down a bit as the evening wore on. The music was in keeping with the decor and values held by the owners. Overall, we were very satisfied with the quality of the food at a reasonable cost (less than £30). It's been a while since we dined in an Indian restaurant, so this was a great experience.More

Have recently been to have a curry and they have great menu to choose from, when food arrived it was hot (temperature) and fresh. The food was delicious and could taste the spices from curry I had, this was third time I have been and...will come back, great service as well.More

Had a lovely meal on Saturday night while in Brum. The food was top quality, came quick and amazing and attentive service. I'm glad we chose this place over other highly rated ones. I'm gonna go there again on my next visit. Aloo kulcha and...daal makhni were divine and kadak moms veg chaat was superb.More

Visited Sunday evening with family. Was fairly quiet. Starters came quickly and were quite nice but very small portions. Waited 45 minutes for mains to come, was like they forgot about us. Again very small portions. Music was too loud, left with a headache and...still hungry. Avoid.More

Amazing authentic and traditional Indian cuisine. Reasonable price and fantastic service. FYI great cocktails
