We have used this restaurant on several occasions. Although it is definitely not a cheap night out, we have enjoyed the food, ambience and convenience of eating within the theatre and being able to return to our table during the interval. Last night, everyone in...More

This restaurant used to be good ten years ago. Over the past five years however, it has deteriorated both in the standard of food and service and we will no longer go to this restaurant before the show. The meal costs around £50 per head...More

We booked a table at the Circle Restaurant before seeing Welsh National Opera's performance of Un Ballo in Maschera. It was our first visit to the Hippodrome Theatre, and indeed our first visit to Birmingham, so we wanted to be certain that we would be...More

The team always try their best - lovely food - and a great chance to relax pre-show because its guaranteed that you'll get to your seats on time. We thoroughly enjoyed the menu, limited, but delicious - and love the luxury of returning to our...More

I treated a friend on Valentines day to a birthday meal before seeing Swan Lake at The Hippodrome. The meal was not value for money and mediocre at best.

Limited menu but it changes for each show, however everything is delicious and beautifully presented. Staff are lovely and helpful and it is ideal for a pre theatre meal and interval table. We visited for Mathew bournes swan lake - I had a pork with...More

My friend and I visited here for lunch before seeing swan lake. We chose the 2/3 course set meal. We chose the salad starter which I could have fitted in the palm of my hand! About 7 leaves and 29 pomegranates, very boring. I then...More

We were attending the Pantomime (Peter Pan) with the awesome Matt Slack, and decided to make a full evening of it by booking a table for 5.30pm. At first we thought we would have time to spare, but the staff gauged it really well. Special...More

Dinner with friends before the panto. It was busy. Food was OK, though not special and, for what it was, quite expensive. Though we had a good time, the service wasn’t up to scratch (and this may have been because there weren’t enough staff, though...More

As befits a dining venue connected to a major theatre, the Circle restaurant serves food with a distinct creative vein running through it. It is definitely a case of food as artistry full of splodges, spurts, spots and emulsions and reductions here, rather than a...More

Yes. We normally have tea during the interval still served at our table. Another nice aspect is that you can leave your coats in the restaurant so don't have to queue up to get them back from cloakroom.
