Carter's has a relaxed atmosphere. The food is inventive but several courses really didn't hit the mark for me (or fellow diners). The coffee ceremony is pure theatre but the resulting coffee is not particularly special. Given the number of fine dining options in Birmingham I really don't think I'd spend my £150 here again (Total bill for 4 with... More

We booked a table for a joint birthday celebration. We had the 6 course taster menu with wine pairing. Very expensive but the service was exceptional from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was very relaxed and all of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about everything from the food and drink through to the bowls and plates (- handmade... More

My wife booked a table for my birthday. From being greeted to the background and history of each dish, we were wow'd at every turn. Service was on another level. Absolutely faultless from start to finish. Stand out dish has to be the duck. Just WOW. Not cheap but worth every penny.

The food didn't blow me away with flavour but good. The ambiance is very relaxed and the waiting staff are good. Very knowledgeable and the fact that all ingredients are locally sourced was a plus point for us. For the price I would not expect to have to lay my own napkin on my lap. Having eaten in many Michelin... More

Couldn't fault the service but drinks prices were ridiculous for small glasses of wine. The taster menu is preceeded by some snacks - one which nearly made me vomit in my mouth! I guess cod roe isn't for everyone. The others were nice textures but not particularly tasty. The overall theme seemed to be fresh, locally sourced food which was... More

The decor is beautiful and stylish, with a very relaxed atmosphere. The staff are knowledge about the food they serve. The itself is very different, so be prepared.

I took my girlfriend to Carters of Moseley as we had not been before and had visited other fine dining restaurants previously, so we came here as an open book. From the get go as I was parking in front of the restaurant we were already greeted by smiling staff warmly through the windows as I displayed my horrible parking... More

Superb eight course meal including one of the best dishes I have tasted. We visited on a Saturday night, having of course booked well in advance! The service was initially a little less formal than we expected, not being shown to our table, but just being pointed towards it. No real area for pre-dinner drinks. However during the evening service... More

My wife booked this place after seeing Brad Carter on the TV. We had the 8 course tasting menu and matched wine. The snacks were just great, Chicken Liver Cereal stood out for me and consisted of a Pate beneath a crisp cereal topping. Next came the Mackerel and this was faultless. A real treat for the taste buds The... More

To celebrate my dads 60th our merry bunch attended carters for an all action dinner. The service was fantastic and really helped make the event. The food was also absolutely incredible. It is clear to see why this place is rated so highly. Real care and attention was taken with the drinks pairings and there were some really pleasant surprises!... More
