The Karczma is an experience from as soon as you enter the restaurant. You are seated on wooden tables and benches with sheepskin rugs. The staff were lovely and happy to help and advise on menu choices. We opted to share some Russian Mixed Dumplings between us (3 of us). They were a mix of meat, cabbage and potato. All... More

I went to Poland on holiday in 2009 and I had wonderful memories of the Polish food so I was very excited about visiting this restaurant in Birmingham. It didn´t disappoint me at all, excellent Polish food, great quality and large portions. The atmosphere also brough very nice memories of local restaurants in Krakow. Very friendly staff and great value... More

From the moment I stepped inside this place I felt like I had been transported to a little slice of Poland, despite never having been there! The staff were very welcoming and traditional live music was playing in the bar. We were shown to our table by Dejvid who politely joked that we should go easy on him as it... More

On a cold fall evening just go with the Black Soup... Such a friendly warm atmosphere with a great staff. The menu is in Polish and English and most of the other customers won't reading the the second part, which is a great thing! The food was wonderful!!!

I have been watching this restaurant for a while now, having seen it recommended by critics and it being publicised on the BBC, and now it being highly rated on Trip Advisor. Normally this isn't my kind of food, I'm not a huge fan or stews and joint roasts etc. However, having a huge craving for stewed meat, I thought... More

I thought we would give this a try as it was something different and I am so glad we did. The food is fresh and good hearty winter food with good portions. There was a band playing which made me feel like I was on my holidays especially with the authentic decor. Definitely will be returning and would throughly recommend

I visited for lunch on a quiet Saturday afternoon. The staff were friendly and the food was just something else. Hearty rye soup served in a hollowed out crusty loaf of bread, followed by a main course of chicken stuffed with mushrooms and cheese, served with mash and salad. The portions were enormous, and I could taste the quality and... More

Description
The Karczma is a traditional Polish restaurant, bar and grill located in the heart of Birmingham, just 5min walk from both the Bull Ring Shopping Centre and Moor Street Rail Station.

Restaurant is decorated in the style of an old Polish country cottage seating 85 people across 2 rooms.

The menu is designed to reflect a homely, hearty and rustic food that's quintessentially Polish, and prepared using only the very best quality ingredients.

The menu contains numerous Polish classics including Pierogi (stuffed dumplings), Berszcz (Beetroot soup), Pickled Herring, Zurek (Pickled Rye Flour Soup) served from a hollowed out loaf of bread, as well as a whole host of grilled meats and fish.

We wish you a pleasant stay and Enjoy !!!
