Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Me and my new wife decided to have our wedding reception here on 14/10/23 and it was everything we could have ever wished for. The staff were amazing in every single way with the drinks, setting the room up, the decorations and the food was...so good and a great selection and they we're there whenever we needed them, a massive thank you to the manager Lana who went above and beyond to make sure everything we asked for was done perfectly and making sure that the night went smoothly and going above and beyond all night. I would highly recommend hiring the venue for your event as we were truly blown away by the service we received. Thank you so much for making the night so special!More

Can’t express how fabulous this gem of a cafe is. Great menu (veggie choices) and a beautiful vibe. We ate outside and frankly, it was magical even at 11.30am! If I lived in the area it would be a “go to” cafe. Perfect for coffee,...brunch or lunch.More

I had heard good things about this place many many years ago and have been wanting to try it for ages - and I wasn’t disappointed! The setting is lovely - you enter through a small and quirky plant shop, past a craft and gift...shop and into a small sunny courtyard with a few outdoor tables to the main cafe. The menu is simple but perfect for a reasonably priced light lunch - they also had lots of delicious looking cakes - and an unexpectedly long list of milkshake flavours. My 3 fussy kids were delighted with the options on offer - omelettes, sausage and chips and the all day breakfast and my husband and I enjoyed the Eggs Benedict and Florentine respectively - my only criticism that it seems they forgot to toast the English muffins! The food was well cooked and presented though and the service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be going back.More

Friday afternoon shopping with a friend bought us to this wonderful cafe/Restaurant/Music venue, we had visited some years back and pleased to see it’s still a great place for a rest or chat. Everyone of the staff were excellent, the drinks we had delicious and...plenty of seating for all, its a music venue some evenings and the toilets were clean and tidy.. recommended.More

Strange and quirky cafe/bistro that doubles also as a garden centre by day and a cosy little venue, called Fletchers, at night. The metal containers on the tables that hold the cutlery need renewed as they are covered in rust, which can't be hygenic. The...cafe closes in the afternoon and Fletchers bar opens in the evening and is accessed from a different doorway. Alcohol is bought at the bar then taken through to the cost little venue that seats around 100. It's a great little space for live music. The bar staff are friendly and were up for a bit of banter as soon as they heard our Scottish accents.More

Cute café but can be hit and miss unfortunately. Booked for Sunday lunch, arrived and shown to table but when we went to order it turned out they'd actually sold out of all non veggie roasts (except for one, which didn't help with a party...of four booked for Sunday lunch!) - not sure why there was no mention of this on arrival and why there were still signs on the street advertising the roasts? I sent a polite Facebook message asking if it was normal to sell out of roasts so early in the day and if there was any way to find out before arriving for a booking next time - the response? An angry face emoji!!!!!!? There were some service issues during the visit also, including some attitude when asking for hot water to be able to warm up a baby bottle which was pretty surprising. I've read some other reviews mentioning a decline in service over the years and this experience has definitely left a sour taste, clearly some immaturity at the management level.More

I really like this venue, it’s one of my favourite in Birmingham, but sadly the food is very basic and not worth going out for. It has a lovely courtyard seating area and a characterful restaurant, with a nice entrance through a garden shop. I...really really wish they would totally re-think the kitchen and food menu as it could be soooo much better. Hopefully one day they will. When they do I’ll be there everyday as I love the place. Please management think about it!More

Popped in on Sunday, remembering fond memories of this from a while back. Ordered two breakfasts from the counter and drinks and was immediately hit with a demand for a tip, which I gave. The drinks then took an age to arrive and were wrong....The (rather expensive) babychino had no marshmallows and my Cappuccino had become an Expresso. When I pointed this out the waitress said: "Well. That's what it says on the ticket. If you want a different drink you'll need to go pay for it." Somewhat soured the experience. Lovely location, food fine but overpriced and service: well, I see why they ask for that tip upfront...More

Me and my friend I have been to this cafe several times when visiting Kings Heath.. previous occasions we have loved the food and staff and the atmosphere .. When we went this time after about a year of not having visited, I personally felt...a little disappointed, we weren't shown to a table, there is no longer table service, prior to.this visit we were given a menu woth the specials on it as we both wanted fish and chips but could not see it, so had something else. I had Hallumi Salad, with a side order of chips, which i got about 5 of , a few wete hard and not cooled enough .. we chose not to have a pudding, disappointed because they had run out of Redbush tea... on the way out, we saw a specials board, which was hidden away, so you could hardly see it, and on there, it said fish and chips again, slightly disappointed we had not seen it or had the specials pointed out to us .. the venue was also cold inside ...More

Visited recently for a wedding party. Venue looked very nice and homely but was really cold throughout our stay. Food came out all at different times so some guests had finished before others had started, food was quite disappointing and basic. Staff friendly and doing...their best. A nice venue, would visit again for drinks but not food.More

The food was good, when it arrived, and prices reasonable. All the staff seem to be pleasant cheery people. The problem was the service. I thought 2 hours parking for lunch would be sufficient, but I had to go out and replenish the meter! After...waiting the best part of half an hour to order, my hungry friend went to the desk. There was another lengthy wait for the meal, and a slight mistake was quickly rectified. Another interminable wait for our plates to be cleared until we realised that if we wanted tea we’d have to plead at the desk again. At which point I scurried off to pay for extra parking and still got back to hot tea. No one expects snappy service at the KG, but this was unacceptable.More

We hosted a wedding party celebration here and it was a wonderful experience for all involved. The advice and preparation we received from Kate Gale leading up to the day was really personal, and her attention to detail and care was fantastic. The evening was...beautiful - the space was magical, the food was wonderful, and the whole event was a "night to remember". If you are looking for somewhere special to hold a party and dance the night away you cannot go wrong here.More

There is parking on the street but it gets very busy. There is a cheap car park on the main road about 400m away. I used that. Don't be put off. This place is worth it no matter how far you have to walk.
