We visited savanna restaurant with a group of friends and had the best experience trying different Eritrean and Ethiopian dishes. We had the platter for 4 which came with vegetarian and meat on the dish which was delicious and to finish off with the coffee ceremony. Will definitely be coming back and I would recommend anyone for new experience.

A great place to bring a group of friends for a relaxing evening with great food. Beautifully prepared Eritrean/Ethiopian meat and vegetable dishes and a ‘coffee ceremony’ not to be missed to complete our meal.

Brought my sister here when she came to visit me in birmingham... wanted to eat out somewhere new/different. This was a great choice! The lady who owns the restaurant made us our buffet Herself!!! and the whole vibe in there was pure magic. oh also banging value for money! Thank you!

We visited savanna because rather than revisiting more commercial and mainstream restaurants in Birmingham we like new experiences. This was the first time we have tried any African food and it was amazing. I can't say I've ever tried flavours like it, but everything we tried was incredible. We ordered a platter which was perfect, as we could then try... More

Restaurant (formerly Shamrock but they changed the name as it confused people thinking it was an Irish restaurant) is run by an Ethiopian family: we were served by the mother and daughter. What a brilliant meal: the food is really interesting, if you need any help choosing - just ask, and the Ethiopian red wine tastes like a Shiraz with... More

We visited Shamrock on a whim when looking for a new Ethiopian restaurant in Birmingham. Shamrock serve delicious vibrant food whilst being very friendly and welcoming.

Delicious food, lovely staff. Definitely going to be a regular. We got the vegetarian mini combo and it was the perfect size for 2 people. Meal for 2 for £20!

The rather unobtrusive outside appearance of this restaurant does not remotely go togehter with the spectacularly delicious dishes they serve inside. Great food and really nice staff.

We wanted to try something a little different than the usual pizza/curry/chinese, and I am so glad we decided to go in! The food was amazing, I had never had eritrean in my life, but I will definitely be back for more! And the prices? Absolutely a bargain! Two mains served on a bed of sour dough bread and two... I've been going to Shamrock for several years now and can't recommend it highly enough. The food is excellent, the staff is friendly and the price is reasonable. I've eaten at Ethiopian restaurants all over the US and UK and Shamrock is my absolute favourite. Take a break from all the Birmingham chain restaurants and give this place a try!
