This is my second favorite Michelin restaurant in UK. I prefer it to some 2-3 stars Michelin restaurants. We tried the tasting menu. The squid crackers and home made breads were killers. The best I ever tasted. Suckling pig belly was fantastic too. The price is £85. It is reasonably priced. We will definitely go back again

40 of us were taken to simpsons for our annual staff meal. The service was impeccable and each course was served with a knowledgable description of the dish. Each table was served at the same time and the food was presented beautifully. What a wonderfully delicious and impressive experience. Thankyou guys.

We treated our son (and us) to the tasting menu and we tried the wine flight. The food was excellent as was the wine flight. The nine courses began with canapés and bread (then the tasting courses) and we moved on to salmon then brill, duck (excellent) and two deserts. Each wine was 100ml (sensible) and the sommelier gave a... More

We visited Simpsons between Christmas and new year. We arrived a good time but it was remarked that we were early. We were taken to have a drink and peruse the menus. An hour after we'd arrived we were then seated in the restaurant. We had opted for the tasting menu and wine flight however no one suggested we would... More

We chose the tasting menu, all of which was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. Some dishes we liked more than others - our highlights were the brill and the treacle tart - but that's just the nature of a tasting menu. The decor was perfect for our taste, very contemporary and unstuffy though if your expectation of a Michelin star... More

A friend brought me here to celebrate a big birthday. I have been here several times before and love the place. However, my friend reminded me that the over all experience was a bit disappointing. I remember now that I felt a bit disappointed also and that is why I did not write a review. It seemed churlish to complain... More

We booked this as a Christmas treat, hadn't been for a few years but wanted to give it another try following a huge refurbishment. We were sat in the lounge for a drink on arrival but we're left waiting 15 minutes before we even placed an order for drinks, not a great start when you are in a Michelin star... More

We booked a table for lunch to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. The lunch menu is fantastic value for a restaurant offering food of such quality. 3 courses for £35 or £45 with a half bottle of wine. We started with a deliciously prepared and presented pate, had a cod dish and a lovely chicken dish as mains and a... More

fantastic service and a la carte meal during the xmas holiday ,staff very attentative explained all the various ingredients to the diiferent offerings, but the best part was the sourdough bread ,note English restaurants never seem to offer good bread as part of the meal in Europe it is .
