An excellent opportunity to delight my taste, sight and smell with a perfect combination of spices, vegetables and fine meat. Friendly, well trained and knowledgeable staff (a special mention for Iulian) giving good recommendations. A fair ratio between food quality and price.

We have eaten many a time here. When it first opened it was magical. There was something about the table cloths, creativity of the food, taste combinations, advice on wine pairings, professionalism and pride of their staff that always made this an amazing dining experience. Since they have extended and modernised the place I feel it's lost something. I can... More

We wanted somewhere special for my mother-in-law's 70th and Simpson's did not disappoint! Each dish of the tasting menu was an exquisitely presented intriguing piece of artwork, well paired with superb service and set in a beautifully presented georgian house. Not inexpensive by any means but well worth it for a really special occasion!

We visited Simpsons for a family lunch and had a fantastic meal. The welcome was extremely friendly and the waiter recommended some great aperitifs and some off the menu too. I loved the decor, it reminded me of Palm Springs inside the main restaurant and it was really light and airy on quite a dull January day! The menu looked... More

Very expensive and pretentious. Dining room cold, Maitre d'Hotel unwelcoming, wine poor for a restaurant of this reputation, food merely as good as a gastropub but twice the price (perhaps more).

Whilst the food was excellent the service wasn't good, three times we had to ask for some more bread and three times for another glass of wine. When leaving the restaurant we had to go into the cloakroom ourselves to find our coats as there was no one on the desk - perhaps a good front of house person is... More

Dinner on a Saturday evening with friends. We had the a la carte menu after some deliberation. The amuse bouches were creative and tasty. Starters were very good - quail looking like the highlight although salmon also very good. Mains were excellent - our group had beef cheek and duck which were all outstanding. Dessert we had chocolate fondant which... More

Had a very lovely lunchtime experience here with friends. Food was tasty and creative, and full of variety (tastes, textures). Staff were helpful and friendly, even though it was quite busy! Coffee was a little steep, but the novelty of the bag of sweets was (almost) worth it.

We felt that they had lost the "edge" initially. Firstly, one s'amuse bouche was missing i.e. there wasn't one of everything for all four of us. We mentioned this and it was quickly corrected. Then the serving of the wine was extremely cavalier and not what we would expect in such a restaurant. However, the food was delicious and beautifully... More
