We booked online for a 7pm reservation. Upon arriving at 6.58pm, we were directed to a sofa to wait as we “arrived a little early”. True, we had, but it was literally 2 minutes. The atmosphere was fun, busy. I think there must have been some pre-concert dinners in. I noticed there were just two waiters and one running back and forth from the kitchen. Normally upon waiting, staff would offer a drink but none was forthcoming. After around 15 minutes we were shown to our table and two menus. Still no offer of a drink. After a further 10 minutes, we were asked what we’d like for a drink. So, around 32 minutes after stepping foot inside the place, we had a drink. A further 15 minutes passed when our food order was taken. The waiter commented we were ordering too much food, as we’d asked for three main courses between us. I mean, why would he care? We’re paying for this. But once the food arrived, it was really good. Other tables were waiting equally as long to make orders and receive drinks. If they had more staff, this place would be superb. Just need to tighten up a bit on CS. Offer diners a drink ASAP. Waiting almost an hour for a poppadum was too long, but the quality of the food was very good, just spoiled with slow service. The staff were good, I should add, just not enough of them. I’d go again, but hopefully next time, they’re a little better.

After the England v Ireland rugby match and several beers we tried this upstairs restaurant on Broad Street. The place looked great and the staff were attentive and charming. Food arrived and served with no fuss and nobody had a complaint. Cobras and red wine went down well and although a bit pricey at £135 it was all a successful meal.

We popped in a night out, staff was great. Whilst sat there I had a quick check of trip advisor and reviews not great so wasn’t looking forward to it. Food was good, not amazing but not as bad as previous reviews. We all ate our food and wasn’t overpriced and no negative comments, in fact empty plates

Despite having pre booked, the service was very slow. Four starters were ordered but only one arrived. Having waited a while, we asked for the others but they arrived Luke warm and, in one case, inedible, as it seemed they had been sat around for a while. The food was very disappointing and by no means what we could have reasonably expected. The main waiter serving was unwelcoming. The restaurant did remove the charge for one of the starters having had to complain about it but nonetheless felt this felt below the expected standard. We needed a receipt but this was actually refused so the only option was to take a photo of the bill before it was taken from us !

When we arrived the restaurant was very busy but it soo cleared as people left and so our experience was based on a quiet time. However, the young waiting staff looked exhausted! It took ages to order, the poppadoms and pickles arrived quickly after that. Then the starters took a long time to come. My husband's mixed grill was tiny - the smallest ever seen. He pointed out that the menu said it came with a naan. After a bit of heated discussion and another look at the menu it was agreed that a naan would be brought. All of this time our starters were getting cold. We had no cutlery either so by the time they were brought the naan and cutlery both of our starters were cold and my fish starter, whilst having a nice flavour, was very tough and overcooked. The main courses were nice but we again had to ask for cutlery and we thought they were a bit expensive. The worst was yet to come.....we started to look for someone to bring the bill. Couldn't catch the attention of any waiters for over 15 minutes, and then only when we ran after one! 5 minutes later he came with the bill, saw we wanted to pay with card and disappeared for another 5 minutes. We took ourselves off to the bar to pay and the gentleman on the bar needed to find someone else so we could pay. After half an hour waiting to pay I managed to find the right cash in my purse (no tip!) and we put the money down and walked out. We DID NOT enjoy our experience at all.

Came here for an early dinner before a concert and came here as the reviews were good and it’s proximity to the utilita arena. Entrance is on the Main Street and then you go upstairs to a nice open, clean room. Pleasant welcome and offered a drink - cobra on draught and a white wine. We ordered a main course dish from the specials , some bhajis (saag and mushroom and some papadums with relish. The papadums came quickly and there was a bit of a wait for the main courses, plus the mushroom bhaji never arrived but an onion bhaji instead, which we sent back. The quality and quantity was excellent. Overall the cost was just under £30 each for 2 of us for a main course and 2 drinks each; so mid-price

Service was good and the restaurant was busy but when the poppadoms and dips were brought out it was obvious that we weren’t the first table to sample them! You could clearly see where the little bowls had previously been filled to, and there were splashes of the sauces over the tray, and not from where it had been carried from the kitchen. Mains were pretty tasteless, except for the chilli powder that had been added to try and add some flavour. Disappointing and over priced. Not a nice experience

Worst restaurant experience. Staff are old age and they take lot of time in servings. Just to server Set menu they took almost close to 90min and i had to leave the deserts i did not had the patience to continue . And even food is not good . Not an ideal Indian restaurant. Either the food is sweet or sour . It is anything but not indian for sure . Indian food is about spices. I would not recommend if you really want to try good Indian restaurant. Also, since all the staff are old ,they work very slow . Ambience is also dull . Hygienic is okay . Not upto the expectations Considering all the about things I will not recommend anyone to go specially in group. Staffs needs to retire and hand over to energetic people.

We popped in on a quiet Easter Monday night for dinner and were immediately impressed with the scenery. Drinks were promptly served and hopes were high until a waiter almost harrumphed when we told him we weren't yet ready to order (and we definitely hadn't been looking that long). When we did order (and were brusquely told that the mosla fish wasn't available), we opted for bhajis to start - which were almost thrown at us. On top of this, the bhajis were of the reheated vintage variety and I'd hate to hazard a guess as to when they'd been fresh. Thankfully the mains were much better (and delivered by a different staff member with some grace) but again, it felt like an inconvenience when we asked our original waiter for two espressos and the bill. Needless to say, both espressos didn't even arrive at the same time (not what you'd expect when they're 4.50 each!) but thankfully we were able to pay up and leave. Not an experience to be repeated.

We arrived on time and got seated, service was slow getting drinks and ordering. We asked for the onion bhajis to come out with the mains but they came out before. Both of our curries were bland when they were supposed to be ‘medium’. They gave us a naan bread which we didn’t order told us it was ‘on the house’ and then the waiter dropped it on the floor and proceeded to put it back on our table. Slow in clearing away our plates. Then came the bill they added the naan bread on and put 3 beers on for my husband when he had 2. Good job we checked the bill as they were clearly ripping us off. Very disappointed.

After being seated at our table for a long time we tried to get the waiters attention to take our orders however was blatantly ignored. When our drinks eventually arrived they were incorrect as they had given us the drinks that the table behind us ordered. The food itself was okay however the balti was bland, the chicken in the korma had more flavour from the marinade. We requested the bill as did otger people, however this never arrived, so in the end we qued at the bar where other people were requesting their bill as well. It was apprent most people left quickly and some people walked out after being seated due to lack of service. One waiter was lovely and welcoming when you could get his attention however the rest showed no level of urgency or customer service.

We went as part of a group. The plates on the table took ages to clear, we repeatedly asked to order drinks and the staff took an age to take the order. After 2 hours the food finally arrived, dishes were missing, Not everyone’s drinks turned up and the most annoying thing was they would say ‘yes I will sort that’ and then don’t come back.

Great food (wrong order though) and efficient but completely uninterested service. It’s been a while since I’ve eaten here and the food is as good as the last time I was here. I ordered Chicken Tikka Dhansak and a Chicken Dhansak was served. Lovely, but not quite what I ordered. Service was quick, efficient but not friendly. I’d have mentioned the mistake in the main course if anyone had come near me to ask if all was good. Would I come here again? Of course, the food is great. But it would be nice to have a friendly and engaging team working here.

Visited this week. Terrible food. Overcooked chicken, dry sauce with zero flavour. Even the Cobra lager wasn’t fit for consumption. Need to raise their game would not recommend this place. Probably one of the worse Indian restaurants I’ve ever visited.

Popped in by chance for dinner. Lovely service, very welcoming. Fabulous food, I had a Monkfish curry, everything prepared fresh & hot from the cooker, nothing microwaved or sat for ages on the pass here. Great views over the canal. Very well priced. Highly recommend for anyone, couples or families. It's really good authentic food.
