Delicious food and in a beautiful historic building. Unfortunately the ordering and service were rather too slow and we had to rush to get the car before the parking expired. Good if you’re looking for a relaxing lunch.
Been to the pub several times but hadn’t eaten until today. Really nice, ancient pub near the cathedral, comfortable and really pleasant staff. Heineken 0 on draught too! All of our meals were good, service was excellent and prices were very reasonable. Enjoyed our visit,...will definitely go again.More
Based on reviews on TripAdvisor I went in here and had duck … just ok … the veg came from tins or off the shelf bottles which seems common in uk pubs …. Think the rating is too high ….. the food not ambience would...entice me backMore
Delicious food. Wide menu with options for vegans and coeliac sufferers. Very friendly service. And in a beautiful old venue just near the cathedral.
So nice to have 100% gluten free as a coeliac! It was delicious and my whole family enjoyed the food.
Lovely pub and as a family we really enjoy coming here for a few pints on our pub crawl. However, there is a bartender with curly hair who is always so rude when he serves us. When we were getting served this evening he was...rude to the (female) bartenders. I would like to say he hasn’t ruined the night but honestly, his attitude stinks. We never mind being asked for ID - most of us work in customer services. WE GET IT. but if you ask, at least be polite and not questions whether the new passport is acceptable forms of ID or not. Real shame.More
Birthday lunch for me, menu was sent to us so food could be chosen in advance as there was 7 of us. Food was delicious and huge portions, staff were attentive and helpful. Would totally recommend and will definitely be back
Coventry pub crawl (20-05-23) Me and my dad popped in for our first pub and wow it looked amazing, a really old pub with an amazing outside and old wooden beams inside, not our usual choice but gor 2 real ale Pints, plenty of seats...and it did start to fill up a bit, 95% older people's pub so not a great atmosphere in an early evening.More
Fabulous food in delightful surroundings. Having a full gluten free menu is simply wonderful. Loved the pie of the day!
We visited here early March 2023. From the initial call to book the table (13 of us of mixed ages ranging 10 months - 70 years). To attending the venue and dining was a perfect experience. Charlotte was incredibly helpful and emailed me the menu...to take a pre booking of the food with there being so many of us. She was very speedy with her responses and was intensive on the phone when I have to call to ensure our younger guests were ok to stay late. We were seated upstairs as it was a Saturday night and there was entertainment on downstairs. This was perfect for us as it was much quieter but with a great stocked bar that pleased us all. They bar service and table service for the meal and drinks were second to none. Very polite and fast! The meals were delicious and traditional pub grub with ample sized portions! Thank you for making my dads 70th celebration so memorable and if we are ever in Coventry again we will be sure to visit.More
We came to visit our son who is an university in Coventry. The building and staff are nice but the food was terrible. It was mother's day and I wanted someone to cook me a nice roast dinner. The meat was overcooked, the potatoes were...undercooked and the rest was nothing special. So incredibly disappointing.More
Lovely building, very friendly and helpful staff, but the roast dinner wasn't very good. Disappointing after reading previous reviews.
A restaurant that goes the extra mile to meet your dietary needs. The menu is totally gluten free with the menu also offering options for other allergens. The staff are also happy to talk through your needs so that other options can be adapted. Nice...‘old pub’ feel. Friendly service. Great location. Good prices. Would definitely return.More
Called in here for a drink with friends and thoroughly enjoyed it. The building, next the ruined cathedral, is one of the few medieval timber structures to survive 1940's blitz. The drinks choice was good, the price okay and the service equally so.
