We had my 50th birthday meal here, 12 people, food all came out in a timely fashion and was exceptional, plenty of it as well. Puddings were a joy, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will certainly be going again..

I visited the millpool for an evening out and chose the salmon, new potatoes , broccoli and tarragon sauce from the chef specials menu. It was absolutely delicious, presentation was beautiful and everything was cooked to perfection. The millpool is a wonderful pub/eating establishment with...wonderful friendly staff, excellent food and is very clean. Perfect for an evening outMore

What a fantastic find! We needed a function room for a meeting followed by a lunch attended by 20+ people from all over (South East, Midlands, Leeds etc) so wanted somewhere central. We also wanted doors that open to the outside to allow good ventilation,...and good quality pub food. Firstly, the whole organisation/booking with Mark and Jamie was straight-forward, they were fantastically helpful. Secondly, its location is great, with free parking and close to the main road, so very accessible for all. We arrived a little early to set up the room, and found our tea, coffee and biscuits all laid out (at very reasonable cost). Our meeting went well, and the staff came to check if we were ready for lunch at 1pm. Service was smooth, and everyone was extremely happy with their dishes: all high quality pub food, cooked fresh on the premises (and tasted great!). I particularly liked the chili con carne, the cod / scampi were excellent, as were the chips - the kids loved the cookie dough dessert! The function room was perfect, with french doors to the outside that we left open as it was warm enough and sunny... our lunch party went well. The atmosphere in the main pub itself also seemed really good, and it felt covid-safe. Staff were cheerful, friendly, organised and really welcoming. The owner John came to introduce himself and told me all about how he and his family/team have really developed this pub into a great part of the community, putting their heart and soul into the building. I highly recommend the place whether for a meeting or a meal ... next time we might perhaps try the other one of the two function rooms - which even has a safe indoor astroturf area for outside drinks/dining/fresh air and sole use of a WC(!), although the one we had was perfect for our needs. Thanks John, Mark, Jamie and the team for making our day such a success! We'll be back!More

This is a really popular pub and once again it didn't disappoint. Booking was straight forward and I did not have to pay for the room as was having a buffet. The food was of excellent quality, very food value for money and well-presented. The...staff were extremely helpful and the room, as well as the outside space, just for us was perfect. I would highly recommend it.More

We went to the restaurant for a family birthday meal. We were a party of 13 adults and 1 child. To aid the staff we pre-ordered the main courses. All of the meals were served promptly and were of a very high quality. The staff...were friendly and very efficient. We would highly recommend the venue.More
