Visited many times for coffee however our first evening visit for tapas with family. The service was friendly, timely and efficient. All the tapas dishes we chose were delicious. Each dish was freshly cooked to order with quality ingredients and full of flavour. It was...stylish to have the large 250ml rosé presented in a chilled bottle of that size. We have visted the motte and Bailey cafe lots of times over the years! we went for the breakfast menu and the staff were friendly. It is always very very busy, so food and drinks takes longer to come out. The breakfast was smaller compared...to others that i have had recently, however still equally as delicious. Had an afternoon cream tea here. Staff friendly and helpful menu looked good. Cream tea a little disappointing as the jam was not of very high quality.

Our table that was for 6 under the window on the side was filthy. I asked for it to be cleaned and the girl said it was stain that would not come off. I managed to scrape it off with my finger nails. Excellent breakfast. Lovely sausages and bacon. Staff friendly. Restaurant clean. Lovely atmosphere except for a very loud American gentleman who believes everyone what’s to hear his opinions on everything 🤣 Will return to try other food.

Stopped in here on the way to the castle for breakfast. They served a great full English and the coffee was excellent. 100% would recommend and we will definitely go back.

When we arrived at shortly after 9.00am the cafe was already really busy and we were offered a table downstairs. Excellent cooked full English breakfast made with quality ingredients. Coffee was decent, far better than high street chains. Service was great even though we were...out of sight.More
