Love the decor, love the ambience and friendly welcome just somehow the food doesn't deliver compared to The Crate & Apple in quality and certainly not worth the extra it charges. Drinks are also pretty steep compared to elsewhere. We both had roast pork, we...More

The Sussex lamb was sadly tepid, which is not good with lamb - the meat itself was beautiful though and the accomplimnents were delicious. Another dish, the spit roast chicken, was delicious, but was served in a bowl (?), with a lacklustre & dry super...More

Good range of foods throughout the menu and well presented when delivered. Friendly and helpful staff. Good beers and wines as well. Overall reasonably priced. Good standard all round for a gastro style pub. Recommend a visit.

Hello, We are a 10 minute drive from the centre of Chichester. You can also walk from the chichester canal basin, up the towpath. Which is around a 30 minute walk. Hope this helps.

Hello, Yes that would not be a problem as both our restaurant and bar are all on ground level. We also have 2 disabled parking spaces by the front of the building so your mother would not have to travel far from the car.

The Blacksmiths is a newly renovated pub with rooms situated on the outskirts of the historical city of Chichester in the old village of Donnington. Restored in a relaxed and comfortable style with a few quirky twists, guests can enjoy the blazing fire and homely charm of the anvil bar or the snug elegance of the dining room. There are also three uniquely furnished double bedrooms and a large garden area with outdoor seating, fire pits and our own herb and salad garden. Children will also love visiting the chickens, which supply all our eggs. Located close to the Chichester canal towpath, The Blacksmiths is a perfect stop off point for a refreshing pint, or perhaps an extended afternoon on the terrace. Whether you are visiting by bike, boot or boat - we look forward to welcoming you.
