Now here's a thing. We have eaten here probably 10 or so times. Usually very good - good staff and quite good food - although the cooking quality does vary tremendously. Don't go here if you are expecting gourmet food. This time if I was...More

Hello Will, I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience here at the Blacksmiths. The Sourdough you chose is quite simply a snack, rather than a starter, and a twist on the 'usual' bread and butter. I am sorry that this...More

My husband and I ate there in the evening. There is a lovely garden area and inside is quaint and smart. There is a good varied menu and the food was delicious, although the portion size was quite large for us. Worth a visit though.

Hello, We are a 10 minute drive from the centre of Chichester. You can also walk from the chichester canal basin, up the towpath. Which is around a 30 minute walk. Hope this helps.

Hello, Yes that would not be a problem as both our restaurant and bar are all on ground level. We also have 2 disabled parking spaces by the front of the building so your mother would not have to travel far from the car.

The Blacksmiths is a newly renovated pub with rooms situated on the outskirts of the historical city of Chichester in the old village of Donnington. Restored in a relaxed and comfortable style with a few quirky twists, guests can enjoy the blazing fire and homely charm of the anvil bar or the snug elegance of the dining room. There are also three uniquely furnished double bedrooms and a large garden area with outdoor seating, fire pits and our own herb and salad garden. Children will also love visiting the chickens, which supply all our eggs. Located close to the Chichester canal towpath, The Blacksmiths is a perfect stop off point for a refreshing pint, or perhaps an extended afternoon on the terrace. Whether you are visiting by bike, boot or boat - we look forward to welcoming you.
