My wife and I dined here on a grim wet October evening in half term. The food and venue both lifted our hearts and we left smiling and happy .
There is a good selection of tapas and traditional main courses. We went for the tapas and chose three vegetarian and four meat based tapas. They were all very good, so I don't think you need to worry about your choices, they will all be good.
The white Rioja at £19 was extremely quaffable and complimented the dishes well. We didn't have puds because we were too sated by the tapas.
On a wet Wednesday evening there were about 25 of us dining, so the atmosphere was warm and busy. Service was good, and the venue itself is an underground cave type cavern, that has been made to feel very meditteranean whatever the weather outside, albeit that the ground floor entrance is in a rather strange , off the beaten path part of town, that belies the treat that awaits you below !

Superb food - we had prawns and sardines to start. Wonderful.
I had the chicken with spinach in a cream sauce and my husband had the moussaka. Both delightful.
It was disappointing that the restaurant wasn’t in the Monday- Wednesday discount scheme but nevertheless this was ok as it was our daily for not checking. It would however not have stopped us visiting.
We did however feel the service was lacking as the waiters were not attentive enough /responsive enough to requests. Therefore we decided not to pay the ‘optional ‘ service charge. We regularly pay at least 10% tip but I’m afraid the service did not warrant this.
We thought it a little strange also that the waiter ran after us as we left to confirm we didn’t want to pay the service charge, commenting she needed to verbally confirm this was the case.

Well, this is a little Gem of a restaurant in Chichester.
Staff where very attentive, and the service was excellent.
Compliments to the Chef and his staff as the Food was made to an exceptional standard and what a selection, you where spoilt for choice, meat was very tender, what we had and very affordable.
Would definitely visit this restaurant again when visiting this area.

Having not only enjoyed good food and good service in the past our latest experience left us feeling totally hollow.
The restaurant was not even 50% full and yet we were expected to wait almost 2 hours before our food was served. The wait would not have been problem had the food met our expectation, unfortunately it did not, only the calamari was up to standard. We will never go back.
The young front of house staff worked hard trying to cover up for a disaster in the kitchen and there was no experienced managed present, which there had been previously. Mat and the girls worked valiantly, but they were let down badly. I have rated the service a two only because the front of house staff tried their best in an impossible situation.

I highly recommend this place - the service from our server Kaycee was great; she was so kind and prompt throughout. She also catered to the allergies one of us had really well and even ensured our food didn't contain the allergens by double-checking with the kitchen herself. The food was delicious and the portions, for the price especially, are incredibly generous. Overall, a really positive experience - thank you all so much.

Came here tonight to celebrate other half’s birthday. Service at start was good food was good. Food arrived been eating for 5 minutes when 16 people came in NOT wearing face coverings moving between there 3 allocated tables NOT wearing face coverings. Shouting to each other across tables all of them were obviously one party indoors. My partner spoke discreetly to waitress asking who was in charge and after a brief not sure said the chef. She went off to ring manager. Came back to us apologetic and said manager was on way to sort this was a regular party of 16 and that she was new and knew nothing about the booking. She offered us free cocktail at other venue for our trouble. Manageress came laughed joked and hugged some members of the party of 16 and disappeared in the back. We declined cocktails was given a £7 discount.
Didn’t want a discount wanted someone to be in control and follow COVID restrictions. It’s because of behaviour like this we end up in further lockdowns. An email is being sent to Selsey environmental council as a result of what we witnessed tonight. Businesses who flout rules at this difficult time should not be allowed to operate.

As Spanish, trying a tapas bar outside of Spain can be a bit of hit and miss (although this is more Mediterranean). Luckily this one is one of the best we tried. Very tasteful tapas, good portions and reasonable priced too, we could definitely feel Spanish tastes in most of them.Just missing some “croquetas” but would definitely recommend!

The food here is always fantastic. My issue with my latest visit was that I was asked for a deposit of £10pp (regardless of party size), absolutely fine, in these times they need to know that you'll definitely turn up! I happily paid, and then was rung up about 4 times over the next few days asking for the deposit I had already paid. Communication between the staff seemed to be lacking both here and in the restaurant, as two dishes we ordered never turned up, despite one of them being a replacement for an incorrect dish being sent out, and we had to get them removed from the bill. Again in the restaurant I was asked if I had paid the deposit and frankly it started to make me feel like they thought I was lying, and I never got an apology for being treated this way. I would like to come back as the food and setting is great, but the service needs to be better. Also be warned that it can be cold in there as the fire exit door has to remain open

I've visited this restaurant 4-5 times before and after COVID and it has always been brilliant. The food is just brilliant; the best tapas I have ever had.
The staff and service are fantastic. Always very attentive but never too full on. They also make excellent recommendations so give it a go and ask! The food is very quick, piping hot and delicious. Drinks and cocktails are very reasonably priced.
The tapas portions are rather large (which we love) and you definitely get value for money which is something often lacking in tapas!
It will always be the restaurant I choose to show someone Chichester.

Excellent evening spent in the basement restaurant. Lovely vibe within the restaurant, attentive staff, prompt service and all very clean with COVID restrictions in place.
The tapas were amazing. Agree with another reviewer, best tapas including those we have eaten in Spain. Food arrived promptly, was hot and extremely tasty with very good portion sizes. Drinks were also good. Would definitely recommend a visit - excellent food and service and not expensive for the quantity and quality of food.

The service was incredible, always being checked on and provided a heat lamp for outdoor seating. The food is incredible, so much flavour and the tapas plates are perfect portions to select 3-4 per person and share around. Would highly recommend getting a mixture of everything. Overall a delightful evening spent in a tucked away part of town, will be recommending to all.

Only restaurant I know which serves fabada an asturian dish of white beans, chorizo, black pudding and ham and is absolutely delicious. Visited Asturias with a Spanish amigo who insisted we try it and this was the best I have eaten outside Spain. The other food we had, gambas, calamari, sardines, tortilla all equally good, good service, lovely albarino wine, great visit

This is honestly the best tapas that we have had. Wonderful flavours and great portion sizes. The restaurant is in a quirky location which makes it all the more fun. Even though it was quiet as it was a Tuesday evening the atmosphere was great and the service and food was brilliant. The cheesecake was also clearly homemade and is definitely worth an order. Love finding places like this!

My parents and I were a little concerned when upon arriving at the restaurant, there was no record of the reservation we had made earlier in the week, despite a member of staff having phoned my father back to confirm it. Our name was not on the list but nevertheless we were shown to a table.
The restaurant certainly has a buzz about it but it was very noisy and quality conversation was difficult.
The food itself was very tasty. Having sampled a few plates of the tapas, we decided to order some more but the wait was uncomfortable. The waitress informed us that there was only three people in the kitchen and they were overbooked, perhaps exemplifying the argument for quality over quantity.
My father had ordered a coke which amid the chaos was not brought to our table but still charged to our bill. We alerted the waitress to this and I found the attempt to bring the drink to our table when we (as we pointed out) had clearly finished our meal and were ready to leave to be in bad faith. We got the coke taken off the bill and left.
At the time of writing, the restaurant requires better organisation and efficiency to match the good quality of the dishes on offer.

We had an early family dinner at 5.30 on the terrace and ordered a selection of about 10 different tapas, all vegetarian but two.
The food came fairly quickly and tasted lovely, each little dish a pleasure to eat that highlighted the fresh, good quality ingredients. The vegetarian selection is very good and varied. I am not a big eater and I loved being able to sample all the lovely little dishes.
The terrace was lovely with the last rays of sun, I can imagine it must be quite atmospheric at night.
The waitress was really nice and brought paper and felt tip pens for my granddaughter and provided a bowl of water for the dog at the table next to ours.
All in all a very positive experience. I definitely recommend it.
