This is obviously a very popular restaurant, since it was practically full on the (Sat) night we visited.Having said as much, however, our own experience was somewhat down on that spoken of glowingly in other reviews. I had mentioned in the booking email that it...was for a wedding anniversary - they gave us a table set for 4 and said that we had booked for 3. They made no remark about the anniversary, nor had they made any apparent recognition of my email advices to the effect. When we were seated, the waitress asked us if we would like some water. Having told her yes, she disappeared off and left us for ten minutes without either water or any query as to what other drinks we might like. I saw her leaning up against the bar talking to the other waitress, both completely oblivious of customers. I had to summon her by waving. The scallops were brilliant - ABSOLUTELY! - but that was as far as good food went in a somewhat limited menu. My wife asked for her duck to be served not still bleeding, as Michelin chefs (and aspiring ones) seem to think is best. When it came it was as tough as hell. - Even I, with a strong bite and good teeth, found it heavy going. My own choice was lamb. It arrived pink and beautifully soft - but it had clearly not seen any seasoning and was absolutely tasteless. All in all, it was a less than average meal and a visit not worth repeating. The prices were OK if the food had been up to it, which sadly it clearly was not. - The entire experience was hugely disappointing, given all of the commendation given in previous reviews. - You win some, you lose some...More

Great special occasion restaurant, locally sourced produce and a Michelin level chef - amazingly put together menu and well executed. Wines courtesy of Four Wall wines and comes with super friendly service from a family owned and run restaurant, they have tasted all the wines...to ensure match to food. A definite for birthday, anniversaries or just to try the other items on the menu.More

Second visit to this wonderful restaurant. We arrived early, which was fortunate because being Friday it filled up very quickly. The staff are very attentive and knowledgeable. The portion sizes are just right for us and everything was presented beautifully. Good selection of wines. Altogether...another memorable experience.More

Wow! What an incredible restaurant! This is totally Michelin standard. I started with the pan fried scallops, charred sweetcorn and iberico ham crisp, with a main of roe deer, with mushroom ketchup to absolutely die for! Finished with a quartet of outstanding desserts… OMG!! 🤤...😋 Vivian the chef was so lovely and so was her husband Cas, who was front of house and they both made our night . This is by far the best restaurant we have been to in a very long time. Team Cassons, we’ll be back xxxMore
