We had a fixed price lunch midweek - £12 for two courses or £14 for three courses. The fixed price menu did not appear to be advertised outside the restaurant and we’d recommend they do that. The decor was pleasant, food was delicious -one of the best Indian meals we’ve had- and the service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

With a small group of friends we had lunch at Thyme and Chilli in St Pancras, Chichester. The restaurant is unusual these days because the tables have white linen tablecloths and napkins are also linen. The whole restaurant looks spotlessly clean and the staff were very welcoming and informative about the menu. We had a simple 2 course lunches costing £12 which was generous in quantity and very tasty. One vegan diner had a separate menu and an excellent and interesting choice (not the usual one or two possibilities). Everything was properly served and even our water glasses we topped up throughout the meal. This experience is so much nicer than the noisy, hard table tops of so many restaurants and the prices are very fair. I feel comfortable recommending it.

Whilst staying in West Wittering we were grateful for Thyme & Chillies earlier opening time in the evening than other places and also having availability for a last minute booking. Service was excellent. Clients safety and enjoyment was obviously a key focus. Menu was unusual with new dishes to try. Good quality food and presentation was excellent. Wine list was adequate although a little on the pricey side but we had a very nice bottle of Indian Merlot we would never have tried otherwise. Parking was easily available on site.

If you like a bit of a curry flavour to your salt this is for you. Any taste is completely ruined by the excessive amount of salt used to the extent the food is almost inedible. As for having a vegetarian dish such as Vegetable Biryani; its a case of find the vegetables. It is blindingly obvious the scant vegetables used come direct from a cheap frozen mixed vegetable bag consisting of a few peas, sweetcorn, one (no kidding) broad bean and that's it. No cauliflower, potato etc. To top it all, this was a takeaway meal ordered during part lockdown; the collection time was set by the restaurant. We arrive on time to find a queue outside as only two people allowed in the restaurant to collect, we had to wait 20 minutes to collect - don't set a time for collection which can't be met and leave customers standing in the cold outside. Overall - terrible, one of the very worst curries I've ever had and expensive.

If you like over-salted grey food, containing little or no magic of wonderful Indian spices, then this is the place to visit. On leaving I asked the Manager whether his normal chef was preparing the food, and he confirmed that he was. Visited April'17 - The review I read here bear no resemblance to our experience, and am pleased that others find it more than bearable.

I don't usually write reviews but I wanted to let other customers know to be wary that the red chilli symbols next to the dishes don't signify how spicy they really are. We ordered a takeaway from the online menu on Sat, 9 October, to be collected from the Chichester restaurant. We hadn't ordered from the restaurant before and were looking forward to it. We decided to choose 4 main meals plus a couple of side dishes, with two (the same) main meals showing one red chilli next to it. We don't have any complaints about the service and size of portion but we couldn't eat 3 of the main meals because they were so spicy. The only main meal which was not too intense to eat was the Delhi Style Murg Makhanwala and even that had quite a kick. We grow our own chillies and understand their intensity. We were following the rule that a dish on the menu without a red chilli symbol means mild and one with 3 red chilli symbols means a high level of spiciness! Maybe there was a rogue chef working that evening. As you can imagine, we were very disappointed, especially as the total cost of the takeaway was over £70!

We are fans of the Thyme & Chillies outside Chichester so we decided to have a take away from the new Chichester restaurant (we are still social distancing so did not wish to eat in). It was our first family meeting since lockdown started, and even sat two metres apart at home! It was such a special occasion, so we really looked forward to it. We ordered nearly 2 hours in advance of collection time and still had to wait 15 minutes for it to be ready. Got it home, only to find one of the main courses was missing. Being 6 miles away from Chichester, there was no real option other than to spread out 3 main courses amongst 4 of us (and the portions were not that large to start with) - seem to get more food in the restaurant. I thought the bag looked small for all we had ordered! The food, what there was of it, was great - very much what we are used to at the other restaurant, but we will not have take away from here again. Please make sure you check your order when you collect - everything was ticked, off by the staff but it was not there. Such a special occasion and was somewhat deflated.

Lovely food. Traditional Indian food. Very flavoursome. Had the 3 tikka for starter and all very tasty. The railway goat for main with naan bread was also very good and succulent. The only downsides are the staff linger over your table a little too much and I also ordered what on the menu was described as a traditional indian drink at £3.50 which was a lime and soda so I felt a bit cheated. I will definitely return!

Went to there st Pancras Chichester restaurant tonight was booked for 18.45. Tbh staff very polite all good apart from delay in food arriving hour for starter and an hour for main course managed to leave at approx 21.15 with twelve year old twins far too long. We were seated upstairs and it was unbearably hot and uncomfortable and also all tables used I think the tables were to close. And also which I think was the icing on the cake I got charged £14.15 Gratuity charge automatically when they already had been apologising all night. Not a great family meal !! They need to sort out kitchen delays and heat in restaurant .

Sorry for your less than our standard service compromising your experience. There has been a delay in getting AC's installed due to Covid situation. It is all done now including social distancing screens between the tables etc. Come back and try again and let us know about your experience again. Will love to have your feedback.

Thyme & Chillies is owned by the people behind the excellent Darbar restaurant in Emsworth. I am a regular at Darbar and was not disappointed when I visited Thyme & Chilli. The menu is different but offers a wide variety of innovative Indian dishes that are very much removed from what is offered in a regular curry house. Service is very good and all dishes are freshly prepared. Some people might find the prices high but the quality of ingredients and effort that goes into each dish make up for that. Highly recommended and I shall certainly be coming back on a regular basis.

Eat here a year ago it was expensive but special, hence the reason why we haven't been back, saving it for a special occasion. Tonights meal was a total let down. We booked a table for 7 and had to wait for 20 min before we were seated...... Having finally been seated it took 45 minutes (two pints) before our order was taken.. The food was good ( not outstanding) as expected, when art finally arrived (now almost 1.5 hrs after arrival). £130 for 4 people, for an outstanding meal and good service .... OK, But an alright meal and VERY SLOW service, quite frankly there are other options available at a better price. We will not be returning...... Will also comment that the table next door was 8 people, breaking the rule of 6

Outstanding service, a very different and interesting menu and above all unbelievably good food. This is a fine dining authentic Indian restaurant that compares with the very best out there but is well priced. Perfectly spiced meals with no artificial colours or ghee used. I would highly recommend the spicy and tangy calamari starter, I've never had a starter this good, and the lamb dishes were so tender and tasty. Thomas and his team were attentive and informative on all menu choices but ensured we were relaxed and never rushed. Very highly recommended and you'll not be disappointed.

Thank you for your kind words, that I will certainly convey to my team, as it is their efforts to produce and serve the best. Do also visit our two other sister establishment, Thyme and Chillies Birdham PO20 7EH and Darbar Restaurant in Emsworth PO10 7DG for many more regional and ethnic Indian dishes paired with a large choice of premium Indian wines that we are exclusively importing. 🙏

After receiving a door drop promoting their lunch time takeaway menu delivered in authentic tiffins - we thought we'd give it a try. Fantastic. The food was amazing and the tiffins - what a great idea and so much better than plastic packaging. Thyme & Chillies will definitely be our go-to Indian restaurant for any takeaways that we order.

Having previously visited and enjoyed its sister restaurant in Birdham, we thought we’d try this version to see if it matched the same high standards. I’m pleased to report that it did in every respect. The welcome, service and safety precautions were first class, and the menu showed much variety and extensive choices highlighting the best of the sub-continent’s cuisine. Our choices looked, smelled and tasted delicious, and we can’t wait to return and try other items from the menu

Went with friends for dinner and then with another for lunch. The food is out of this world! Such beautiful flavours and texture. The lunch menu is great value for money (2 courses for £12) with a great choice of starters and main courses. The staff are attentive and polite and service was prompt. I cannot fault this restaurant and can't recommend it enough!
