Lovely food excellent value for money 6.99!

I regularly visit city vaults when I am in Bradford and I have always found that the food is amazingly tasty and excellent value for money. Last night I had the chicken fajita and it was excellent value for money for 6.99 it came with tortillas nachos salad and cheese was very delicious. Very filling meal and excellent service from the staff.

Good food with a great atmosphere.

Hello, Date of visit: Thurs 30.1.20 Date of this review: 3.2.20 Time: 11.00am. I visited the city Vaults in Bradford for the first time in 5 years, actually more like 6 years I think if I'm honest. The pub has had a refurbishment since the last occasion I was there and it now looks better than ever. Pleased they have kept the beautiful glass on the ceiling. My dinner: I ordered the Roast beef, mash and Yorkshire pudding for a total cost of £6.99. I added chips for £1.00 extra and to drink I had a pint of Guinness for £3.90. Total cost of dinner and drink: £11.89 Well, what a dinner it was, filled me up nicely and I didn't want any more to eat until the following morning. The details: Quality of food: Excellent. Waiting time: No more than 10 min. Presentation: Food was pleasantly served. Value for money: Yes. Pub atmosphere: Pleasant and relaxing. Table choice: Perfect. Customer satisfaction: Happy with the standard of service I received. Thanks goes to Josh the bar tender and the other team members. Finally, Will I return to this pub? Most definitely when next in town. In fact, Josh, watch out for me at the Wed quiz. Thanks again to all concerned. Stephen Davis.

The City Vaults is the place to be in Bradford. Comfortable seats and gothic themed walls adorn the main area. There is a variety of international beers available. For those feeling thrifty, there is a special offer on meals where you can add a drink at a discounted rate. The service was good, staff were polite and mostly up beat. The food menu is good, I had the vegetarian curry dish. The flavours were great, the mango chutney in particular was delicious. I opted to 'supersize' my curry and it was served with basmati rice, a warm naan, salad, chutney and onion rings. Unfortunately, part of the curry was slightly cold and some of the salad leaves tasted un-washed but the onion rings were crisp and scrumptious. A private function room is available at the rear of the bar area with suede furnishings and plenty of space for parties.

Buzzer system used to order food doesn’t appear to be working out, we waited >20 minutes for service and when we asked a member of staff if we could order we were told a table that came in after us were before us in the queue. Upon ordering, the staff member rushed the taking order, resulting in calling her back continuously. We also ordered a side which didn’t turn up, when asked about this we were told that the lady who took the order had forgotten to add it and therefore we were not going to receive the side, because of the lack of staff presence we could only raise this after our meals had already been half eaten. Although the food that we did receive was absolutely fine, going forward I think the bar needs to review the ordering system

Been here before once or twice but recently this establishment has been undergoing a refurbishment. So we decided to visit and see what's changed,, the main part of the pub hasn't changed but they have extended the pub and it looks great,,, the food was still really good and of a decent portion size,, tasty and good value for money. I do have two small faults to pick,wich are, The chips are never crispy,, there allways slightly soggy and never seem to be piping hot and this has occurred on many visits. Also the coffee machine seems to not work on many occasions. Would possible visit more but knowing the coffee machine doesn't work a lot of the time, puts me off from visiting,, apart ftom that it's a good, honest decent place to grab a meal.

Always enjoy the city vaults,cheap and cheerful food, but today ordered our food and after 25 minutes it still hadn’t arrived which is a bit annoying but weren’t in a rush fortunately. went to complain and they were very apologetic and explained they had chef issues so were behind with orders,the staff dealt with it really well and came to apologise and gave us free two meals. As a chef myself I understand that people don’t know what’s happening behind the scenes and they are all human dealing with stresses on a daily basis and things do go wrong sometimes so Well done to you all on dealing with it promptly and politely.

Splendid meal

This is one of my many visits to city vaults over the years and it did not disappoint. I had the nachos with pulled pork and they were beautiful, very tasty and freshly home made tortilla chips. The portion size for 4.95 (including pulled pork) was excellent brilliant value for money. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a splendid meal.

Absolute top marks, a nice modern Gastro pub

We were staying in Bradford near to this place so thought we'd give it a try and glad we did. As we entered the pub the bar staff asked us to find a table and they would come over and take our order *there is a buzzer on the table to press when ready to order), there is a wide variety on the menu with something to satisfy everyone's taste. All in all the food and service were spot on (and reasonable price wise!) The pub itself is clean and tidy. If your in Bradford I would highly recommend!

I went for drinks on Saturday then for lunch on Wednesday. Service at the bar was quick on both visits. We didn't have to wait for long for our lunch. We all ordered the Yorkshire beef burritos and shared sides of onion rings and chips. We all really enjoyed our meals and thought they were really good value for money. We were suprised how busy it was for a Wednesday lunch time, which just shows what a popular pub it is. Really enjoyable visits.

Unforgettable experience. Life changing

I must say I left this establishment a changed man. Me and my mates walked in with low expectations, we just wanted a place to stay because it was raining heavily and my friend Benedict was just involved in a hot air balloon collision. We carry my injured friend into the pub and we are immediately greeted by some friendly bar staff who ask us what we want. We explain our situation, the lads all order fruit shoots (the usual) and we sit down. The important part is when one of the bar staff seemed to take notice of the critical condition my friend was in, and walked up to him and asked if he could help. The man was named Tyler and he asked if he could "do anything to help" my friend Benedict. Benedict accepted the offer and Tyler proceeded to breastfeed my friend right in the middle of the pub. As this happened we were all cheering and clapping and the entire pub joined in to applaud the situation. Once Benedict was fully healed after the thorough breastfeeding he stood up like a phoenix from the ashes and proceeded to fly away into the sunset. We left Benedict to do what he wanted and we thanked Tyler and proceeded to order some food. We had stone baked pizza, paninis and yorkshire puddings which were all reasonably priced and tasty. Someday we will return with Benedict and his newly found wings of an eagle. 10/10

First visit will not be the last

Myself and two close friends visited on Thursday 5/1/23 for the first time. in a while Its been nearly 3 years since we had met up to dine and have a social drink. We had heard the pub had been refurbished, it has to a very nice standard, it has lots of corners and an upstairs area also. The beer I had was Timothy Taylors Boltmaker, superb, my friends had their chosen drinks too. I ordered the large yorkshire with beef stew on mash, excellent, the other two had fish and chips. Not a morsel was left. The food is of a good standard for pub food, The staff were welcoming and friendly, we realised that we arrived around 4.30pm and time had flown it was just after 10.00pm. The venue is pleasant and just seems lets time fly by. cerftainly a venue we will now meet up on a regular basis once more. No grumbles from us.

Poor food, could tell it was frozen and not fresh. Also waited far too long for our order, took almost one hour and worst yet it wasn’t busy at all. Better places to eat in Bradford town centre, just make sure to avoid this one 👎

Reteurn visit continues to delight.

Met up with my two friends once again, we travel in from opposite parts of the City to this central hostelry. The excellent Timothy Taylors Boltmaker ale was spot on. Choosing our main meals, this time the pizzas were available, (on the other occasions they were not) We opted for the meat feast, they were excellent, perfectly cooked and tasty. no crumbs left. Worth the wait for them. The staff are friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is good, steady flow of customers, nothing to spectacular. It did quiten down after 8.30pm though. Its a central location and offers good value for money food and drink. Easy access to bus links and taxis. Thats why we keep returning. Roll on spring for the next outing here.

Good pub grub in the centre of Bradford.

Me and a friend decided to go here for some food after work. It's a great big pub with an extension to the rear, so there's tons of room for a walk in. We found a table in a nice quiet spot and ordered our food and drinks at the bar. The staff were really friendly and the food arrived quickly. I ordered the cheeseburger and chips, it wasn't incredible but for the price, it was decent quality. The chips with the burger were like fish and chip shop chips, which I thought was unusual but the combination was better than I expected. I enjoyed my meal and drinks so will definitely be returning in the future. I'd definitely say that this is my favourite pub in the centre of Bradford (not that there's much choice!). Good work guys!

Fab pub and the staff are brilliant. They've started doing specials n this weeks was pork belly, with crackling, on a bed of spring onion mash n red cabbage. Was amazing !!! Sue ensured food was brought to us altogether and accommodated us with another jug of "jus". Tiff recommended the special, thank you 😊 James behind the bar served us quickly and efficiently as we're only had an hour. Missed last week's garlic chicken calzone but will be back for it. You cannot beat the prices for the quality, never had a bad meal here. Well done guys, until next time...
