Lovely friendly and welcoming staff right from the initial phone call to reserve a table, through to the end of the night. A popular pub for both locals and tourists. Reasonably priced pub grub with a good choice of meals. It's not often a meal defeats us, but unfortunately after enjoying a first course we had to leave some of... More

Called into this pub whilst staying just outside Howarth. It's on the high street about half way along. It looks very welcoming from the outside and is very dog friendly. Great range of real ales and the beer I had was tasty and well kept. Nice decor inside and nice staff and clientele. Recommended.

Visited The Fleece on Saturday lunchtime as a large group. We were accommodated well including our dog and the two children in our party.Food was hearty and home cooked and the beer speaks for itself!Loyalty card we had applied for was not there which was a disappointment but we will be back - maybe even today!

Three of us went to the Fleece for another meal. All served with a smile and good service. Food was good quality pub fare. For a starter the Black Pudding with chilli sauce is a good option. The burger was great and the Chicken and Chorizo Tagliatelle very good.

A nice range of homemade pies with homemade chips and mushy peas washed down with a free pint of Taylor's beer, I cannot fault the beer or food in the fleece and the friendly staff

We had a group of 10 so we were very lucky to book a table at the fleece. Very jovial and pleasant service. Good solid pub grub with everybody happy and clean plates all round. I particularly enjoyed my gammon steak washed down with a lovely pint of Timothy Taylor boltmaker. A new beer to me but very impressed. Would... More
