Visited Bengal Brasserie tonight as our first meal out since lockdown started. The restaurant has put screens between tables but these are unobtrusive and actually provided a bit of privacy. There is hand sanitizer on each tables which added to a sense of hyigiene and cleanliness. The service was attentive and the food was delicious. It was our first meal out and it was a great experience- we felt safe in the environment and the social distancing measures the restaurant had put in place and the food was the exceptional high standard we are used to ftom this restaurant. Good food, good wine and a cheeky limoncello to finish off with. A successful first venture out of lockdown.

Been going here for 5 years and getting takeaway through lockdown, we had another last weekend, and i’ve finally got round to reviewing! I can’t praise this place enough, we’ve always had a lovely meal. I went veggie a few years ago and must say I find the veggie curries even yummier than the meat ones. They have such great choices, rather than it being like an afterthought, I’m never afraid to order something new as I know it’ll be delicious. I always tell my friends to try this place as they’re far and away better than anywhere else in north Leeds. Keep up the good work.

Well I must admit was a bit apprehensive about going out for tea at bengal, which before the lockdown was our regular place to visit for dinner, that is if you could get a table. Very different now, we visited Sunday early evening, very quiet I must say!! We were greated by the same staff really pleased to see us with lots of covid secure measures in place, screens between tables, sanitiser on tables and they were only set with cutlery etc once you had ordered. They have a health certificate for the confirmation that the whole restraunt has been disinfected and all the social distancing measure are being put into practice. On the whole a little different to the usual experience but the same excellent food with the same great service, definitely will be back again. A very enjoyable experience under the circumstances. Keep it up boys you are a credit to the catering and hospitality community, leading the way on how things should be done xc

Disappointingly average takeaway from Bengal Brasserie on Roundhay Road tonight which is a shame as the last time I tried the Merrion Way restaurant it was top notch. The mushroom rice was cold and bland, the paneer pakora was also cold and bland and the garlic naan (which didn’t even taste of garlic) was cold. The shabji chameli and the vegetable makhani were warm and just... OK. Thank god we had a 50% voucher for Uber Eats as there is no way I’d have been happy paying full price for it and wouldn’t order from here again.

I ordered a lamb multani with chips and chapati. The lamb multani was fatty and the wrong colour to what I usually get (obviously a change of hands) I couldn’t eat the meat it was so chewy and fatty. The chapati was stale, the chips tasted like they had been warmed up in the microwave and the yoghurt sauce was like water. I paid £16.50 for all of that including delivery and it was disgusting, never again.

It's been a year since my last visit here and we returned to celebrate the same birthdays as before. We'd booked a table of 8 and had a short wait while we waited for our table to be ready but no issues. The food was on point as always bar a few exceptions. One of the groups curry was hotter than normal but this was quickly rectified with the additional of yoghurt and the kitchen had to remake one as they delivered lamb and not chicken. I ordered the Paneer Pakora, Tandoori Special and a Garlic Naan Bread and everything was perfect. I'm also not currently drinking so the addition of an alcohol free Cobra was very welcome. The service overall was very good, with a batch of complimentary drinks to finish the meal. £31.50 per head is also very reasonable when you consider we had 4 bottles of wine and 12 beers. The only thing holding back a 5 star review was the few mistakes from the kitchen but we will most definitely return

First time visit on recommendation to the restaurant on Roundhay Road, and it certainly pleased. Nice friendly staff, great menu and choices, and as an Asian food lover, done a few reviews, this certainly was a great dining experience. Portions are more than plentiful, and most importantly, the flavour cooked a little hotter than what was on the menu for myself, delicious, definitely worth another visit

Having read the good reviews we were excited to order our curry last night. The food was truly awful - the onion bhaji was so greasy that when I bit into it I had a mouthful of oil. I have never in my many bhaji eating years experienced anything so horrible. The 2 curries were both bland and watery and the chicken in both was tough - truly shocking. The garlic naan bread was undercooked, heavy and claggy. We didn't eat it all as we just couldn't, but what we did eat made us both ill and we are still feeling dreadful today. Never again, please be warned. The only positive was the excellent delivery from our first trial of deliveroo.

Very disappointed. I ordered a chicken tikka masala, it arrived cold with a skin on it, but sadly it got worse, it tasted of nothing but coconut. It was clearly a korma with red food dye added. When i complained, i was told by the staff that a korma & a tikka masala were the same thing! If they believe that to be true, then its time to shut up shop!!!!

Regularly visit here with my friends and partner. The guys make every effort to keep their customers happy. Nothing is too much trouble and attention to detail is always of paramount importance. The atmosphere and environment is always very warm and welcoming and the food has always been served to a high standard and made to each individuals taste. Shain and the staff are always accommodating and there hasn't been any one time that i've visited here and not gone home happy and contented from eating some beautifully cooked Asian food, thank you Shain and the team, Debbie and Steve

Eat here almost every week., sometimes twice always a super warm welcome great service, fantastic food and an extensive wine list, as we are regulars we have had the majority of the whole menu, can highly recommend the Massala fish, chicken tikka and sheek keebab all cooked to any strength of spice, the keema mains are always good and the tandoori king prawns are to die for. Make sure you go hungry too as the portions are very generous too. Naans and parata are very fresh and tasty too.

Not been to this place in a long time.On arrival 8pm on a Sunday evening restaurant was virtually empty. We sat at a table for two and were asked several times if we'd like to move to a larger table.Drinks order taken,we looked at menu. Ordered seekh kebab, onion bhajis for starters with Chicken Dopiaza and Chicken Korma with a nan and pilau rice. Was nice to see proper napkins as opposed to paper. The starters were lovely but felt they could have been served hotter.Mains were very good too. Service very good.We were offered a complementary drink after the meal, which I thought was a nice touch. The toilets were immaculate as well. We would go back again.

Took a very long time to even get starters. Servers were quite nice but it wasn't very special. When our meal came my vegetarian lacked flavour and was extremely oily with no sauce. Very disappointing compared to other curries that I've had before. Atmosphere is pretty bad as it's very small and the decor looks a little shabby. Predominantly for takeaway which is why we had to wait so long. Lots of people were waiting at the door the whole time.
