This is a great pub tucked in a side street. I actually went twice and had great vegan pub food both times. Very welcoming to visitors.

Stopped in for a beer on the way back from the football after taking a different walk to the station. Really glad we did, knew this place was here but often don’t go past so haven’t visited before. Lovey little pub, nice atmosphere and a...fantastic selection of beers and wines too. We liked it so much we ordered a Sunday roast too! Nice beer dinner with the usual trimmings. Looks a small portion at first but the perfect size and all tasted delicious. Looking forward to visiting againMore

We booked into The Cross Keys for the first time. We went for Sunday lunch expecting the normal type of Sunday roast, but we were pleasantly surprised with what they had to offer. The chicken and pork accompanied by lovely vegetables were excellent, the sauces...to go with each meat were also lovely. The staff were very good and made the overall experience great.More

I work in the area so occasionally come to cross keys after work when looking for a drink. Lovely big beer garden. For some reason more often than not when passing by the pub is quite empty with a surplus of staff milling about. When...interacting the staff are not overly chatty / friendly, and give the impression you’ve interrupted their group chat with their colleagues. Cat was always lovely, and it’s a shame she’s left now. When the pub is busy it’s a lot more comfortable to pop in for a drink (as it doesn’t feel like you’re in there on your own with 6 members of staff) and it is really a lovely pub from a decor point of view. Food is ok- not blown away, but ok if you’re looking for something to go with your drink. Popped in last year and ordered and was charged incorrectly, and was told ‘whoops we gave you an old menu- we’ve upped our prices now’, and I wasn’t given the option of cancelling my order as a result- which I was a bit disappointed by. Would definitely keep my eye next time when ordering food re the cost, but appreciate perhaps that was a one off. Overall it’s nice enough if you go in at a peak time, as it gets a bit busy but never as busy as the other local pubs (midnight bell, water lane boathouse), so you can generally always find somewhere to sit. Has a good selection of beers. I’d come back, but it wouldn’t be my first choice in the area. Hopefully once summer picks up so will the general feeling of the pub.More

The food was appalling. The Caesar salad was vile - hardly any chicken drowning in mayonnaise ( no Caesar sauce) and nothing fresh. Horrible and gristly Korean burger over-spiced. Can’t believe we stayed to eat.

This pub entered new ownership just before the pandemic hit and did a stylish refurbishment. What you get now is a freindly, cosy pub that gives that country pub vibe whist enjoying all the benefits of being at the heart of the city. Exciting selections...of beers on offer, freindly attentive staff and delicious food. The addition of a string of outdoor lights and outdoor heaters create a warm soft ambience that is super pretty. Also yay for outdoor heaters in pandemic times.More

Following up a friends' recommendation, we went here for lunch yesterday. - and weren't disappoinmted at all! Although, tucked away off the 'beaten track', the Coss Keys was a rare find with a very interesting menu (where else can you eat vish?)., tastey good quality...fresh food, a huge range of craft beers, very clean toilets and very friendly staff! We ate downstairs - but there's also an upstairs room (available for hire) and a huge outside space for drier days! Leeds has many differant restaurants - but this one is a 'must' if you really care about what you eat!More

Great city pub. Tremendous atmosphere. Terrific beer, wine, sprits and soft drink options. Terrifyingly good food. Well done The Cross Keys! Also I thought the kiss on the mouth from the landlord after paying the bill was a welcome and classy touch. See you soon

I’d been recommended,so was really looking forward to eating here. The service was very slow when we arrived, but I thought give them a chance. It only got worse as the hours passed. Everyone’s starters were ok except for mine which was soup, tasteless and gloopy. All...main meals where nice, but we had a wait of at least 35 minutes. We had to keep asking for drinks,we actually got up to go downstairs to order. Then waited another 30 minutes for a dessert menu. Asked for coffee and more drinks, which didn’t arrive after 20 minutes so cancelled them. Asked for the bill which also took forever. It wasn’t till we started putting our coats on that they brought the bill. Unfortunately will not be returning.More

I selected this place for my partners birthday as he prefers casual type dining, also it used to have a good reputation. His sister joined us. On arrival we were impressed by the decor and ambience. The staff were extremely pleasant and the service was...good. The restaurant was quiet though there was a party upstairs. We selected the £20 menu for 2 courses with wine as there was a steak option. The other choice was vegetarian. The wine was ok but the food was truly awful. Both the ham hock terrine and the cauliflower soup came with standard white sliced toast. The terrine was just passable, the soup tasteless thickened stodge. All 3 steaks were inedible and impossible to chew and you could break your teeth on the thrice cooked fries. The peppercorn sauce (extra charge) was completely tasteless, very much like the soup. I complained to our lovely server and he brought us an extra glass of wine each. When pushed, as were were hungry, a complimentary dessert each. However, this was not sufficient to lesson my total disappointment.More

Went to the Cross Keys on a Friday night asked if our dog could come in, "yes certainly sit anywhere" was the reply, the staff were brilliant, took our drinks order and brought a bowl of water for the pooch without prompting. The food was...great, we ordered the steaks, one as per menu, the other with a change of sides, again no problem with the kitchen. The food was hot, cooked to our requirements, nicely presented and plentiful. In all great service, great drinks, great food what more can you ask for.More

Had our wedding meal and evening drinks here yesterday in the upstairs room and just HAD to leave a review! From start to finish ALL the staff were fantastic 👏  The food was amazing (portions are huge!) The welcoming and homely feel put everyone at...ease and made the day fantastic. The help through planning was priceless (thank you Rich!)  and nothing was too much trouble, even Chris one of the chefs was helping when dressing the room the evening before! Again thanks for everything We can honestly recommend this place to anyone wanting a lovely place to hold any event. All of our guests complimented the food and on how lovely and attentive and friendly all the staff were, again thank you Emma and the whole team , you all truly made our day unforgettable ❤ More

My twin brother Stephen and I decided to swing by the area around Granary Wharf and one of the first pubs we visited was The Cross Keys Pub. This pub is smart ,set over two floors ,the interior is superb, lovely decor and furnishings, exposed...brickwork, tv's to enjoy the sport, some original features of the pub have been retained such as the beautiful brick fireplaces and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside, its just a wonderful pub. We were here on a Wednesday afternoon, we ordered a guinness each, guinness was poured in the correct manner even allowing time for the all important settle, we sat outside as it was a roasting hot afternoon and just kicked back, chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our guinness. My guinness was absolutely superb, a thick, creamy and most importantly iced cold guinness bursting with taste, on a hot afternoon a totally refreshing brew, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality pint of the black stuff and to be honest being back in Leeds again after all the recent travel restrictions. We really enjoyed our guinness in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to The Cross Keys Pub we were totally impressed. The Cross Keys Pub is easy to locate along Water Lane. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, Midday till 11pm. Friday & Saturday, Midday till Midnight. Sunday, Midday till 11pm. A wonderful pub in a fantastic area, most definitely well worth seeking out if you're in the area.More

The Cross Keys on Water lane and is a great pub to visit as it serves a fantastic range of beers and a superb food menu. The Cross Keys is more of a gastro-pub with many interesting features throughout the whole interior and superb seating...options and there is also one of the best outside seating areas we sat in on our four day city break in Leeds. We went here while visiting the canalside area of Leeds and decided to visit this pub.As with all the hospitality sector we had to give track and trace details and took our seat in the excellent outside seating area. As it's table service only one of the staff took our order a glass of Guinness each which where well served and priced. The Cross Keys is an excellent pub that serve great beers and with friendly staff and nice amenities and is well worth visiting.Very easy to find from Southbank D bus stop you turn left onto Water lane and it's a short walk.( This is my first review of the Cross Keys). Opening Hours. Hours May Differ From Above Due To The Covid 19 Restrictions Which End On The 19th Of July. Nearest Bus Stop. Monday-Sunday-12.00-22.00. Southbank D bus stop. Nearest Train Station. Leeds train station.More

They don't have their own parking but there is plenty of on street parking nearby. You just might have to walk a little way.
