Friday evening and one poor guy had to serve every table, run the bar, answer the phone and repeatedly unblock the urinals. The situation was not his fault, he was great, but surely if you have only 1 waiter available for a 40 cover restaurant you close the restaurant or bring in emergency staff? Appalling service. Tipped the waiter and... More

We stopped in on a whim as we were passing, the staff made us feel like royalty and were happy to chat. The food was excellent, flavoursome and good quality. The restaurant is clean, and a bit clinical for our taste, but some like it that way! We certainly feel like we fell on our feet and were really lucky... More

Always come here with my partner when we fancy Indian, best place in town! The waiting staff are so friendly, and the food is delicious and well presented. Truly exquisite dining. The decor is very fancy and there is a good ambiance. Plenty of tables so there's no need to book in advance, we always get seated immediately without a... More

We went on a Wowcher deal and what a brilliant deal it was. This must be one of the best curry houses in Yorkshire. Everything was cooked to perfection and more to the point it was absolutely fresh i.e. no partially cooked food to which spices are added later. This was cooked from original meat and spices added. We could... More

The staff were friendly and the décor is ok. The food was absolutely terrible on our visit, the fish starters were almost inedible and the currys were mediocre at best. Won't be returning with there being so many other good Indians in Leeds.

Situated on the rather swish York Place, close to Leeds mainline railway station, Miah’s Place is an Indian restaurant with a wow factor. Right from the outset you really know that you’re in for something special – the restaurant is set within one of the old red brick buildings, behind wrought iron low fencing, its subtle signage indicating that Miah’s Kitchen, a small scale chain making waves throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, is perhaps a little more special than your average Indian eatery. Through the portico-ed front door you’ll enter a stylish dining room furnished in an unusual Art Deco inspired style, with ball topped lamps, sensuous lines and low slung leather seating, all in low key tones. Miah’s Kitchen offers an extensive menu of old Indian favourites, ranging from tandoori dishes to biryanis and baltis as well as a good collection of specialties created especially for the restaurant, using contemporary and traditional techniques. Surprisingly affordable, Miah’s Kitchen provides an upmarket take on Indian dining without the price tag.
