Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic place for brunch, lunch and dinner. Very friendly staff and tasty food. If it’s chilly have open fire on inside. Outside covered area with patio heaters too. Will be returning again soon.

Fantastic welcoming location, had the best time at both the new years celebrations and the Monday night quiz. The cheese board is a must order, so delicious!

The sandwiches were good. Chips a bit pricey, £4 for about 8 chunky chips. The poached pears with honeycomb sounded good, pricey at £7 but hey ho. When they came, wow. Pieces of cold what appeared to be tinned tasteless pears (about half a pear)...with honey comb which was as hard as rock. I questioned it with the waitress, who disappeared!!.More

This was the second family outing after a great experience last year when the place had recently opened. Sadly it did not live up to our previous visit. Menu was very limited, particularly for our vegan family members and also varied massively in quality and...portion size. I opted for the belly pork which arrived in what can only be described as a bowl the size of a bathroom sink. For the price I expected top quality but the skin was rubbery, meat chewy and fatty and ran slightly pink. Portion was very small and lost in the bowl. My husband had ordered a soup starter and our party of 12 began to be served mains. Server seemed surprised that my husband wouldn’t want his soup and fish and chips at the same time so took it away. It was brought back five minutes later while he was still eating his soup, to be sent away again. When he was ready for it, by the time it returned the rest of us had finished eating. Only 2 of us had desserts - a tiny parfait and a huge sticky toffee pudding. All in all not great or consistent and sadly won’t be returning, even though the venue is lovely unless it returns to its former menu and quality.More

Disappointed. Amazing venue, decor is perfect and clearly a lot of time and consideration has been taken to make it just right, that said the food doesn’t match the environment and the service wasn’t great. We waited 20mins before being offered a menu and drinks....After we finished our meal we waited another 20mins without the table being cleared or being offered desert menus. I had to walk to the bar area to ask for the bill. Didn’t help 3 different people serving us; it wasn’t really busy. The staff were pleasant enough, however didn’t look very professional with a mismatch of outfits and one of them having said “I wouldn't drink that sh*t• to one of her colleagues whilst stood at a service station; very unprofessional. For the money we were only given 1 slice of beef, I’ve never had a Sunday lunch with such a small amount of meat. Wouldn't take much to sort these issues out , feel for the owners who should look into this feedback as they have spent a lot of money on the venue and it would be a good place. Currently I wouldn’t book again.More

Menu looks interesting. We selected fish and chips and the meat pie. I found the pie very poor quality very little meat for such a large pie. The crust to filling ratio was very disappointing. The crust was hard and difficult to cut. The gravy...was extremely strong in taste. The mash potato was powdery in texture. The vegetables were quite good. The fish and chips looked good crispy batter and extremely large chips. I was informed the fish was overcooked and rather dry. I noticed the eggcup full of mushy peas looked a rather small potion. The finished plates were not cleared and one of the waiters was sullen and not at all helpful. I will not be returningMore

What a beautiful surprise, the atmosphere and the luxury furniture fantastic. We went at lunchtime my wife and her friend ordered The California club chicken sandwiches l ordered the Beef and Brie sandwich. The malted bread rolls were so unusual and beautiful, the hand cut...chips wow. We sat on the covered terrace looking over the golf course. It was a struggle to finish the sandwiches so filling but outstanding flavours. We have booked Sunday Lunch watchout for my review on that. Great value as well.More
