With a fantastic drink selection, The Myrtle is a hidden gem, with lots of outdoor space, including a heated secret garden marquee, terrace to watch the sunset and a separate beer garden with children's play area. Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked in for a Sunday lunch after seeing the amazing reviews. Haven’t been to this place for many years, and haven’t tried the food here. We sat outside in the lovely covered area they have, a nice break from the heatwave. Service was terrific, really...attentive. We had the three meat roast and they were fantastic. Perfect portion size and tasted fab. All finished off with the sticky toffee pudding which was lovely. Also hi GG it recommend the Malbec. Often underwhelmed by pub wine but this was restaurant quality. Can’t wait to go back!More

Great food, love the small plates / tapas but everyone enjoyed their meal whatever they had. Friendly staff. The whole pub has a great atmosphere. They really go to town with their decorations, it all looks fabulous.

Booked the Myrtle garden marquee for a private family event and cannot recommend them enough. Absolutely brilliant spot, the buffet was bespoke and created to suit our needs and Chris the chef couldn’t do enough for us. Communication was fantastic from the get go and...the price per person was excellent. The Myrtle has a great atmosphere and the marquee was dressed perfectly, despite being in November and chilly outside the fireplace style heater was perfect and kept everyone lovely and warm. Already planning our next event, thanks to all at the Myrtle.More

What a brilliant pub. The Christmas decorations are the best I’ve ever seen in a pub. The attention to detail is well thought out and the impact is truly incredible. It’s worth a visit just to see them.
We were there for the food and...we couldn’t fault it. It was a Christmas meal and it was delicious. Plenty of it without being overpowering. The homemade mulled wine was also delicious being able to taste the wine rather than too much sugar and orange juice.
Entertainment was provided also in the form of a singer. She was very good and everyone was up singing and dancing with her.
All in all we had a brilliant night and wouldn’t hesitate to go again.
Highly recommended.More

Brilliant night for the launch of the new food menu and a first glimpse of the new lodge. The team did an amazing job of getting the whole pub and lodge fed in just a few hours. There was also a Jayne Macdonald tribute on...who was really good fun. Great food, great service and an all together fab night to kick start the build up to Christmas.More
