We were very early and the first customers to arrive but the staff were very welcoming and attentive. The food was delicious and we tried dishes inspired by a recent visit to Delhi by one of our party - we weren't disappointed. The dosa and vegan passanda were particularly tasty and the whole was great value. The decor isn't trendy but probably more authentic than many

Visited with friends to have South Indian food. Every item was delicious and affordable. Especially the (starter) Paneer finger and (main) Kerala Porotta, Beef combination. The staff who served us was too friendly and explained each dishes very clearly during serving. We enjoyed every dishes with the ambience of Kerala . I believe that this restaurant is blessing in a city like Leeds to have South Indian dishes.

This restaurant was recommended by a workmate's colleague, who is from India and always goes there with his family when eating out in Leeds. I've been twice now and both times had a brilliant meal - simple menu with tasty food, friendly staff, and big enough to fit groups in. The slow-cooked beef curry I had the second time (as a combo meal) is genuinely one of the nicest and tastiest curries I can remember having. I can't speak for the authenticity of the food here cause I've never been to Kerala, but I've eaten in a lot of curry houses in Leeds and this one is right up there for value and taste. Yes the service could be a bit more alert, and other reviewers have mentioned that, but they were friendly and gave us a free naan cause we waited a bit for our food.

Absolutely awful food, ordered through Deliveroo who handle the situation really bad too. The we had a Madras and a jalfrezi and both tasted like vinegar/lime concentrate for want of a better example. Had to leave it and it ended up costing us £8 because deliveroo wouldn't refund the rice, a side dish we ordered or the delivery. I like to try a lot of Indian food and this place is one of the worse I've found.

It's always sad to have to give a poor review of any restaurant, but my first visit to this place on a Sunday evening was unacceptable on many counts. The reason was clear - insufficient staff to run a restaurant of this size. There are probably 50 covers here, and when we arrived there were about 20 people eating. There was only 1 person front of house, and nearly all the spare tables were full of used dishes - the one person didn't have time to take the orders, bring the drinks & food & clear the tables after he'd taken payment. We sat down in reception for 10 minutes & then we're seated with menus. We ordered food & drinks, but the drinks didn't come for another 30 minutes, so we sat there with nothing. We should have left, but were hungry & didn't want to have to start looking for an alternative restaurant at 8pm. When the food finally arrived it was nicely presented & tasty. But by then we'd been in an hour. It was all just far too slow. They really need 2 or 3 more people at weekends when people are in the city Christmas shopping.

All you can eat vegan buffet - the starters were nice, if you like deep fried food, but could have done with a selection of sauces, and the salad looked like scrapings from the chopping board after the good stuff had been used elsewhere. The mains and sides were bland, option only of white rice and plain naan. Long delays inbetween courses and the dirty plates were not removed before the next course arrived. Dessert of plantain and ice cream was ok but no other options. Very limited drinks choices, especially the beers.

Went out with work colleagues party of 7. Samosas came out overdone. Starters came out all over the place. No consistency. There was 1 waitress serving about 5 tables. Totally unprofessional service. We were getting ignored most of the time. Main course was nothing special. We ordered 5 kulfis for dessert which took 45 minutes to come and then only 3 arrived when we complained we were told they did not have anymore. We complained about the service and time taken to serve and asked to speak to the manager and were told he was not available. What a waste of time. Never again

The service is the main issue. We ordered with them at 1900 received multiple updates that all was well and food was going to be delivered but the time of delivery was getting later and later. Eventually after 2 hours the whole order was cancelled. Very very poor service.

We were really looking forward to a south indian meal but this place which with a little more effort could have been quite good was a great disappointment.I had the lamb thali and my partner had a dosa. The dosa was crispy but the potato was the wrong sort for dosaand the filling was hard and wet. The lamb curry in the thali verged on the uneatable because it had so many chillies. One wonders if the chef just dropped the chillie pot in. One of the accompanying lentils was very hot too. I like hot curries being an indian, but this was veruy inauthentic. One wonders -were they trying to cover the taste of the meat. Main message :pull your socks up and get the basic ccooking right. Waiters werefriendly and nervous-too many complaints perhaps. Change your cook.

A strange experience. On reviewing the menu, I was excited to try the food as the meals are not your normal curries. Unfortunately the experience was a bit mixed. When ordering the waiter suggested we be careful as we’d ordered a lot of food, which I thought was good service. But we’d ordered a pickle tray with x6 popadoms. When it arrived the tray was tiny and only just suitable for 1 person. So we ordered x2 more but even those portions weren’t great as you only had enough lime pickle for one mouth full. For starters my friends shared a meat platter, which was great value. I’d ordered the fried fish and it wasn’t great (Borderline burnt). Main courses were mixed again. My Chicken Thali was ok, but my friend ordered a chicken dish the waiter said was like a madras that tasted like chicken and Bisto gravy. All in all it was slightly disappointing for what it cost. There’s potential and one dish was amazing. But we could have just ordered the wrong ones. I’d go to Akbars over the road.

Taste of Kerala offers an authentic South Indian dining experience with its warm ambiance and traditional decor. The menu features highlights like Appam with Egg Curry, Kerala Fish Curry, and the delicious Beef Curry, all showcasing rich, flavorful dishes. Don’t miss the crispy Banana Fry for a delightful treat. The service is attentive and friendly, with staff eager to explain the cuisine. Prices are reasonable, and portion sizes are generous, making it a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Kerala flavors.

We had been looking to visit this restaurant for a while but never quite made it until now. The building and decor looks a bit tired but the food was really authentic and tasty. Not too spicy but you know you had eaten a curry based dish We had starters with a main chicken thali and a mutton dish with chapatti and it was a delight on your tongue and taste buds. Meat was cooked to perfection and spices were noticeable individually with an abundance of aromatic spice. Service was slow really for a city centre restaurant but we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere All round great experience. Will definitely go again.

This spot leaves me speechless the food and service are top tier and its incredible how they have an amazing building with a flashy dining area with lights that cover the entire room. The place usually tends to be quiet and peaceful but if it gets loud it just means the people love it. The fish fry was divine and tasted fresh. I am left in awe and will be coming here daily.

I feel bad for the people working here. Terrible terrible management. Never ever opt for the 10 pound menu on Sundays. It's a sham. Just to give context, they allow you to order only one dish at a time and each dish almost takes 45 minutes to reach you. They take so long to get your food that you eventually get pissed off for the wait. No point waiting for it as the food is not good and doesn't have the authentic Kerala cuisine. I hope the management prioritises providing fair and proper service to customers rather than looking to make a money making scheme out of it. Definitely not coming back and definitely not recommending this place to anyone.

Not been to this restaurant for a few years, but we really fancied some South Indian food. The masala dosa was very good with plenty of filling and a good sambar. We had a little disappointment that the menu is not as extensive as that listed online - no aubergine curry, no potato bonda or roast paneer and fewer vegetarian options all round - but I asked if they could do the roast paneer for us, and they did. It was really good, and worth requesting. We were very impressed by the depth of flavour in the bombay potatoes and the dall in the vegetarian thali was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
