Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The experience I had on Friday 1st of December 2023 was quite frankly disappointing to say the least & what I would call prejudice against Single diners. Having dined in this restaurant many many times over the years and supported the restaurant through the lean...times of the Covid restrictions on going out, I feel I must write this in support of many single travellers and single people (I am happily Married and was out for a meal on my own as my wife was out with friends). I entered the restaurant at just after 6pm on the 01/12/2023 to see it was fairly busy for such an early time on a Friday, there were people in the que in front of me been advised to wait at the Bar while their table was been prepared (Half empty restaurant empty tables in full view , a couple of big parties in , plus a few other diners), then I was approached and to be fair was asked for how many diners, and when advised 1 diner it was then I was dismissed fairly sharply - to which the reply was - We don't do tables for one, must be two or more only, sorry goodbye and the door was opened for me. Based on that experience I can only say if you are a single diner wanting Indian cuisine, there are plenty of other restaurants in the Leeds Town Centre vicinity that would welcome you - don't go there, you will not be welcome. I am sorry to say that in my opinion this restaurant cares more about the amount of revenue it can generate than the customer or customers who provide that revenue, be it in either a single visit or multiple visits over multiple years of support, which I may add has now ended as a result of this "service".More

We booked a table (Friday evening) here to be part of a leaving gesture to one of our workmates leaving evening meal. At 18:30 the place was filling up with diners nice ambiance here. Once seated we was offered popadoms and pickle tray. Attentive service...our main orders taken and one thing that was good all the mains came at once. Out of our party nothing was left so I take that a testament to the food we ordered. Nothing too pushy either. To say I’ve never heard of the place , it’s only a short walk from Leeds Railway Station I may be incorrect but our experience Friday evening you’d better booking in advance. Recommend.More

The staff welcomed me late in the evening when they might otherwise have declined my custom. Delicious Kashmiri food. Charming waiters.

Our second visit to the Nawab in Leeds, the food was as incredible as last visit. Staying on Wellington street (Crowne Plaza) the Nawab was very handy for our evening meal. we booked in advance as it is a very popular restaurant. This restaurant serves...the best indian food I have ever tasted, the quality is fantastic! we had Pakoras, samosas and kebab to start, chicken saag, Biriyani and chicken tikka masala for mains. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and efficient, shout out to Ali and Nav for looking after us and Jay the boss who sat and chatted to us at the end of the meal; lovely people. I recommend this place to anybody looking for great Indian foodMore

What a great restaurant, the food is impeccable as well are the staff. I walkways feel warm and welcome here. My personal favourites are the king prawn tikka starters and the tandoori mixed grill. But no matter what you have here, the food will be...cooked to the highest standards.More

Visited for the first time, simply because I saw a review from David Lloyd “Bumble” to you and me. We went with two friends and we were greeted Royally by Jay, he made us feel right at home. I ordered the Lamb chops for starter...and Ginger Chicken for main course along with a peshwari naan, couldn’t fault anything. We have certainly found our New “go too” restaurant in Leeds. Highly recommendMore
