Came here with friends, fabulous evening. Staff are always immaculate and so polite. Food is presented at the right time and always cooked to perfection. Menu is extensive and interesting. Buzzing atmosphere. We regularly go to this restaurant and the only complaint is it can be so busy you end up waiting a while to be seated, but I guess that speaks for itself.

Fantastic service from GiGi and the lady wearing blue. Gigi greeted us with a lovely smile which always makes a great first impression. The service from the ladies was very good. Sukhothai special platter starter for 2 was absolutely amazing. I enjoyed my main however, my husband said his steak was very chewy and rubbery and it did appear so, which was a shame. Only other small gripe is that they bring you out the rice and its a boil in the bag rice. Seems an awful lot to pay for a boil in the bag rice! From a restaurant like this, you would expect it to be freshly cooked. I'd be more accepting of this if the rice came free with a main dish but you pay around 4.50 for one boil in the bag rice. Overall, lovely food and great service. Thank you Gigi!

I cannot recommend and compliment this restaurant and their staff enough.
I first came here a number of years ago when it first opened. Coming back to the UK, and organising a family meal, with severe food allergies, and 2 young nieces, the staff made us feel welcome, were friendly, helped my mum with the menu, having had the opportunity to have travelled around Thailand on a few occasions, the food here, and the welcome and ambience reminded of there. First of all the service was none existent. No one came over to ask if we needed any drinks or to ask how the food was. When we eventually got someone’s attention to order drinks we then waited at least 30 mins for a beer and mango juice, and to add on the mango juice wasn’t like it was fresh it was in a carton so shouldn’t of taken that long. We had the buffet option and all the food wasn’t hot and it wasn’t getting re filled when needed. We was in the restaurant for 2 hours and before we left there was still no prawn and squid curry. When it came to the bill my jaw almost dropped as the food and service did not justify the price. On top of that they asked for service charge which is questionable and unnecessary.

We went few times and never have any issue but this time the service received not acceptable. We were 8 in the party, They missed few starters and later when main dishes arrived missed two dishes. Main course dishes ( 8 in total) came one at a time by the time 6th dish arrived it was too late. One dish severed was wrong and show no courtesy to replace. As they missed 2 dishes when we told the staff by the time they brought others have oaten already. Missed one dish of desert.
More annoying they added service charge over £15.00
Very surprised by this poor service
Though food was excellent.

Visited for a family birthday, 6 of us and the food was so disappointing. Spare ribs arrived and they seem to have been boiled, a pale fatty mess. Soup was tiny and the broth just had loads of raw veg chucked on top. All starters were very small and bland.
The mains were also terrible, 3 of us ordered different dishes that all tasted exactly the same, again all small and hardly and meat. Spicy pad Thai was bland. Two people ordered the most expensive dishes, the steaks, £21 and £27. One was literally just a piece of steak with some onions. They don’t even include sides so you have to buy rice for £4. The £27 steak dish was quite nice but for a £31 main it should be amazing!
I never thought I would come across a chocolate cake that was inedible but they managed it. It was stale horrible cheap cake. One came with happy birthday written on it which was nice but we did think that one would be a goodwill gesture but no it was £6.50. £13 for two small pieces of cheap inedible cake.
£240 in total with 10% gratuity added, it can be removed but that’s awkward. Never again, probably the worst meal I’ve ever had and I left hungry.

I've eaten at Sukhothai many, many times and the food and service has always been excellent. I recently ordered a takeaway from the Chapel Allerton branch one Saturday night, and the time it took to arrive was better than they initially quoted me, which meant things started off great, and the service from the staff was great as always.
I ordered the same starter and main course that I've eaten in the restaurant many times, and it's always been delicious. Unfortunately, these same dishes made as a takeaway were horrible! Both dishes tasted like a cheap take away meal, greasy and poorly presented. Given that the prices were the same as in the restaurant, I felt robbed, and it was incredibly poor value for money! I will not order a takeaway from here again, and in future will stick to eating in the restaurant. 🤢

Four of us visited this restaurant last night as we have been before and really liked the food and service. However, last night everything was terrible. It seems like they have squeezed in more tables and we were sat so close to other tables it was as though we were sat with them. There was no room for the staff to move between the tables. We had to move tables as we were too close to the table behind us and still needed room for staff to get passed. It was so noisy we could not hear each other. It was very busy and seemed under staffed. They tried to rush us into ordering our food and then we waited ages for it. When it did arrive it was very disappointing. We had bbq spareribs for starters and they came in a narrow dish with nowhere to put the bones but on the table, we had to ask twice for a plate.The chicken was thinly sliced and fried in breadcrumbs and so over cooked we could not cut it with the knife and it had no taste. The sauce that came with it was supposed to be hot but was creamy and sweat. They brought the wrong rice and then replaced it with the correct one and we were charged for both. We also had a dish with prawns which were in the shells and again there was nowhere to put the shells but on the table. the sauce was not supposed to be hot was was very spicy. We asked for a second drink and never received it. We decide to just eat as quickly as we could and leave. We got the bill and they had already added the service charge to the total, but it said it was ‘optional’ so we would have had to deduct it if we did not want to pay it. It was more of an ‘opt out’ than an ‘opt in’ charge. And it was expensive for the poor food. We left and went to a local pub for a more enjoyable drink and chat. We all decided that we will scratch this restaurant off our list for the future.

Been to Sukothai in Leeds city and Harrogate a number of times and always enjoyed, but was slightly disappointed at this branch. We had the sharing platter starter and two items were tasteless,, fishcakes And sweetcorn cakes.. and the prawns were a bit over battered - the chilli sauce was also very sparse and no vegetable relish… after, we were offered more chilli sauce for the prawn crackers we had ordered, but a little late for the starters . Hubby had pad Thai which was gorgeous. I had chicken red curry , which was flavoursome and a lovely creamy coconut, sauce , but no spicy kick despite it being ranked 🌶 🌶 🌶 - had two bottles of zero Heineken - Dry Jan saddos 🤣 overall disappointing was a waste of £60 on a plus side the service was excellent and decor alway very impressive ❤️

I ordered a family takeaway meal from here; 4 mains, a side and some other bits. Unfortunately when I got home, one of the dishes was missing. I phoned and was told I could come and collect it myself and disrupt a family meal with a 25 minute round trip or have a refund and be left short of food. They appologised but despite it being their mistake refused to deliver the meal to me. I ended up taking the refund, or so I thought.
Now nearly 2 weeks later, after 3 phone calls and an email a refund for the £14 dish has not been processed. So now as well as missing food, I'll be going to the hassle of informing my credit card company. The absolute minimum they should be doing is promptly processing a refund for the food they didn't provide but it seems they can't even be bothered to get that right. Avoid.

Out favourite restaurant and it never fails to impress.. for a change we thought we would try the leeds centre restaurant last month, the food was good but the service was very poor and not what we have come to expect from the Sukhothai chain. It was expensive but certainly did not live up to the standards we always get at Chappel Allerton. We dined there today and chose the valentines menu which was both beautiful and fantastic value for money. The experience last month at the City centre restaurant was not great but todays dining experience was fantastic. The ambience, service and food were excellent. Thank you

So the food is lovely, I ordered a takeaway, the prawn crackers came without any chilli sauce and the brown rice was deffo not brown rice, but white rice with some colour in it. It was starchy and overcooked so I wouldn’t bother with that. But the red curry sauce was beautiful.

Booked a table yet had to wait 20 minutes before being shown to it and restaurant not full. Another 20 min wait for starter which in fairness were very good. Brought hot plates -therefore expected main course - but that did not arrive for another 25 minutes so had to ask for plates to be exchanged. By that time we had lost interest and whilst the main course was ok the appalling service ruined the evening and we will not be returning

I saw this advertised on Facebook & thought this is definitely worth the journey from York.
Very warm welcome from the Manager & all the staff.
The food was amazing , we tried everything & there was a good selection always on offer.... fantastic 😍
The Restaurant is quite 'cosy' and this might be a problem for some you are very close to other people on other tables.

Poor customer service, 10 minutes until asked if we would like a drink. Upon selecting the food from the buffet, we quickly began to realise it was not fresh or kept at a good temperature. Chicken & pork was cold. When I returned my plate to the waitress and told her it was cold, I was met with a disgusting look and zero communication. Very rude and terrible food
