Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

cake stall at Otley, cakes looked very nice, no prices though. bought a frangepani tart(small size) a puff pastry with pistachio filling and a small oink strawberry cheese cake, it came to £13.60, which shocked me, but foolishly I completed the sale thinking they would...be really outstanding. the frangipani was edible but nothing special, the puff pastry had a horrible bitter tasting filling and cheese cake was thick and stodgy with soggy biscuit base. really not worth a fraction of cost, not good at all.More

This place, once popular locally, has been going downhill for years, and has now closed. Hard to believe that a once thriving business could have been ruined in the way it was. The closure was entirely expected.

Visited the stall in Wetherby today and bought 2 cannolis they were stale and tasteless, 1 saucer sized pizza which had a thick dry base a smudge of tomato purée and some tasteless cheese also a filo type pastry filled with some sort of pistachio...also not good. These 4 small items cost £16 I feel ripped off! Would not recommendMore

We have been to casa mia for many years and loved it. This time you can see a definite change. It's now an electric bike/restaurant . Service was very good but food a let down. The boss garlic bread used to be a go to...always however now it's lost its umph. Seafood and chefs choice pizza was ok but didn't stand out or have anything special like it used to. Inside looks run down and its just lost its sparkle which is a shame Possibly changed owners.More

A bland and impersonal place that was cold and uninviting. The salads were plain and lacking in prawns, calamari and other sea food. The pasta dishes were tasteless and the pizza was a dried out dough with a smear of tomato paste.

This restaurant has been a leader in rustic Italian food and ambience for many years. Sadly not any more. Is it an electric bike shop or a restaurant? Difficult to decide. Very confused on entry - had we even gone to the right address. Electric...bikes and their accompanying accessories are strewn across the restaurant with no demarcation. Menu ok. Service ok. But nothing special. The lovely deli and cake counter has gone. All in all a disappointment and we won't be returning. Sad.More

Not a great visit - many ideas not available on the menu. Small portions both for starter and main. I had mushrooms and crayfish pasta … 4 ravioli as a main. My friend had a piece of salmon at £19.50 … just salmon and then...a further £4 for potatoesMore

We used to love eating here, fresh homemade food with generous portions, at lunchtime today we took our 2 kids, they had the kids menu the tomato sauce for their doughballs was tasteless, the doughballs were overcooked, the apple juice was dull and synthetic and...artificial, what happened to the vibrant zingy sauce? The fresh fruity juice? The soft doughballs? For mains our daughter had spagbol, pasta was over cooked n once more the sauce was tasteless, our son had a pizza, tinned pinapple chunks, not what we had come to expect, we shared a tomato garlic cheese bread, it was aromatic right up and until we taste it and then it was bland once more, we didnt stay for desert as the only saving grace was the coffee was tastyMore

Cakes look lovely, and the sales patter is the best; you also get little samples, of selected items, and it's very tempting to buy more than you planned. Take care; the sampled almond biscuits were indeed lovely, everything else was very disappointing. My partner threw...most of his doughnut away, the pistachio/chocolate 'cannelloni' was tasteless. Not cheap either; we wished we'd given our custom to one of the other stalls.More

We came expecting an expensive but good quality breakfast but got an expensive crap one instead. Two sad toasties with no side (not even some sad leaf), made out of cheap super market bread with tasteless cheap supermarket cheese and ham. As it went colder...it became chewier. Hot chocolate was pretty tasteless as well. Kind waitress but we are certainly not coming again. I’m still hungry and unhappy!More

Came here with a friend for breakfast this morning. No biggie that we had to be seated and served by the very kind gentleman from the bike shop side of the business because the restaurant floor was otherwise unattended, but wasn't the most encouraging start....The food was ridiculously low quality for the price. Poor quality unseasoned scrambled eggs, soggy gristly bacon, soggy basic brown bread triangles (when the menu specifically said 'served with Italian bread'). All of this would be barely acceptable if you were paying £5 or so in a greasy spoon cafe, but for £9 from a Italian restaurant on Chapel Allerton high street is pretty whack. The funniest thing is they actually had Italian ciabatta that was advertised, but I only got it when I complained. Wouldn't ever dream of coming back to eat here based on this half-assed breakfast experience.More

Both the takeaway menu and website advertise 2 for 1 with the large pizza's on a Monday and Wednesday night until 7pm. Two weeks ago, on a Wednesday, I arrived in plenty of time before 7, and ordered my 4 pizzas. After about 15 minutes,...the waiter asked if I wanted to pay and offered me the bill of £36. I said that they were 2 for 1, so the bill should have been £18, he said that they had not done that offer for a while now. The owner arrived and agreed even though the takeaway menu and website still included them. I was offered free desserts or a discount. They mentioned that the new menu was being brought in after Covid, but why had they not changed it during Covid? Since my pizzas were already in the oven, they were prepared to loose £18 worth of meals, rather than gain £18 worth of sales. I have returned to the restaurant twice since then, and the takeaway menu, and even their website still includes the 2 for 1 offers. You can't offer prices/offers that do not exist.More

Having moved back to the area recently, I had memories of Casa Mia being a bit of a long established local institution, or did I dream that?! How disappointed we were! We went for brunch, were greeted by miserable staff that really didn't look like...they could be bothered or would rather be somewhere else. When our food arrived it was boring, tasteless & unimaginative. Whilst I am trying to be understanding how tough & difficult it has been for this industry recently, this place just feels sad, shabby & unloved! I'm not sure that half bike shop is really giving the right first impression. Sad to say we won't be returning as we left very disappointed & underwhelmed. No wonder Cafe Nero next door was full whilst this place was virtually empty. A good independent should be able to beat a mass chain cafe surely!? I regularly see social media posts of amazing cakes by Casa Mia at local markets, but what about your original restaurant? Come on Casa Mia, sort yourselves out!More

Casa Mia has been a favourite of ours for years but our last 2 trips have been a hige let down. Not only is it neither bike shop nor restaurant, creating a really strange atmosphere, our recent visit for dinner was disappointing with no atmosphere,...poor quality food and dreadful service. We returned for coffee, not by choice but because all other coffee shops were full and thought we'd be safe with coffee and breakfast. Not so, despite the waiter returning to confirm it was oat milk that I wanted in my cappucino, I ended up with an americano and had to catch his attention to have it replaced. Then, the vegetarian breakfast arrived without the halloumi and no mention that there wasn't any. When we brought it up, the waiter would have simply taken the breakfast away until my husband asked if they could simply bring the halloumi out. He was then informed that they didn't have any and offered mushrooms or spinach instead. Hardly the same. We have tried to frequent the small independent shops in Chapel Allerton but after 2 very disappointing visits we will not be returning to Casa Mia. Such a shame to see a Chapel A favourite deteriorating as it has.More

Just like the Roman Empire overstretched itself, so did Casa Mia, and their empire has crumbled from a haughty handful of arrogantly-staffed Leeds restaurants, to what they once referred to as 'The Coffee Shop', which they now share with a bike shop. It's a slightly...bizarre place to eat, and the menus are tired and unimaginative, but the coffee is OK, and unlike most of the more recent Chapel A eateries, they don't spit in your face if you try to pay with cash.More
