I attended the pub quiz last night and had a most enjoyable evening. The pub is nicely decorated and appeared clean and tidy. Staff were pleasant and helpful There was a DJ and quiz master for the evening which started around 9 pm so plenty...of time beforehand for drinks and chatting and food....although I didn't eat so can't comment on the food! Might try that out next time :)More

Came here tonight since it has been under new management. I can’t tell you how much I recommend this pub. Lovely stuff, amazing landlord. Used to be such a regular and will be once again!

Annoyed that Drysalters Pub not serving food, I arrived in this lively local, had a couple of glasses of wine and ordered burger and fries. Good service in noisy environment, burger ok, onion rings a bit greasy. Not a real problem, ate everything and grateful...I could get something to eat as hotel restaurant closed!More

So me, my boyfriend and our friend all 18 with valid 18 year old ID walked in and was all asked to show our ID everything was okay until she looked at my friends ID, his passport was renewed in 2016 so his photos was...fairly updated. She refused his service because he looked young in his photo? He looks identical just without his glasses on so he asked if he should remove his glasses and she continues to say in a rude manner I can’t accept this as ID because you look young baring in mind it says his date of birth and proves his age. She then continued to carry on speaking to us in a really disrespectful tone and was speaking to other people around her as if to embarrass us. She shouldn’t be allowed behind the bar it’s all about customer service and hers is shocking! Does this mean I got my provisional in 2017 which makes me 17 should I have been refused service for being young?More

We went for a meal after picking 2children up from school 3-30 the place was a mess no menus on tables so asked if they were serving food the women behind the bar said she had taken the menus away when told by barman, she...said I’ll see if I can find one came out with one menu and gave us a dirty look, I gave her it back told her we did not like her attitude and walked out her behaving like this is going to ruin a good pub.More

We went to whistle stop on Saturday the 19th may . There was a meatloaf tribute act on the bar staff were very friendly and polite . However later in the night my 18 year old son came to meet us after he finished work...so got there about 10.50 . The landlady perched on her stool outside and refused his entry . I went out to speak to her and she was very rude and obnoxious said “ my rules my pub” and he not coming in she then continued to ignore me when I asked why . Very rude . But she takes my sons money when he goes in through the week to play pool . But only on her terms it’s no wonder all our local pubs are closing down if that’s . How there been run . By rude individuals who think they rule the world .More

My family and a few friends all went into the whistle stop pub with 3 children (aged:3,7 and 12). Walked up to the bar at around 7:30 pm and was instantly refused any order before asking. I would have understood if she would have told...us the children weren’t allowed in but she looked us up and down and said “you’re not allowed to order with children on the premises”. She said this in an extremely rude manner. Now I’m not usually one for putting in complaints but the way she treated us customers at her own pub was absolutely disgusting! I genuinely don’t understand how one could be so mind numbingly rude to people who are literally putting money in her pocket.More

On a recent trip to Leeds, needed something much better than junk fast food to eat , looked up nearest sizzling pub,it was less than 4 miles away from us , went , found it , went in , quite busy, thanks to a local...couple who were finishing their drinks , who gave us their table , ordered our food , great service from a sizzling pub, good quality food at a reasonable price, didn't have to wait long , staff were great even though we came from over the other side of the hillMore
