Fabulous food, friendly service and a great environment. Throughout the Covid situation we have had multiple Thai takeaways. The food is always yummy and it’s amazing value at £10 per person. You can book to eat in now too and enjoy the lovely environment and great friendly service. We had a roast on Sunday too which was probably the best I’ve ever had, you get what you pay for and then some. Really recommend. They’re being very sensible with reopening and trying to do all the right things by their customers.

Well, in response to the current pandemic, this great restaurant and bar is offering a takeaway/delivered menu comprising their fantastic Fish & Chips, Burger & Chips and Pizzas with beer/wine.
They will even deliver locally but, fortunately, I am in walking distance so we enjoyed a brilliant, restaurant quality, fish supper this evening.
It was good to see the locals supporting this pub during these difficult times.
We all recognise that 'if you don't use it, you'll lose it!' and we don't want to lose it.

Had heard great things about the food but particularly the roast dinners. We had a pre drink in the Barn (called ahead to check) which had a lovely atmosphere and people were also eating in there. Then moved into the pub restaurant for our meal. We all had the lamb which was perfectly cooked accompanied by plenty of vegetables and huge Yorkshire Pud. We shared a dessert and some cheese and a very nice Malbec and thoroughly enjoyed it all. The service was friendly and spot on and all very Covid safe. It’s more expensive than the average but worth it - we had a lovely time thank you.

Visited this overrated pub in the evening for drinks and nibbles with friends over the weekend. Asked for the food and drinks menu which arrived 30 minutes after asking a second waiter for them. Considering the drinks order wasn’t very complicated at all, we still had to wait 20 minutes for them to arrive.
As we didn’t have a designated waiter/waitress we had to ask another member of staff if we could eventually order some food. After an hour went by, we asked the waitress where our food was. Again, not a complicated order but waited over an hour to be served some bland pizzas and cold sides. We had to ask for cutlery, sauces and extra plates from another waiter as the waitress that delivered our food didn’t bother to ask if we needed anything else.
We didn’t bother complaining about the food at the time, as we thought we may have had to wait longer.
Our plates were left on our table for a considerable amount of time, before what we thought may have been the manager came over and took some but not all of our plates away. Waiters and waitresses were up and down where we were sat, and didn’t even bother taking the rest away from our table.
Not long after we asked for the bill which arrived, the man who looked like the manager came over and asked how we would like to pay. At the time we were still debating whether it would just be easier to split it or for one person to pay for the bill. The man sarcastically said “just keep me waiting, that’s alright.” To which we were all pretty shocked and surprised from his comment and attitude.
We said give us 2 minutes so we can decide on how we would like to pay. After waiting over 30 minutes to pay the bill, I got up and went inside and asked if someone could come to our table as we wanted to pay and leave.
We then waited nearly 10 minutes for a different waiter to come over to sort our bill out. Meanwhile looked like the manager was having a great time chatting away to other customers and not doing any actual work.
We were very tempted just to walk out and leave.
The service and food was absolutely dreadful!
Will NOT be returning to this over rated establishment.

Visited on what I knew would be a busy day so booked well in advance. I was called to say they would only be serving a reduced menu (barbecue and pizza) which was fine by us.
The table we were allocated, was in the way of the constant stream of people ordering drinks at the bar so decided to sit outside.
After have to ask for menus, we went to the grill to order food and told they weren’t taking any food orders for 30/40 minutes.
Went back after 30 minutes and was told it was going to be another 20. Then returned, and still couldn’t order food!
After not being able to order food for over an hour despite having booked, the manager told me I could of actually ordered pizza. So we did. 4 of them!
Went back to the bar to order drinks, and after waiting 10 minutes to be served, they had run out of Sauvignon blanc. I was told I could go to the other bar as they would have it there. In which I did. (Also think that they should add a New Zealand SB to their drinks menu)
Another 15 minute queue to finish off the drinks order… not impressed.
So after nearly 25 minutes, I get back to my table and only 3 out of the 4 pizzas had arrived. Mine was the one missing… now I’m really unimpressed.
My friends had finished theirs by the time mine had come out so they had to sit and wait for me to eat. Also delaying our evening plans.
The venue is lovely but maybe a bit too big for them to cope. Pizza was good once it finally arrived. Staff are polite and friendly, however I think lacking experience.
I probably would return but not if the sun’s out.
The sun attracts people to lovely garden/tent area and when it’s busy, the service and experience nose dives. This is reflected in the rating.

Attended a friend's birthday party this afternoon in the garden of the Pinkneys Arms. On arrival was told that it was table service only and that someone would take my order once I had joined my table. Once sat down a friend attracted the attention of a member of staff to order two beers. After waiting 15 minutes there was no sign of the drinks arriving so we asked another member of staff to follow this uo. Another 10 minutes and still no sign of any drinks. Other members of our party were actually walking into the bar to pay and collect their drinks the 'traditional' way. After a 3rd request our drinks did eventually arrive after 30 minutes of waiting. I don't want to knock the staff, things were fairly busy, but not overcrowded, perhaps if I had been given the option when entering of ordering my own drinks from the bar it would have made things a lot easier (+ I would have spent a few more quid!) Anyway, after that service rapidly improved, lovely pub and overall an enjoyable afternoon.

We had Tuesday Thai Takeaway last night and it was fantastic. Yum Nua steak salad starter which was the star of the show, followed by a delicious Thai green curry. Payment and pick up was extremely well organised and we will definitely be using this service again.

Visited with friends on 17 December to celebrate Xmas. Called ahead & asked if we could have Xmas set menu AND normal A La Carte menu to please our group of 8 & was told it was fine.
On arrival was told we could not have Xmas menu as hadn't pre-ordered.
We're given main menus, which is limited, and told all steak was unavailable along with pies.
Ordered starter of king prawns with Nduja & Chorizo (at £14!) which arrived with 4 tiny prawns.
Our mains were also barely enough to fill up a toddler, an absolute disgrace for the extortionate amounts they charge.
They had run out of a couple of main dishes and told us just before serving.
This place is local to us & was a firm favourite, but has drastically declined.

My parents went to The Pinkneys for lunch last week and the food was inedible.
They ordered steak frites, the steak was grey and they could barely get their knives to cut through it. They don’t like to cause a fuss so just left their food rather than complaining. When the plates were collected nothing was asked as to why the food was not eaten.
When they paid the bill the staff member asked “ was everything okay with your food” to which they replied “ no it was terrible, we couldn’t eat it”. The staff member said oh sorry and continued to take their £65!!

On arrival we were told our table was in the Barn to the rear of the main building: that was fine, except our booked table had insufficient chairs for our group of six: there was quite a fuss whilst furniture (very heavy) was moved about to accommodate us.
Eventually settled, no wine list was available, several of the beers offered were not available, and tap water asked for was forgotten. When later, the bill came we were shocked to find a 175m glass of wine was charged at £10 and low alcohol beer was £5.75! - no wonder the drinks list was hidden from us.
The Sunday menu is very limited, offering roast meats, a fish dish and a vegetarian option. Prices are high at £23/24 , and so expectations were raised of a high quality meal: however the chicken was a small offering, the beef tasty, without excelling. The vegetable selection was impressive, but the cauliflower cheese dish arrived with no serving spoon, requested sauces took ages to arrive and meals were half eaten by then. Two small children shared a pasta plate, but the second bowl was forgotten, and their ice cream was brought to the table without spoons.
No service charge was added to our bill, and I'm not sure whether this was waived in recognition of poor service, but we did not offer any gratuity as the whole experience was disappointingly 'off key'
The staff appeared inexperienced and although pleasant enough, need to up their game to match the prices charged.

I thoroughly enjoyed dining here with three others. We were politely greeted and shown to our outdoor table which would have been number 31 if we had arrived on time. A caring waitress must have noticed that I was very uncomfortable sitting on the bench after I got out of my wheelchair. She came over and asked us if we would like to eat at a table inside instead. The starters, dinners and desserts were cooked to perfection. We all adored their specialities. I thoroughly enjoyed the scallops and prawns starter, the delicious roast sirloin of beef from the Royal Windsor Farms with an extra selection of vegetables and an enormous Yorkshire pudding. The beef was very tender and gorgeous to eat. It was the most delicious beef I have ever eaten. The dessert which had coconut and mango in it was also gorgeous. The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxing as well. I loved it all. We will definitely dine there again.

I booked to go for Sunday lunch for my girlfriends birthday and we were really impressed. I had heard really good reviews so was keen to try. The table wasn’t ready when we arrived so they sat us in the barn and gave us a free round of drinks which was a really nice touch. Decor is really nice, intimate, homely feel, restaurant is locally run with great staff who are friendly. Roast was excellent, plated really well, cauliflower cheese & extra veggies served in a cast iron pan on the side. Was the complete gastro pub, high end roast dinner experience I was craving being slightly hungover on a Sunday! Can’t wait to go again and try the regular menu!

Ordered 2 pizzas. Very dried out to the point where even the cheese was dry. Pointed out to staff who stated as we had already paid (£11.50 per pizza) we could have a complimentary drink. We declined as we were driving. No alternative was offered and didn’t see staff again. Unimpressed and won’t be going back or recommending.

We visited The Pinkneys Arms as a family of four last Sunday. We were greeted by the warm, friendly staff and shown to a lovely table situated next to the fire place in the main pub. We ordered scallops and prawns for starters along with some warm breads and oils. The scallops were cooked well and were lovely and fresh. Pil Pil prawns were lovely too, with a nice kick of spice. Onto the mains, and roast beef was our choice. Locally sourced from The Royal Windsor Farms., the sirloin of beef was exceptional. Cooked beautifully pink, it melted in the mouth. This was accompanied by a beautiful selection of seasonal vegetables, cooked to perfection. Crispy roast potatoes and light fluffy Yorkshire pud's were fantastic. Genuinely, this roast dinner was up there with the best I have ever eaten. It was 10/10, I couldn't fault a single element and look forward with eager anticipation to return.

Visited here for a Sunday Roast.
After being seated for 20 minutes we still had not been served and there was no sign of staff, so we headed to the bar to place our order.
We then waited 35 minutes for our food to arrive. We had no cutlery and were not asked if we wanted any sauces ect, and had to call back the waiter as he walked away. When we went to eat the food, it was simply poor. The roast potatoes were cold and soggy with no flavour other than cardboard, the Yorkshire pudding was wet and limp, the pork belly was dry and chewy yet somehow the crackling was soft; this was all topped off with a very watery gravy.
The restaurant wasn’t busy and the staff inside were simply loitering around. The staff were disinterested in our complaint. When we walked through the pub to the barn, one waited was calling across to another stating how he didn’t want to clear the plates because he couldn’t be bothered.
Unfortunately we will not be returning as this is the third out of five visits that has been bad. Only on one occasion did staff try to make up for this with the offer of a free drink, on the other it was simply our food put in the microwave.
Given that this is one of the most expensive roasts in the area, it’s not worth it. There are much better options locally at a similar price point such as the white oak or Belgian arms.
