A delightful little pub with friendly staff and an imaginative menu. It was a cold lunchtime but the welcome was warm. The food was well prepared and nicely presented. The carpaccio of beef was soft and perfectly cooked whilst my guest enjoyed her scotch egg...that was just right. Moving on we both had tempura battered fish and chips - very nice, crisp and light although the chips were a little greasy. Excellent mushy peas! No room for anything else although a coffee would have been nice (machine was in the process of being replaced). I would definitely return.More

We had such wonderful time, great place to enjoy a nice evening ,catching up with my friend. The food was absolutely 10 out of 10, so delicious and full of flavour with perfect presentation. Next time I need to make sure I am not drinking...so I can enjoy a nice bottle of wine too. Also the staff are extremely nice and understanding. We are so looking forward to comeback to this beautiful country side super cozy place. ❤️More

My friends and I came for wine and a catch up but were enticed by the pizza menu and definitely were not disappointed. The customer service, the drink choice and the food were all equally fantastic and we have agreed we will definitely be back....This is a well deserved 5 star review!!! Thank you to all the staff at The Pinkneys ArmsMore

A very expensive Sunday lunch with 2 small slices of beef, loads of veg, but roast potatoes hard. £11 for a glass of wine. Service appalling.

Always loved this place & recommended it to so many people after some superb meals. Last few visits have been disappointing & since read other reviews of basic items being 'out of stock'! If wines have not been available for months, then why not reprint...the wine list? Would be such a shame if this place doesn't 'make it' but they certainly need to buck up their ideas. Basic facilities are not 'spot on' - loose & wonky toilet seats in outside toilet, no handcream, cushions in front bar on seats very stained. These things are as important or almost as important as the food. Disappointed!More

Omg. I have never been so dissatisfied. Food and service, we’re below what you’d expect now days. I’ve just paid £14 for 3 king prawns, some tasteless sauce and 2 slices of bread That’s not the half of it, we we served but at leas5...4 different disappearing staff members, if different levels of attentiveness. We had to ask for our order to be taken, ask where our mains were, we had to ask for the dessert menu - no one came to see if we wanted dessert. Then had to go find a member of staff for the bill. The starters are expensive and very small. The mains were not written down, and therefore turned up wrong ( this was taken off of the bill) I’ve paid a-lot of money for 3 prawns, some duck sprinkled over a bowl of salad and some burnt chips. Shou,£ have known when I could smell the oil in the car park. Just to top everything off £6.20 for a punt of cider. It was very disappointing and we will not be returning 😟☹️More

The Pinkneys Arms is a wonderful pub with a beautiful outdoor space. I had the Ham Hock Salad and we also had the Monk fish phanang which were both marvellous. Staff were nice and friendly and do not shy from having a nice conversation at...the bar. Definitely will be coming back in the future!!More

Sadly the PA has been going downhill for a good long while. Wine is crazy expensive (large glass £12) and so I tend to stick to beer if I do visit. They’ve started advertising themed afternoons and cocktail happy hours but seem to struggle with...basic stock levels, even for soft drinks - no soda water, and other soft drinks missing - and only sold by the (fevertree) bottle rather than on tap. Middle of the summer and no aperol at all (I know, first world problems, but it was a fave drink for the birthday girl, who doesn’t like much alcohol but enjoys aperol). The night we were there for a birthday, we were just having pizzas and they had run out of cheese! We had pizzas served with grated cheddar on top, which just didn’t cut it. The kids left running the place did their best but all are very young and inexperienced, and shouldn’t be left to have to tell customers they can’t have a pizza because they’ve run out of cheese. The newly installed dog drinks fridge was better stocked than the bar. I’m so sad to see what was such a promising place lose its way. Such a shame that it continues to miss the opportunity to be great!More

I decided to treat my daughter to a lunch meal, but left very disappointed. I first asked for an Aspalls cider which they didn't have, then I put my food order into which again I was told they didn't have the Duo of lamb. So...I was recommended the Braised Beef, Truffle Mash , Chard and Sticky Jus. The Beef was tasteless, the Chard was very tough and not enough of the Sticky Jus. My daughters meal the Duck Breast looked over cooked because it wasn't pink inside, however it did taste nice. I then went to order my daughters pudding the White Chocolate Fondant and noticed the specials board which consisted of Whole Lobster and Half Lobster. When I queried that I hadn't been shown the specials board and was quite upset that I hadn't, I was informed that they didn't have any Lobster. How can you advertise things that you don't have !! and this isn't the first time I have experienced the lack of food in this restaurant. We also waited for around 20 minutes or longer for the pudding when a young lad appeared to explain that they didn't have the Salted Caramel Ice Cream to go with the Fondant. By this time I was furious, so wanted to pay the bill and leave. They said, but we have cooked the Fondant to which I said I couldn't careless and left. I certainly won't be rushing back there in a hurry and to top it all off, they are still on their WINTER MENU ?? during a heatwave..More

What a shame! one of my favourite places for a local pint after a dog walk. We recommended it to a friend for an intimate Birthday meal and whilst the young and inexperienced staff were polite, they have clearly not been trained well. Our table...was booked for 730, it was a Saturday but it was not more than half full, we had to ask for our order to be taken, which was eventually done by the manageress, after a considerable amount of time some meals arrived but there seemed to be confusion over our table number. Eventually 6 of the 8 meals were delivered and then nothing no sauces or condiments no checking ‘ if everything was alright with our meals?’ You know, normal stuff! I enquired of one of the young staff if the missing meals were due to come and following some deliberations the manageress she sent the young server back to apologise and ask us what was missing? We informed him and he did provide an apology in the form of a bottle of wine. The missing meals eventually arrived. Look, mistakes get made we are human, we don’t mind this but there was no responsibility taken by the manageress, who left the young servers to deal with a mess she had made, it was highly unprofessional. Don’t get me started on the random table for two laid right in the middle of the bar, what was that about or the lack of any electric lights in the dingy covered area we were sitting in, the candles were nice but did not really cut it. The food was fine if not on the pricey side. I’ve heard the pizzas are good so maybe try that. I would not go back for a meal.More
