Went there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It was a sunday so getting a booking was easy. We ordered starters and mains, combination of sea food, vegetarian and chicken. The waiter who was servicing us was an old friendly man, extremely lovely and chatty. He made sure the fish was as spicy as we had wanted (asked him to make it extra hot) and was delicious. The food was freshly made, aromatic and delicious, the starters, i.e. prawns and veg spring rolls - Spring rolls are highly recommended as they are different and nice.
The wine that they keep is very nice. We ordered two bottles of the white wine and among the three of us that was a bit too much ( I was driving) but we could carry the bottle so that made us feel good.
The desserts are amazing, especially the chocolate mousse and coconut custard. And they also sang a birthday song so made my daughter feel special.
Kudos to the serving team and the waiter was fab. I will be visiting this place again pretty soon and highly recommend if you've not tried it.

Great food, with generous portions, the spring rolls were the best. Beautiful setting sat by the window looking out to the river, and the decor is authentic.
We had the chicken Massaman curry, which was so flavorsome and had plenty of meat in it.
My only comment would be that we ordered double measures, it came in a small glass ,so not a lot of room for a big portion of the mixer, however we both couldn't taste much of he alcohol in the drinks, so I am not sure if it was a double.
Other than that it was the perfect meal after lockdown, all the staff wore masks, there was sanitizer at the door, and we felt very safe.

My wife and myself were part of a group of 12 who had lunch today at the £20 per head ‘All You Can Eat’ Buffet at the Thai Orchid Restaurant which is located close to Maidenhead Bridge near the River Thames.
Our host had prebooked a table in advance which is just as well as this is clearly a popular Sunday Lunch venue as there wasn’t an empty chair/table in the whole property. As such, book ahead to avoid disappointment!!
On seeing - and tasting - the extensive buffet, one is not only spoiled for choice but the quality is very good. All in all, extremely good value for money and no surprise why this must be one of Maidenhead’s most popular Sunday Lunch venues.

Ordered takeaway, didn't get what we ordered. When I phoned to complain the staff were very argumentative and unapologetic. When they finally sent us more food it was inedible due to the amount of chilli they added. A huge disappointment with staff who clearly have attitude problems.

We have visited the Thai orchid many times bit this was our first since Lock down.
The service was poor! only the people they new were treated like royalty, the rest of us were treated like an inconvenience.
On arrival we said we had booked and they said oh just sit over there.
There was no taste to any of the dishes we ordered, the noodles were swimming in oil with just two pieces of chicken.
The portions were small only three choices for vegetarians.
There was no social distancing they just fitted as many people in as they could and couldn't wait to get rid of us.
An expensive waste of an evening.
Seriously they really need to pull there socks up and not just rely on where they are.
They are a disgrace to the chain.

I celebrated my birthday here recently with my husband, mother and son and I was very impressed with the decor inside. The service was great and the staff were very nice and helpful. The shared starter for 4 was served on a platter and it was gorgeous. I chose filleted sea bass for the main course and my mother chose sea bass with the bones. My mother really enjoyed the sea bass but I am sorry to say I was shocked as there were tiny bits of very hot red chili’s on mine. I cannot eat very spicy or hot tasting foods for medical reasons so I was very disappointed. The restaurant was very busy and I don’t like to complain so I said nothing.
One member of staff stood by the door politely saying goodbye as my family were leaving. I was last to leave as I was using a crutch to help me walk and said goodbye to him but he did not say anything to me. That didn’t make any sense at all and upset and offended me but I didn’t say anything until we drove home. Usually staff in any restaurant are very helpful and nice to wheelchair users. I am a very polite and intelligent lady so I cannot understand why they seemed to discriminate against me and spoil my expensive birthday treat.

We ordered a take away for 4 people. We asked for 4 vegetarian mixed starters. Half of the starters were pork and chicken. When we queried this the next day we were told the chef decided to add the meat dishes. This made us very cautious of the green Thai curry that was meant to be veggie. It looked like it had lumps of chicken in. Therefore a £70 meal was partly inedible by half our party.
I recommend you do not go if you have any dietary requirements as they do not listen and don’t care if you say anything.

We have been visitors at this Thai restaurant for 10 years+ and probably nearer 15. So we were looking forward to our pre cinema dinner as it had been sometime since we last ate there.
The welcome was as warm as ever and the restaurant was very busy even at 7:30.
Our order was delivered within about 5 minutes. Now I like quick service but this was taking it to the extreme. And yes, the singapore noodles must have been hanging around for a few hours. I was really looking forward to them being freshly cooked. I should have sent them back, but you don't go out for dinner to have hassle.
The rest of the meal was fine, but you knew that it wasn't fresh off the wok or whatever pan they use in Thailand.
So after such happy times, it has reached the end for us. Which is a great pity as we like the people and have happy memories

Not been for a few years, thankfully it was as good as I remember. Shame that they can't open for in house dinners (I miss the dessert trolly!).
They are always very polite, food was prepared quickly and was delicious. Definitely ordered too much....

We had seen this cute Thai place from afar and saw how busy it was, saw reviews which seemed to be really good so gave this place a try. To be honest, the food isn't to our taste - can't put my finger on it but it just wasn't near to the level that my husband and I are used to and we don't have high expectations. I'm unsure why this place is busier than other places but we've tried this 3 times just in case we've had bad luck, but all times have been poor service, the way food is packed and how little there is with some dishes, and the taste just haven't been great.

Family of 12 for my birthday buffet lunch , food was amazing & well presented.
BUT a disappointing end when the bill arrived, my daughter of just tired 2 , who ate literally some rice & a couple of chips was charged £10, I questioned the manager & his response was everyone with a plate has to pay.
I was happy to pay for my other daughter & niece (7years old) but to charge a infant was shocking.

UK unfortunately is lacking when it comes to genuine Thai cuisine, most serving watered down version of thai dishes.
And then we have Thai Orchid in Maidenhead, a place where the flavours are like you remembered them in Thailand.
And remember, unless you are of the vegetarian persuasion, to order the chicken satay skewers as a starter, or you will miss out on the yummiest thai dish in UK.

Very expensive for what it is. We opted for the a la carte menu in the evening.
- starters came out in one big dish (there was 8 of us dining, and amongst us some vegetarian). They had put all the meat and veg together in one big serving plate rather than bring each dish out separately.
- waitresses were miserable, no smile and it was evident they were making comments about our table between them.
- overall mediocre food i have to say. Very expensive for what it is.
Probably only worth going for the buffet where service doesn’t matter.

Thai food is one of our favourite cuisines. We love the fragrant curries, the zesty salads and the sweet desserts. So, when we moved to Maidenhead, we were excited to discover that there were several Thai restaurants in town. However, we quickly became disappointed with the quality of Thai food on offer. In London, we had been spoilt for choice when it came to Thai restaurants, and the standard of food at Thai Orchid just didn't compare.
The prices were also much higher than you’d think for Maidenhead. However, the service was excellent and the food was good. On Sundays, they offer an all-you-can-eat buffet for just £20 which I think that this is a great deal for the selection of choices they list.
.Thai food in Maidenhead may not be the best Thai food in the UK, but it's definitely worth trying if you're in the area.

I wanted to give this place a try, a change from our regular Thai eat out, Thai Square in Windsor.
Unfortunately, this place is stuck in a time warp, plastic dusty plants everywhere, tired decor and the service very poor.
The staff were difficult to understand, the food was mediocre, but what put me off is the frozen vegetables that were used in my massaman curry.
Sorry guys won't be returning.
