We recently visited this restaurant for dinner as part of a day trip to Windsor. We decided to eat at this establishment, as it had good reviews on Trip Advisor and it was also near Windsor Castle.
When we arrived at the restaurant we were warmly greeted by the manager and we were given a fresh bread roll and some water. The menu had good variety and had a good wine/drink menu. For starter, I had Chill Salt Squid. It was delicious and the squid was nicely spiced. The other guest in my party had Portland Crab on Avocado Toast and he enjoyed the dish. For the main course, I shared a Chateaubriand. We asked for it to be cooked medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. It was served with chunky chips (which were also light, fluffy and delicious). This dish was £33 per person, which I felt was good value for money. The other person in my party had mushroom risotto and she throughly enjoyed the dish. For dessert, I shared a chocolate fondant. It takes around 12-15 minutes to be cooked but it’s well worth the wait. It was cooked to perfection! The other guest in my party had a cheeseboard and it was good value for money as is it had a good selection of cheeses. The service was always great and you can also have liver or fish if you don’t fancy having a steak.
The restaurant itself is situated ten minutes from Windsor Castle and fifteen minutes from the Windsor and Eton Riverside Railway Station. In addition, the restaurant had a good selection of spirits, wines and beers (it serves a local Windsor & Eton Pale Ale) and the staff and management are very friendly, polite and attentive.
Overall if I decided to come back to Windsor, I would definitely come back to this restaurant.

I am lucky enough to eat here regularly as it is five minutes from my home. The food is fantastic, it is one of the few restaurants I have ever eaten in which always delivers the most fabulous food every time without fail. Just delicious.......
I love the atmosphere, just makes every occasion feel special no matter what, most importantly the Team are just a great group of people, who work really hard to deliver Customer Service which is unbeatable. It is just a treasure of a restaurant, and just gives me a warm glow every time I’m lucky enough to eat there!
Special thanks to the Lads and Ladies who always welcome us with such warmth. If you want the best possible experience, look no further anywhere, simply the best!

We managed to book a table for a party of 4 for an early evening meal. We were advised before arrival that it was card payment only and that we could have the table for 2 hours. On the day of the booking I received a courtesy call from the restaurant to inform us again of the arrangements.
Arrived on time and was greeted with a very warm welcome. They took our temperature and showed us personally to our table. Staff are fantastic polite social funny and very interactive.
We had a range of starters, main courses and desserts all of which was at a very high standard. Food was cooked to perfection and the portion size was generous.
There are many restaurants in Windsor to dine in but to have the whole experience 100% is rare.
I would recommend Windsor Grill for wonderful food and hospitality

I booked this restaurant based off Trip Advisor reviews and I was not disappointed.
The restaurant itself is extremely inviting from the outside - It has a contemporary yet charming exterior. The inside is just as sweet. It's clean, well lit and cosy with a slight fine dining feel to it.
We both ordered fillet steaks and they were cooked to perfection. I am not a big steak fan however my partner is (booked for his birthday) and I think this restaurant has converted me.
The real stand out of the Windsor Grill however, is the amazing staff. From start to finish they were friendly, professional and very attentive. We were seriously impressed. One of the waitresses also found out it was my partner's birthday and offered him a complimentary drink which was so kind of her.
I can't recommend this place highly enough. You will not be disappointed and we will definitely be back! Thank you for making the night so special!

We came here for the very first time purely by chance for my wife’s birthday. The Windsor Grill is a little bit of a walk out of town (about 5 minutes past the end of the pedestrianised high street) but absolutely worth it. The restaurant layout is a little eclectic but also gives a bit of nostalgia of old family favourites from when I was a child.
The food was incredible. We had the crab on toast and the devilled lamb’s kidneys which came with one of the most delicious sauces I’ve ever eaten. For mains, two fillet steaks with the blackened prawns (grilled in cayenne pepper - magnificent!) which were cooked to perfection with my wife topping off with some ice cream which was also tasty. Portion size is excellent - you will not leave hungry!
The total cost for the meal, bottle of wine and a large glass of red cost about 160, more than we’d pay for a meal usually, but absolutely worth it for the quality of both the food and service. I cannot praise the restaurant enough and hopefully we’ll be back when next in Windsor. Comfortably in the top 5 meals out we’ve ever had as a couple. Well done, guys!
The only downside was the toilet situation - toilets are absolutely fine and well maintained but the key on the spoon situation is most strange. A minor quirk but did not take away from the evening overall.

Came here for dinner one evening as part of a large group. Lovely location and ambiance. The food was excellent and the staff very attentive. As a vegetarian, I couldn't find anything on the set menu that I could eat but the chef very quickly rustled up two superb dishes for me and another colleague. I couldn't fault anything and would definitely come here again.

Wow, possibly the best steak I’ve had in the UK for a long time, had fillet & ribeye both delicious I mean really delicious, served how I ordered mine rare, med rare the fillet and both perfect. Squid and Black Prawn starter both tasty too (would’ve peeled the prawns in kitchen..)..slight criticism, served slightly too quickly, but by super friendly staff!! I don’t give 5 very often but well worth a visit!

We visited the Windsor Grill as a party of four adults and one child (4 years).
Very easy to park directly outside of the restaurant with ample street parking free after 6:30pm.
Inside the restaurant is beautiful, cozy and intimate and COVID-19 was taken very seriously by the staff with plenty of measures in place to keep us safe.
The waiting staff were absolutely lovely, attentive (but not overly intrusive), exceptionality friendly towards our little girl and just overall great at looking after us.
I don’t know if I can put into words how good the food was, every course was delicious. The steaks were probably the best we’ve ever had (and we’ve had a lot!), the sides perfect and all cooked and presented beautifully.
All I can say is if you’re in Windsor and looking for a lovely evening I can not recommend the Windsor Grill enough.

A little bit further away from the tourist hot spots but worth the extra 5 minute walk.Very friendly service, steaks were superb and cooked perfectly, cocktails were served as they should be and wine was reasonably priced. Difficult to fault as good as if not better than Londons upper end steak restaurants.

We had a wonderful meal here this weekend. We ordered Chateaubriand as a main course for two. It was cooked perfectly - it stated on the menu that it came with chips. The waitress was fantastic but my only criticism is that she stated it came with two sides and asked what we would each like. So we ordered chips and salad. However we were then charged for the salads albeit it was only £10. The dessert menu offered a good choice of desserts and the brownie was delicious!! Overall the service was fantastic, very timely and friendly. The couldn’t do enough for you.
In terms of covid-19: this resturant take it very seriously, they do a temperature check, tables are distanced, masks used by staff, hand sanitiser available, toilet key and so on.
Overall highly recommend if you’re looking for a good steak!

My husband and I ate here this evening. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel comfortable and all the appropriate COVID 19 precautions were explained to us.
All staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Although they have a time limit on tables, you never feel rushed & service is impeccable. My husband had the chicken livers to start & was offered extra bread to mop up the sauce. I had the pigs cheeks which were melt in the mouth. We both had fillet steak with sides of garlic mushrooms and bacon greens. Just YUM!! It was all washed down with an excellent bottle of Primativo. I ordered the profiteroles for dessert & hubby had the chocolate brownie. As we swapped half way through, I can testify, both desserts were amazing.
This is a fabulous restaurant. Serving sizes are perfect, we left nothing but didn’t feel stuffed to bursting upon leaving. A truly lovely evening and I wish we had somewhere like this close to where we live.

We booked in to this restaurant as a treat for my birthday, as I am a real steak lover. It was wonderful. My 9 ounce fillet was cooked to perfection, and was a lovely generous size. My wife’s ribeye steak was again generous and cooked to perfection, and the chunky chips were delicious.
The staff were working hard but time to chat without making you feel rushed. It was great to see it so busy on a Thursday night, and hopefully their hard work and delicious food will help them prosper. We live an hours drive away from Windsor, but I would seriously consider making the drive just to go to this restaurant

We loved the ambience of this restaurant, from the quirky ceiling heights and alcoves, to the eclectic Christmas decorations. The staff were friendly and professional, well worth the 12.5% service charge. Tables at Windsor Grill are beautifully laid and the temperature is perfect. The food is exquisite from the perfectly cooked steak and chicken, to the delicious Potatoes Dauphinoise and the simp,e but perfect buttered spinach.
Don’t be afraid to ask for small adjustments to the food and drink on offer; our waiter was happy to have a mustard sauce removed and replaced by a mushroom sauce, and he accommodated my request for elderflower cordial and soda.
You may pay a little extra for your meal here, but perfection doesn’t come cheap!

I simply cannot believe that I have lived in Windsor for seven years and have never been here! Sure, I heard it had a great reputation but my word I have been slow in catching on to this absolute delight. I simply cannot fault the whole evening, a fabulous restaurant with great staff and sublime food. The four of us chose different steaks from the menu with mine being the mixed grill so to take advantage of sampling various options on one plate. It was awesome! This place simply delivers from the passion they clearly have in doing what they do, the best grilled meat dishes you will possibly ever have cooked and served by people who really care about quality. We will be back!

We went there on the last day of the £10 deal, but of course it's quite expensive. Sirloin steak was perfect for Anne and I had the mixed grill which was excellent but too large for an old bloke like me. A few more veg would have helped. Dessert great and proper mature timely service.
