Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stopped in for cream tea in the afternoon after seeing all the great reviews but found it to be just average at best. The scones were fairly good but the tea itself was not very flavorful for Earl Grey. The smoothies were similarly just okay....Perhaps other menu items are better but if you’re looking for a good English tea, try some place else.More

A late lunch/tea time respite in the shade of umbrella seating. Simple but tasty lunch options and a cute cream tea. Slightly slow but friendly service.

Turned away by incredibly rude waitress who claimed there was no space, despite there being several tables available. It looked cramped and noisy inside. Would not recommend.

We’ve been here before and sat inside which is very nice but due to hot weather sat outside under umbrella. Cream Tea was delicious, the scone was warm and tasted freshly baked, soft inside. As I don’t like cold egg the chef did ham finger...sandwich to go with the cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches. A popular place but a problem in the kitchen meant quite a wait and I’d finished my tea by the time the scone etc arrived so ordered more. Friendly, accommodating staff. A nice atmosphere and right near Windsor Castle.More

We stopped at Clarence for lunch while visiting Windsor and we can’t say enough about this restaurant. It was highly recommended by one of the guards at the entrance to Windsor Castle and she was so right! We had the chicken, mushroom, and cheese crepes...and one of the fancy cream teas with sandwiches, and everything was wonderful. The friendliness of the owners and staff must be mentioned! They were so accommodating and personable.More

This quaint sidewalk tea place was wonderful. The afternoon tea was everything we expected it to be with a wonderful atmosphere. The soldiers marched down the street a block away and the proprietor saved our table while we ran down to watch. I highly recommend...this little shop.More

We found this tea room via a gluten free blog. And we are so glad we did. Lovely, helpful staff, lots of gluten free options, and a relatively well priced (considering its position) sweet and savoury afternoon tea for me (non coeliac). My daughter’s chicken...and bacon sandwich was delicious, and definitely didn’t skimp on the filling. And we sat outside, with the view of the castle wall behind us. Bravo for a great hospitality service. Many thanksMore

Regularly visit Windsor, but this was our first time eating at Clarence and I have to say I wish we had found this place earlier. Situated at one end of church Street, the location was perfect to get the best of eating outside. The service...was fantastic. The menu was a perfect size so as to give a good choice of food without overwhelming you. Fish and chips portion size was great, and fish cooked to perfection. Salads were fresh, tasty and again, the sizing was perfect. Pizza made to order and again cooked to perfection. Well done guys.More

Visited on Saturday lunch after walking the long walk. Very friendly staff, efficient service, our panini’s and teas were very reasonably priced and filling. Happy to support small business’s -lovely clean venue, in the middle of old Windsor.
