Beautifully placed overlooking the Thames, staff were attentive and food was good. Slightly pricey but food was worth it. Inside and outside dining, really relaxed evening - great.

Thank you for your kind review, so pleased you enjoyed your visit and we hope to welcome you back. On a personal note it was lovely to see another visitor to the British Services cemeteries abroad - We will remember them!

fish & chips not cheap at £12.95. Very ordinary......no tartar source, waiter apologised that none available gourmet burger £13.95.......very dry patty only with a smattering of lettuce and chips. Asked for cheese......an extra £1 charge for a very thin slice of cheese

Went for Fathers Day lunch as my daughter had been a couple of times before and was always impressed. Had a great roast meal, with great service and a lovely view of the Thames. We will certainly be back.

Great that you found respite with us - sorry there was a delay with the food, but pleased you were pre-warned and had the time to enjoy the view. Look forward to welcoming you back if you return to Windsor.

Perhaps the only riverside pub in Windsor. It's more of a restaurant with a bar then a pub these days. If you get to sit by the Thames with a pint you will be lucky. Still very much dog friendly.More

Dear Montyf1 - Pubs have to adapt to the demands of the customers - and they demand food - especially at a location such as the Boatman where people love to eat and drink while sitting watching the river. We're sorry your review appeared a...More

Good food, good service. Mark our waiter even knew the colour of the wall paint from Farrow and Ball which we thought created a lovely atmosphere. Have eaten here twice over a period of 6 months as we are not locals. Were impressed both times.

So sorry you have been misinformed. Our ‘Tronc’ (service charge) is distributed by an outside, independent ‘Tronc Master’ company. 95% is distributed to the staff with the remaining 5% paying for the Tronc Masters’ services and debit/credit card charges (which is the norm).

The Boatman loves dogs - inside or outside and they will get treats and water :-) You can bring them down and have a meal too. I have two dogs (a bischon frise and a pug) and we regularly bring them along...
