Really lovely restaurant serving wonderful food, just a shame that on the night we visited the ambience in the restaurant was tarnished by a group of very drunk customers. It was sad to witness one individual being repeatedly lecherous towards a member of the waiting...staff, and disappointing that management did not intervene. Come on Russell’s - you can do better than that. Your food is amazing - protect your staff and don’t let the ambiance be spoiled by a drunken minority.More

We went to Russel's of Broadway on the 11th November for an anniversary meal and we were not disappointed. The service from the young waitress was fantastic and the food was sublime. I recommend the mushroom risotto and Date Souffle. I have not tasted anything...quite like the souffle. It was perfection. The atmosphere is light and very welcoming and it is opposite a lovely green that is lit up at night. I could not fault the quality and professionalism of this establishment.More

I love a restaurant with attentive waiting staff that can answer questions about a menu, without having to go and talk to the chef! I had the brill, followed by the most sublime date souffle. My husband had the beef brisket. Our only regret is...that we did not stay here during our time in Broadway.More

Great B&B with a first-class restaurant attached. We stayed 2 nights and had a great experience, we had the set dinner menu which was excellent. Service was very good, wines were well-priced. Breakfast was also very good. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, with v...powerful shower (room 1). The honesty bar was a nice touch.More

The village of Broadway is renown for its elegance and beauty, and Russell’s of Broadway sits in the heart of its High Street, describing itself as “a restaurant with rooms”. My husband and I stayed here in early October, in Room 5 off the ground...floor courtyard. It was superb. The room was large and comfortably furnished; it even had a good air conditioner - a pleasant surprise! The bathroom was huge and seemed recently remodelled with a large and modern walk-in shower in addition to a separate bathtub, and lots of convenient shelves for our toiletries. It was very quiet. Lunch on their outside patio was excellent (smoked salmon sandwiches) and we were looking forward to having dinner at their highly rated restaurant but it was closed that evening. One of the helpful staff suggested the nearby Spanish/Tapas restaurant The Broadbean for dinner and this turned out to be an excellent choice. We were sorry to be able to stay here only for one night and hope to return again.More

We were staying at the Lygon Arms up the road and had a disappointing overpriced meal there the night before, so we wanted a change. I called Russell’s early in the morning, a very helpful and friendly Swedish lady managed to fit our family of...5 into the private side room for that evening as the restaurant was fully booked. The food was outstanding, and good value. Scallops, turbot, fillet steak, amazing soufflé for desert, all perfectly cooked. It was good we had the side room as the restaurant lacked atmosphere and just had adults dining in there. They don’t have a children’s menu but they made a plate of pasta for our 5 year. This restaurant seems more suited for adults only, but if you are with a family / children ask for side room, enjoy the great food and create your own ambience!More

My wife and I were looking forward to enjoying the Sunday Roast, but what a disappointment. We both ordered the lamb, but when it came, it looked and tasted like we had been brought beef. Rather abruptly (indeed we were made to feel bad for...questioning the meat), the staff insisted that the meat was indeed lamb, but offered to replace the servings. The second delivery did taste like lamb but was incredibly tough, indeed my wife was unable to eat it. The vegetables were fine. We were dining at 6pm, so perhaps the meat wasn’t as freshly roasted as we might have expected….. We have eaten here before and the food was then excellent. Hopefully this was a one-off bad experience.More

We stayed for one night with dinner and breakfast. The dinner was very good, though felt it was not quite exceptional. There was a good variety of choice from their local, seasonal menu. There was a good atmosphere and service was ok. The room was...comfy, with a good shower. Our room overlooked the Main Street and we were not disturbed by any noise. For breakfast, my wife tells me she had the best cooked breakfast she had ever tasted in part due to the high quality of the ingredients used. Would recommend if you are staying in Broadway.More

We were staying in the Cotswolds to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and came across Russel’s whilst searching the internet. We found it to have a varied menu that suited us, so booked our table. We were not disappointed, the atmosphere, service and food were perfect....I chose from the “specials” menu, Pigs Head Terrine, and Lamb Shank for mains. My wife chose Crab meat starter and Scallops as her main. The staff were very attentive and surprised us at the end of the meal with celebration plate , see the photos. I would highly recommended Russel’s, it was quite busy being Thursday and out of season, so make a booking. Thanks for a lovely eveningMore

Brilliant kitchen, easily one of the best meals we've had in the Cotswolds. It was our anniversary and the team made it very special. Very happy!

A good dining experience at this local restaurant. My companion and I decided to go for the Lunch Set Menu - 2 courses for £30, 3 courses for £35. There were only two choices of each course. We both chose the Cornish Pork Belly which...was faultless both in taste and presentation. We coupled this dish with a cloudy apple juice (as for different reasons we are both currently unable to drink alcohol) which went very well with the pork. For dessert we both chose the Pannacota. This came with chocolate ice cream and shortbread biscuits. The restaurant was over half-full and so the atmosphere was good. Service was also good. Not my first meal here and won’t be the last : consistently good.More

The food is gourmet standard. Bravo! Varied and enjoyable menu. We especially enjoyed the lamb cooked three ways. The restaurant is slightly incongruous - no white table cloths but varnished wooden tables and service by local lasses.

We decided to have an iced coffee at Russell's, we ordered and then wasv disappointed with the quality and taste , very little coffee was used , informed the waiter and he changed them , they were no better than the first iced coffee. For...a simple drink why can't they get it right ?? The person(s) who made the iced coffee and the waiter should be re-trained or sacked for poor quality iced coffee . Russell's have a Michelin Star rating and they make iced coffee which was found to be sub-standard on our visit . POOR performance from this placeMore
